What is your favorite Droideka build?

With newly released sets including different droideka builds, and some strong opinions on past/new models...I was just wondering what kind of consensus.

I want a droideka army, and who wouldnt want the best build? :P

They've all sucked and Lego needs to finally develop some new specialized pieces to make a mini-figure scale droideka instead of trying to make them out of existing ones. Just imagine how battle droids would look if Lego didn't create four molds for them or three for astromech droids. That's basically what we've gotten with droidekas. Bleh.

The one in the new AT-RT set is definitely an interesting build though. I know some folks have been lackluster on the newer models vs the older models.

The 2002 droidekas were closer to an accurate scale than the one with the revised MTT or the new one with the AT-RT. Those are both too big on account of the pieces they use. The ones in the new battle pack look a bit more to scale but too squashed. Like I said, a couple new molded pieces by Lego could finally end this problem once and for all.

I picked up #8002 on clearance over a decade ago. Nowhere near minifig scale but it was a fun set mainly because it could curl up into a ball and then spring open.

@jasor, not sure if you're joking or not.. but I believe he means set #8002, which is LEGO Technic Droideka.... not an army of 8,002 Droidekas.

Although that would be quite the sight indeed!

@samiam391 -- i was indeed talking about the technic droideka. Can you imagine? I'm still curious about older school droidekas or the newer iterations for my army.

Personally, I hate all of the droidekas. In the Trade Federation MTT I just used the droidekas for parts cause I find them flimsy and annoying so agreeing with @prof1515

It just doesnt interest me. But since only one comes in the new AT-RT Ill probably just build it cause- idk eh. @jasor

I've built that one, which seems a bit less involved than the new battlepack. I'll have more idea when i put those together. BTW, eventhough the clones arent in phase II armor, the seargent seems bang up....and the 501st in the AT-RT? Epic.
