Reviews - how is the overall number calculated?

I happened to be looking at #10170 (random set of the day!) and I see it has 1 review that gave it 5 bricks. Yet, looking at the right side-bar, it displays 3.8 bricks. I'm pretty sure I have all reviews visible, so how do we get an overall 3.8?

Thanks!
