I saw this posted over on TNI and had not seen it mentioned before. I have to say, I am certainly excited for the Clark Kent minifigure.

That is a very, very nice looking figure, I'll definitely have to make sure to pick one up.

Well, I guess that guarantees I'll be getting it.

Both of these are entirely new to me. Very cool, though. There's all sorts of stuff cropping up right now - thanks!

Can someone explain why Clark Kent would be with a Batman game? Just curious.

"Darth vader with MEDAL" Any idea what that means?

    I don't see a medal hanging anywhere
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
    "MEDAL"

FYI - The 'Empire Strikes Out' DVD was on the forums a few days ago and is on the frontpage news today as well.

The description of the movie makes it sound very similar (if not the same as) the LEGO Batman 2 game. I wonder if this comprises all of the cutscenes from the game, along with bridging animation ? I'm more than happy whatever the source.

I wonder how long the price and availability for pre-order will last for amazon.co.uk. I just spotted it on HUKD too so no doubt loads of people will pile in.
  • canuckcanuck Member Posts: 88
Meh, the Clark figure is nice but like the new Harley Quinn the torso is useless because you can't make a true civilian Clark. If the movie is just the compiled cut scenes from the video game i have no interest in it.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
^ You could take a plain blue suited torso and use that.
  • canuckcanuck Member Posts: 88
That's what I'm thinking about doing but i would have to bricklink it as i don't have one.

It looks like there is a very dark medal that practically blends in with his torso, sitting near the base of his torso. It is than strung, like the other Celebration minifigures that came with the encyclopedia/etc., by a black 'chain/ribbon'.

Excluding the medal, the torso printing looks slightly unique. I wonder if it will become a template for future Darth Vaders, as it looks quite nice.

From everything I've read, that's exactly what it is.

I guess I didn't see it either than, I was describing something completely different from the actual medal that is shown clearly in the picture you provided!

I guess even Darth Vader has to take a break some times and listen to some tunes.

So, looking at Amazon, it appears that the exclusive minifigure comes with both the Blu-Ray/DVD combo and the single DVD release. Can anyone confirm this? I don't own a Blu-Ray Player, but I'd hate to pre-order the DVD and not get the minifigure...
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
Is the blu-ray of Empire Strikes Out available for pre-order anywhere in the UK? All I can find is the DVD version on Amazon.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^ doh, wrong thread, and I'm supposed to know what's going on round here!

  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
You say that, although there is a reasonable amout of SW in here. I'd merge the threads.
  • BeavBeav Member Posts: 303
Can only find the DVD copy of the SW film in the UK.

Is the Batman film coming out in the UK, can't find it anywhere.

As far as I know, there was only going to be a DVD release of Empire, no Blu-Ray mentioned...

    ...which seems unusual.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^ ok, they'll probably release the soundtrack on vinyl too. I don't know why it bothers me, I only want the minifig, but somehow, it does.

I've not seen a pre order for the Batman movie at all yet, but I don't think it comes out until May.
  • CrownieCrownie Member Posts: 228
    Vinyl? *crickets chirping*

I'm in the US, so Batman's up for preorder on Amazon.com. :-)
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
Does anyone know what is happening on amazon.co.uk for The Empire Strikes Out?

The limited edition with minifig went from being available for pre-order in Jan, to not available. Now it is available again, but the limited edition page with "with minifigure" in the title is saying the limited edition version with the minifig is no longer available from amazon.co.uk, but the DVD can still be pre-ordered, giving another link to a page without the minifig. Yet both of the pages allow you to pre-purchase still.

Also pre-orders for the limited edition minifig version (I made one 25 Jan) now do not say "with minifig" in the title. But they are linked to the minifig page.

On amazon.co.uk it is still there as exlusive with mini figure for the SW DVD- http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Star-Wars-Strikes-Figurine/dp/B00AZICLDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361790041&sr=8-1

no sign of the batman movie though

^ I know. Read what it says in the box lower down ...

The Limited Edition with Mini Figurine is no longer available from Amazon.co.uk, but LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out is still available to pre-order on DVD.

You can still add both versions to your cart and check out.
  • CrownieCrownie Member Posts: 228
Neither the Batman Movie nor The Empire Strikes out have special listings for the bonus minifigure version on Amazon US. In fact, other than the picture provided, there's no mention of the minifigure at all. It's a bit disconcerting, but I've placed my pre-orders so I'll hope for the best.

It's kind of nice the UK listings at least acknowledge the bonus.
  • GoldchainsGoldchains Member Posts: 795
Are the bonus minifig versions coming to stores at retail? Or do you have to preorder them to get the figures?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
I asked amazon about why it says that the special edition is no longer available but that they are still accepting orders for it, and got a reply.

They confirm that they sell both a special edition version with a minifig and a normal version without. Unfortunately that wasn't the answer to the question I asked them.
  • hoyatableshoyatables Member Posts: 873
Look at Amazon's photo (at least in the US). It shows the minifig for both versions.
  • greekmickgreekmick Member Posts: 710
I ordered the Star wars DVD from Sainsburys Entertainment for £4.99 and they have dispatched today. I haven't seen the video yet so looking forward to it. Not looking forward to fighting over the minifig with my 4 year old son though.

Do we know if it's coming out on blu-ray?
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
@Huw Amazon has both blu ray and DVD available for preorder in thevUS, but the picture of the blu ray does not feature the Superman minifigure.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
^ it used to, they changed the picture... may be it was a limited edition and there is enough pre-orders.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
I know. I don't know what happened. Hopefully it is a glitch. If not I will just order DVD.
  • kyrotekkyrotek Member Posts: 212
The Empire Strikes Out Darth Vader figure features at the end of the show when he receives a medal similar to the one given to the heroes at the end of EpIV. Cartoon Network showed it repeatedly over the Xmas period and my boys have watched it a few extra times as we put it on the Virgin Box.

My only hope is these limited figures appear at retail supermarkets...

^ Asda will be selling with the Minifigure in store. My local has just had their delivery and the friendly chap who works there showed me the 6 that they have. All with the minifigure and scanning at £5.

How long will they be on the shelves before the figs are stolen?
