Wanted: UCS Y-Wing Part

BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
I need help in seeking out 1 piece I can't seem to find on Bricklink or Ebay. Was wondering if anyone out there had a UCS Y-Wing #10134 parted out and happen to have one of the dark bley hoses available:

Its a cheap part, just hard to find. So if any one can help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried calling LEGO Customer Service? It's a long shot, but you might get lucky.

I *may* have some extra. I can check for you in a few hours.

You could also buy a longer hose and just trim it down as well.

^^^It's long out of production so I didn't think to, but will give them a call just in case.

^Thought about cutting it as suggested, but because its a UCS set, I don't want to take a short cut. I bought it as open bags but new/unused months ago with only 1 of the hoses missing. They rarely pop up on BL and I missed it when they did earlier this morning, hence the post in my frustration. So if you have an extra, that would be super @Renny! Do please let me know.

I just checked. I'm sorry but I only have the 16.8cm length 3mm Dark Bluish Grey rigid hose. If you do decide you want one and then trim it down to 11.2cm let me know and I can send a few over to you.

Thanks for checking on it. I'll get back to you if it boils down to shortening one. Appreciate the help Renny!

Shortening one is very easy, it is more rubbery than rock hard plastic, cuts easily with a craft knife or stanley blade, not hard to make a crisp and square cut. Bought 4 x the long ones for my UCS MF and shortened 2 of them to make the medium and short ones - was so much cheaper than buying 2 of each in long/medium/short.

If you bricklinked it, would you even know if the seller has cut one down?
    FollowsClosely

^^Wouldn't it be a different shade of gray on the cut end?

Brickdancer: Not unless the uncut surface had faded/yellowed with time. Cutting it sharply doesn't stress it to give white stress lines.
