Winter Village sets post-Christmas pricing

I was showing the winter village sets to my girlfriend today and she wants me to buy them. I'm okay with waiting until after Christmas to see if there are any deals. Do they typically go on sale past Christmas? Here in Canada they don't seem to be sold by TRU or WM so my options for buying are limited, and I don't want to pay the ridiculous Canadian price premium.

In store (LEGO brand store) they will get discounted, at [email protected] they will only get discounted when being discontinued.

@odueck - If you call the B&M stores, they will ship to you with the discount.

Cool. I can probably get my brother to pick them up at a B&M store for me.

How much have they been discounted at the B&M stores in the past years?
  • cbaker1974cbaker1974 Member Posts: 150
Mine has marked them down 30%, they usually sell out at that level

Do the B&M stores usually discount on the 26th?

Are these discounts likely in UK B&M stores too?

The Holiday Train was released in 2006 and discounted 50% the following year (oddly enough in November). The Toy Shop and Bakery were discounted 30% a year after their release (post holidays). I don't recall the Post Office being discounted last season or this season. LBR may have realized that they can just store the sets and sell it full price the following year.

If the stock levels are high enough to last through the holidays, you can take a wait and see approach. However, you may very well be waiting for nothing, in which case I imagine you'll have some regret.

Buy now to be safe, return/rebuy later if it's worth your while.

@rocao, the Holiday Train was a 2007 Black Friday special at the LEGO stores.
I remember it well because it was my first LEGO set purchase - 50% off for $44.99.

You can build anything out of lego. Getting it to work is the problem.
