Suitable rotating base for 10188 Death Star diorama in 10186 Grievous set?

Reckon the swivelling base from 10186 General Grievous would work as a base for 10188 Death Star? Looks pretty sturdy, and I haven't been able to find a MOC stand on Teh Interwebs™.

Yes, it is pretty sturdy. Adding a motor to slowly turn the Death Star on its stand would be cool. But you're have to MOC your own stand then.

^ that's a cracking idea, I might give it a go. Sure beats the crappy Lazy Susan I put my Death Star on!

Looking at the images and videos online, I can't see how the stand swivels. The instructions show no rotating part, just a single solid piece (unique piece?) which looks like a 4x4 round plate kind of 'sits' on it. The smooth tiles on the bottom of the base help with reducing friction? Dunno. I guess it doesn't matter — the videos look like it has a nice and easy swivel.

If I do make this, I'll recreate the bottom part of the stand to be round rather than square. I don't think a square stand will suit the death star. I'll remove/replace the pillar-like feet too, they look a bit 'classical'.

It is a turntable. Specifically, this one:

The two parts of the turntable come separated. The instructions incorporate the two pieces into the top and bottom and don't snap them together until later.

I see. I mistook the top part for a grey 4x4 round plate. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll order the complete assembled part when the time comes to build this thing.

    Cheers
