WTB: 8043 - Excavator

I know it is recently discontinued but does anyone have an "extra" 8043 they would like to sell me for a decent price? I also have some stuff I could trade if interested. Just let me know what you have (new or used) and what you want for it. Thanks!

FYI - Some TRU still have left overs which you can price match the online price. Definitely worth paying retail at this point.

Try Amazon.de. You should be able to get one for not much more than RRP including a reasonable shipping cost.

John Lewis Oxford St and Peter Jones have these on the shelves (certainly did at 5pm today), for £138.10, which is less than RRP.

Are you anywhere near London?

If you can get to another branch of John Lewis, and they don't have any on the shelf, you can ask them to transfer stock to your nearest branch.
The stock number is 786 40326.

Thanks for the help guys. I am in Vancouver Canada.

My local Toys R Us does still have them but at $269.99 + tax. Technic often goes on sale there so I am waiting for that to happen.

Does anyone know if they are still available in stores in the US at a lower MSRP?

8043 retired a few months ago, waiting for a sale is dangerous, unless you're ok to go without.

@legofantexas I am OK to go without... I guess. I wrote it off but I keep seeing it around and just seems too cool to pass up on. With as many sets on my wanted list as there are maybe it needs to drop off but figured i'd try to fit it into the 'budget' if I could.

A budget? For LEGO? That is an impressive feat! ;-)

If you are really that taken with this set, I'd snap it up now before prices really begin to increase at a rapid pace.

Better to get it now and enjoy it, than to be kicking yourself under the table by this Christmas when the set is close to double RRP!
