    Not sure if I'm excited about this or not!? On one hand I'd like George to just leave it alone, but there's a tiny part of my who's intreagued as to how this will pan out. The article suggests it will be fun. Let's hope so.

    Outstanding! My kids are going to be thrilled to hear about this. Will it be a series or perhaps a 1-2 hour TV movie?
  • prof1515prof1515 Member Posts: 1,550
    Lucas has beat it so much it's hard to even discern that it is a dead horse.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
    ^^ not sure, information is sparse at the moment.

    ^ yes, you are right, but why do I still get a little excited by these announcements, I guess I'm just too forgiving.

    I'm wondering if these are going to 'silent' films like the LEGO games, in all those that I've played the characters don't actually speak.

    The real fun begins in the cinemas next Febuary. 3D Phantom Menace.

    Because 2D Jar Jar wasn't horrific enough?

    Hey, when you own all of your own licensing rights you tend to want to utilize them to make money... am I sick of all the 'prequel' stuff (espeically when you know what the outcome will ultimately be?) YES.
    They should be starting to focus on the stories AFTER Episode 6

    I see this as a way of perhaps introducing some other ships/scenes to the mix that could then maybe be released as sets? One can hope.....Or maybe we can get our 17th version of Slave I instead....

    Lego Star Wars Episode 3.52: Jar Jar and the Bic Lighter of Doom

    Yeah, I love Lego and I love the Star Wars-licensed sets released by them. But this, care for I shall not! Good for the kids, but I remember a time (note that I grew up on the PREQUELS) when SW media was released that everybody could enjoy. But that's another (non-Lego) story altogether!

    I think we're all forgetting that George Lucas has been crazy for a long time. Ewok Christmas Special Anybody?

    I think LEGO is the best that that happened to the Star Wars franchise since they started digitally mucking with the old films.

    The Star Wars Christmas Special was the original P.O.S. to end all P.O.S.

    Happy Life Day, everybody! LMFAO

    I've just watched The Padawan Menace and have to say I quite enjoyed it. Not surprisingly the humour is very similar to the games, so if you like those I think you'll like this. They've also announced an exclusive minifig will be given away with the bluray release of this in September I think.

    There were a lot of updated and new minifig designs in this, I'm trying not to read too much into it but it's possible this was a taster of things to come.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
    ^ I watched the show as well, and quite enjoyed it too. I haven't played the games, but might need to now. I think fans of the original trilogy at least would enjoy the humor and references. "It's a wrap!"

    Where can I find this, aside from short clips on YouTube ?

    I kind of enjoyed it as well. My two year old LOVED it.

    i really liked the rancor figure. and the kiminoan on the jedi council, just a stack of round bricks with a minifigure head on top.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
    The Rancor was cool, nice to know they've designed one now, it'd be great to see it in 2013 in a set, here's hoping.

    For me, it was a joy to see Ponda Baba (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ponda_Baba) in minifig form (hint hint TLG).
  • mrfootballmrfootball Member Posts: 84
    We really enjoyed it! I hope they do more (or maybe a feature length movie).

    Just pre-ordered the Blueray DVD for $13 shipped from Walmart - comes with a young Han Solo minifig.
  • bluelion3bluelion3 Member Posts: 156
    I didn't realize it would be on DVD so soon. It will be nice to see in HD since my Cartoon Network is a standard definition channel. I liked the Han Solo ("Ian") character in the show, so the figure is great!
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
    Just ordered mine. Thanks for the heads-up.

    I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about lego models and figs in the show, as the video games also had lots of great looking figs and models, many of which have never existed.

    Though maybe a little hope this time, as i suppose this is made by the very people who will cash in on the direct advertising/hype that the show is/creates. But then i also thought LEGO would have the sense to cash in on Lego Universe with real life models...

    Is anyone familiar with the bonus material included in the disc?
    BONUS MATERIAL :
    * Hunt for R2D2
    * Bombad Bounty
    * Star Wars in Two Minutes (Part 1)
    * Star Wars in 2 Minutes (Part 2)
    * Star Wars Clone Wars In Cinema
    I feel like I've seen the Star Wars in Two Minutes bits. Were any of these from lego.com or are they fan films?
  • NeilJamNeilJam Member Posts: 272
    I think I've seen the SW in two minutes on Comcast On Demand.

    @bluelion3
    You can see the videos on LEGO's video page under the Star Wars products (the names are different though):
    http://starwars.lego.com/en-us/Movies/default.aspx

    * Hunt for R2D2 = Quest for R2D2 Parts 1 & 2
    * Bombad Bounty = Full Mini Movie 2010 Parts 1 & 2
    * Star Wars in Two Minutes Part 1 = May the 4th Be With You
    * Star Wars in Two Minutes Part 2 = May the 4th Be With You - 2
    * Star Wars Clone Wars in Cinema = ? I don't know what this one is

    On the site they also have a few more videos, mostly commercials that have aired for various sets.

    Anyone happen to know if the blu-ray will be region encoded? I've read that a lot of blu-rays are region free. There is no release date that I can find for the UK so I'm in the dark as to whether the Han minifig is exclusive to the US release. I'd appreciate it if someone in the US could potentially help me out and pre-order and ship a copy to the UK for me (payment via paypal).
  • rwsalesrwsales Member Posts: 47
    I would also be grateful if someone could ship a copy to myself in the UK - as Wal-Mart does not ship outside the US. Like atkinsar - can pay via paypal.
  • drdavewatforddrdavewatford Administrator Posts: 6,754
    Please add me to the list for UK shipping !
  • collect_thatcollect_that Member Posts: 1,327
    ^ Likewise! I checked Walmart and no UK shipping. But don't they own Asda, so maybe it will be sold there?? I can pay paypal or swap for sets. I have a stack of 3222 sets available!!

    May want to hold off on your orders for imported copies.....

    Just seen on Jedi News:
    The great news is that LEGO Star Wars - The Padawan Menace is coming to the UK on the Cartoon Network just in time for the October half-term holidays; we'll get you the exact date just as soon as we get it.

    Also, for those that would like to add LEGO Star Wars - The Padawan Menace to their Blu-ray or DVD collection the great news in that Tesco will be selling this exclusively in the UK in early November. The release will be available as seperate Blu-ray and DVD releases and both with include the Young Han Solo minfigure shown above.

    Just wondering if The Padawan Menace is of movie length or is it a preview to the upcoming tv series after Clone Wars Season 4?
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432

  • RedbullgivesuwindRedbullgivesuwind Member Posts: 2,108
    ^^ its a 30 minute tv episode done by lego but there are no plans to make it a tv series. detours which is what you refer to is a colaboration between seth green and george lucas.
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
    ^^ Thanks. Just can't bring myself to trust Walmart shipping. Guess I'll drop by a store and see if they have 'em.
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
    So, I did just that - stopped by Walmart today and they had a bunch of copies for sale - plenty to go around. Bought one - enjoyed it! Funny little Flick. Missed it when it aired on TV - hope they make it into a series.
