    thanks.
can't make my mind up if I really want it. There is something about the latest batcave and arkham asylum that I think is slightly inferior to the previous incarnations, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

Will this be a pre-order or a actual order?

    Thanks

^^^^ Holy God! Why are the prices so inflated in Australia?
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
Is this an exclusive?, i.e. harder to find goo discounts?

Because we are the lucky country :)

GST, Higher Wages, better working conditions, better Health care, that's what they tell us anyway......plus we are all convicts so half of us just steal it :P

I still don't think it justifies the amount of mark-up though.

Seems Licensed themes are hit the most.
    SW MF $249.99
    SW IS $449.99
    SW DS $699.99
    SW SSD $699.99

Everything is expensive in Australia. Usually about twice the price as the USA.

Try buying stuff in New Zealand, it is even worse!

Ugh.. Moving from USA to Australia is going to murder my wallet. Anyways, I really like the set and badly want a Scarecrow.

Well, for one thing, it's in an isolated corner of the globe, so it costs an arm and a leg to ship stuff to a country with less people than the combined population of Florida and South Carolina.

For another, and people often forget this, most of the world - developed and undeveloped - charges import tariffs on imported consumer goods. While the U.S. is no exception, it's import tariffs are probably the world's lowest.

Construction toys made of plastic is a specific category addressed by USITC. The import duty on this category from the EU is 0%. Most of the world, including Canada and Australia, is probably paying a 10-20% import duty.

^Not if you live in the US, but I am happy for you!
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
^ Cheers, the US do still get good advantages though such as great prices (excluding Toys R Us) and plus there's a lot of 2013 sets out there already, the only good thing is that I get this set before most of the US do :-) (only advantage for me)

I went to the lego shop today only to be told its not out until tomorrow so gutted.

^^Very true. I cannot complain about price relative to other countries. And I did take advantage of the Amazon 2013 sets before Amazon halted availability. Btw, the shop at home release date is now Dec 27th.

    ^ A few days earlier, that's slightly a positive :-)

    Oohhh... Mind.Blow.

I ordered this set on [email protected] yesterday. And this evening, getting back from work... It's already waiting for me at home! Not sure if I've ever had such a quick [email protected] delivery: probably less than 24 hours between making the order and receiving it! Guys and girls at the Lego warehouse and at the delivery service all deserve a good Christmas bonus, as far as I'm concerned!

Bought three copies at my local TLG-store and was rewarded with two PaB-boxes:)
The whole building is pretty nice (those frontgate statues are awesome!!!)but i feel like the figure selection is kinda lame,at this pricepoint a little more "exclusivity"would've been much appreciated!

Does the Bat vs Bane tumbler chase set include a code for the PC version of the LEGO batman game 1 game? Thanks
