Not sure if this was posted already or not but I saw Series 9 at the Milwaukee Lego store today. Picked up a few for the stockings.

I saw them at the LEGO store in San Diego too. Said they just put them out today. I got all 16 and my girl friend grabbed a couple too. They also had all the Super Hero sets and Hobbit sets. I forgot to check for Galaxy Squad.

Will the Lego stores sell a sealed box?

So much for the teaser poster with release stating 3-13-2013
Glad I've just about got all of the series 8 I want.

They are really ramming these out. I now agree with others, they are releasing them too quickly. Two sets a year would be much better for everyone.

I have heard parents and children complain about this while out getting my own sets.

Orginal release was supposed to be for the start of 2013 w/ UK getting it earlier then that being normal. Last thing i was expecting to see was the states getting it already. This is going to be a major problem on my end. I have no clue when we are going to target again and i was hoping to score another santa and cowgirl.

However i am glad that the lego company has the common sense to get out a product that will be popular for christmas unlike the nintendo company refusing to release Animal crossing new leaf, except for in japan, b4 christmas even though AC is a very popular line.

I wasn't planning on getting many but i might just get a few others(either chosen or random) just to give a little more business to a company with a working brain.

Agreed, LEGO needs to slow down with these..
What I find interesting is that about a week ago I checked on eBay and saw no one pre-ordering these, except two people requesting outrageous sums of money to sell you a pre-order box..
I really hope this is not the new trend.
Id much rather buy one box and be done with it than trying to find sets in a store, especially when people try to cherry pick the rarest or 'best' figures

^ same here. I emailed the ebay seller i bought my series 7 and 8 boxes from to see if he was going to do them again.. will see if he responds.

Picked up my Series 9 today. Thought I had all 16, but was tricked once by the Fortune Teller cards and thought it was the Police Officer ticket. So, I have 15 of the 16, and some other dupes I wanted.

I haven't checked my 16 but I did remember that there were two with the 2x1 tiles.

The plumber is my new favorite minifigure. Not because of the figure so much, but because the plunger actually sticks to stuff! My plumber has been hanging off the metal vent hood over my stove for 21 minutes now, his weight being held solely by the plunger.

I'm tempted to get a plumber just to try that.

^^I guess that opens a whole new frontier in SNOT building. Attaching parts via suction. :)

No it wouldn't. It might be better for those with less money to spend on them, or people that want to collect them all by buying them individually rather than as a box and so need them to be around on the shelves for a long time. But some people just want individual minifigs multiple times over and are not interested in collecting the whole series. For most series, maybe half of the series interest me enough to want them, and of those maybe 3-4 are ones I want multiples of. So I love it that they are bringing out a new series every 3-4 months. It gives great variation in the characters available for me to pick and chose, at a reasonable frequency.

Well, after all my griping about the difficulty of finding female minifigs in this series, I 'think' we ended up with all the ones we wanted. I need to double check after we open them tonight.

So, What is the number of each figure per box? I'm not sure if anyone has listed the figure count per box. Are there still at least 3 per a fig in the boxes? Or did LEGO do something stupid and have a couple of figures that there are only one of?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
It was in another thread but here it is again.

Seems like in a box of 30 you'll get...
1: Waiters, Hollywood starlets, roller derby girls, fortune tellers, forest maidens, plumbers
2: Roman emperors, Chicken suit guys, Judges, Mermaids, Battle mechs, Mr Good/evil
3: Cyclops, Knights, Policemen, Alien avengers
Box of 60 is just double that. Confirmed myself with the box I bought after Christmas.

^So are they in 2 boxes of 30 figs with an outer box that holds the 2 smaller boxes? or is it still just a single large box of 60 figs?

Thank you for listing it again.

so... only 2 each of the rare figures per box? Is this another one of those 'early bird' specials where the later boxes will have at least 3 of a rare fig or what?

I also think that if LEGO is seriously limiting the rares to 2 per box that they are going to be shooting themselves in the foot.

^^ I'm not sure where the 30 boxes are available if at all, but the 60 box I got from the Lego store was the same as the ones I got for series 6 7 and 8 which was just one box with 3 rows of 20 in it. No internal boxes.

I get my sealed boxes from MinifiguresPlus. Shipping is free at least in the US. I just pre-ordered a box today :)

Hi Graphite, did you manage to check how many figures of each in your box?
Was it the same breakdown as white fang's review in eurobrick, where there were only two complete sets?

We finally found series 9 figures at one of our Lego stores. I don't know if it's just me, but this set seemed really easy to feel. My fiancee and I have been using the feel method since I came out of the dark ages almost a year ago then converted her, and this set seemed really easy to identify. We were able to get every minifgure including extras that we wanted. Maybe practice just makes perfect.

@lovelego Yes. I mentioned it in my post above the one you quoted.

Do you know if TRU honors the $25 off $100 spent on LEGO via the store pickup route?
  • jagdjhjagdjh Member Posts: 95
^ I've wondered the same thing, especially since right now they are on sale/down to MSRP online. I think you have to pay for store pick ups online though and the deal is in store only.

^^^ You may want to make sure that the minifigs are included in the promo before you buy. I was in TRU today and feel like the signs specified it was $25 off $100 'construction' sets.

At mine, they will only do this if the online price is the same as in-store. Otherwise, they consider the lower online price already a discount which won't stack with any other offer.

I called my local TRU last night and they were willing to give me the promotion as long as the LEGO is in stock at the location. Unfortunately, they were sold out of series 9.

Got the last two at my TRU... Cyclops, and the one I call Zombie Space Marine. Really wanted the Battle Mech... Maybe next time. They had one last series 7 fig as well.
