best way to clean CMF's

Just wondering on the best way to clean my mini figures (and the black base plates) as they gather dust. I tried a cloth but it doesn't get inbetween studs

Is it possible to just rinse with water or can that take some of the print away?

    It is perfectly safe to wash LEGO with water, including printed pieces (not stickers or electric pieces though). Remember, LEGO is designed for kids! It is meant to take a lot of use and abuse! A little water is not going to hurt your LEGO in any way...(c;

    You can try using a small paint brush on a periodic basis. Then go with soaking in warm water and dish soap if it needs it, followed by air drying on towels with direct fan air current over them while moving them about every now and then until dry. If water is still locked in the cracks, you can try a salad spinner to remove the last bits.
