North of England AFOL meeting

A date for your diary ... Sunday 3rd February, 10 am to 4 pm at St Philips Community Centre, Higher Dean Street, Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, UK Post code: M26 3TE.

This is a meeting for all AFOL's, but to be honest we expect those from across the North of England to attend. I welcome you to come along, bring a moc (which would be very nice to see) and say hello to some fellow brick fanatics.

Just to clarify, this is an AFOL only event, free of charge but no members of the public expected.

Refreshments and welfare will be catered for and there will be a raffle to help raise a bit of cash to pay for the hire of the room. If you can bring along a little something for the raffle, that would be just perfect.

I'll be planning on stopping by, is it an all day thing?

We have the lounge area of the Centre from 10 am to 4 pm (as stated above).

Sorry when I said an all day thing, I meant are people getting there at 10 and will be there be enough to do to keep you there until 4, or is it more of a stop by for an hour thing?
  • ame_uwagiame_uwagi Member Posts: 41
Ah, I see. Thanks jockosjungle, for raising that.

People are invited all day and arrive anytime they can/want to. I appreciate some may only be able to attend for a brief time. Nevertheless, all are welcome just to 'pop-in' if they wish.

The primary intention is for AFOLs to meet and have a chat over a mocha and a moc :-D

I've booked the room until 4 as beyond that I will have to pay more.

    Can we bring our children?
  • ame_uwagiame_uwagi Member Posts: 41
It's not a show event and so far, apart from mine there are no confirmed models to display. I'm not yet certain what type of game/challange etc. to have.

I'm not saying a direct no, but as long as you realise the set up is for adults then the choice is yours.

Where (location) are you coming from?

If you are the 'jockosjungle' from Warrington, I'll bring along my Ukelele

Just a reminder that this gathering is a week tomorrow. Post here if you are coming.

Hi all, here is a reminder: Sunday 3rd February, 10 am to 4 pm at St Philips Community Centre, Higher Dean Street, Radcliffe, M26 3TE.

Some will be bringing LEGO to sell and trade so there is a good chance to pick up some goodies. You can always bring anything to sell or trade yourselves (no charges for 'table hire') and, of course, a moc or two.

To those who were able to attend the gathering yesterday, a big thanks. I know some of you travelled a far bit, others just down the road. I for one appreciate you coming along; I hope you had a good time.

For those I have an email address for I have sent you more info. For those I have only their Brickset moniker to go off ('tyosolo' and 'jockosjungle') if you want more, my email address is on my profile page; send me a line.

    Ta Robert
