[US] Lego Hobbit 30212 & 30213 TRU product code.

I have been trying to locate these 2 poly bags at TRU. I can't check to see if they have had any delivered because I don't know the product code.
They can't seem to find the product code either as the only place they said they can look for it is on the website and neither of the bags are listed on the internet.
If someone could check their receipt to see if the product code is on there I would be grateful.

Cheers

Jon

    30212 is 673419188975

I could use 30213 as well if anyone has it.

    @TheCultLeader, @graphite thanks guys!

Guys, thanks for the information. Those are the UPCs. TRU also should have a 6 digit code to the left of the price. That is the code they typically use to look things up. Any chance of getting that, too?

#30212 is also back on their website; this time with store pickup.
^That 6 digit code seems to be 909592

I was so disappointed when the Mirkwood Elf poly was pulled from the website before I got a chance to order it last week....but I just ordered two, and the order qualified for the BOGO half off LEGO deal! So I got both for $8 with store pickup! What a great start to my day!
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
^^Same here. In stock for store pickup at all 3 nearby TRU locations to me as well. BOGOHO was a nice bonus!

I don't see it on the site. Did they pull it again?

Yes, yes they did. Grrr ...

@GOSHE7 Did you get the "Ready for Pickup" email yet? It's been five hours and I've yet to receive mine.

If you don't get a "ready for pickup" email, that could mean the store doesn't actually have it in stock (or it just cannot be located). If you do get the email and ordered multiple items, check it to see what is shown to be ready as orders may be processed partially if an item is not found.

@HELLRAZR_28 If you have not received the email by now the store has likely cancelled the order. The employees who fill these orders by finding the items in the store to put the order together have many other tasks and are not going to spend a lot of time looking for items for an $8 order at this time of year.

I looked and could find no 6 digit product code for 30213 either on the receipt or the bag itself.

I did make the trek up to my local TRU last night to see if I could get more to send to a few people for some more Uruks, but they didn't have really ANY polybags of any type out (except for a couple older City ones.) All the Mirkwood Elves that had been there on Wednesday last week were gone, and there were no Gandalfs to be seen. Perhaps some stores just won't be getting them at all?
  • HELLRAZR_28HELLRAZR_28 Member Posts: 61
@NeilJam Thanks for the intel. Is there any recourse for an order that was cancelled? Any chance I could get Customer Service to ship the items to me instead?
  • NeilJamNeilJam USAMember Posts: 271
Sorry, I don't think there is a way to save that order unless you can get a customer service rep to honor those prices later if the items are in stock online again.

One of these may also be a free promo item in the future, which may be why Mirkwood Elf was pulled from the site and/or store inventory. TRU stores often set items like this aside until the promotion takes effect, but Lego polybags often end up being put out early, then pulled from the pegs until the promo starts.
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
@HELLRAZR_28 I'm still waiting for ready notification. I haven't received a cancellation notice either. I was kind of surprised to see them in stock at all 3 local stores. I wonder if that (and the brief appearance on the TRU website) was more of a system error.
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
@NeilJam I still have some hope that my order will go through. I was able to order some of the Batman jetskis for store pickup when they first came out. Even though I never saw them on shelves until the promo, TRU apparently pulled my store pickup order from their backroom inventory.
  • HELLRAZR_28HELLRAZR_28 Member Posts: 61
@GOSHE7 I never got the "ready" email, but I sent someone to the store for me anyways; it turns out that the system has been down all day, and none of the online orders have been touched yet. The people at the store said a truck had arrived but they hadn't unloaded the items, and that the polybag was probably on the truck. It should be ready tomorrow.

I just tried to get some mirkwood elves. Their computer showed 40 in stock but after no luck finding them I was told it was a shipping mistake and they didn't actually have them. For some reason I don't believe them.
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
^ With the holiday season TRU is loaded with temporary hires and lots of stock coming in and out. I'm not surprised that combination was unable to find what they were supposed to have in stock...
  • bachamnbachamn Member Posts: 3
I created an account just to post this update Re: 30212.

I called my local TRU store and gave them the R# provided above (909592) which I can confirm is correct. The associate told me that they had plenty in stock, but I asked her to check the shelves before I came in and after 5 minutes she came back and told me they weren't on the shelves because they aren't authorized to be sold until December 16th.

Maybe this has something to do with this particular polybag qualifying for the BOGOHU sale? The sale now specifically indicates that 'Hobbit' sets are excluded from the sale, so I'm assuming this is unintentional. Still, seems an odd practice to ship product and have it held in the back, especially so close to Christmas?
  • MilesMiles Member Posts: 51
I really appreciate you creating an account for the update. I wanted 3 of them myself, but it seemed ridiculous to pay the BrickLink price for something that will be in stock again down the road. Looks like I'll wait a bit.
  • bachamnbachamn Member Posts: 3
Yep, I wasted a trip to the store yesterday in search of some myself but without the R# the employees can't find anything in their system that isn't listed on the website. After I found the R# here I figured I'd follow-up. Looks like all the ones currently out on the market are the result of certain stores putting out their stock ahead of time. ;)

I guess considering that the ones currently on sale in the marketplaces are technically pre-releases it's not as bad that they're overpriced, but I'll save my money and wait a few weeks.

FWIW, I went to pick up some other Lego items from TRU today and picked up both 30212 and 30213. They had plenty on a hanging rack right by the Lego section.

For some reason 30213 didn't ring up as part of the BOGO sale, but it was also $3.99 vs. the usual $4.99 poly price at TRU. The clerk overrode the price and gave it to me for $2, so I was happy.
  • graphitegraphite USMember Posts: 3,262
@avoiceoreason does your receipt show the 6 digit number for 30213?
  • avoiceoreasonavoiceoreason Member Posts: 224

Nope, it only has the UPC code number.
  • jagdjhjagdjh Member Posts: 95
I found this Star Wars Star Destroyer poly http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=30056-1 today at Meijers for $3.99. They also had Ninjago Hidden Sword http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=30086-1 and City Mining Quad http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=30152-1for $3.49 each.
  • NeilJamNeilJam USAMember Posts: 271
The Mirkwood Elf polybag is going to be a free promo item beginning 12/2. TRU stores that have already put it out should be taking them off the pegs until the promo starts Sunday.
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
^ They better get on it... Stopped by a TRU this evening where I had managed to place an online order for 4 Mirkwood Elves (which oddly enough is still not ready for pickup). Found a shelf basket full, qualified for the current BOGOHO.
  • HELLRAZR_28HELLRAZR_28 Member Posts: 61
@goshe I called my ToysRus in Miami today, and they said they had hundreds of store pick-up orders to process, which is why no email has been sent yet. The order should be ready by the end of the week......*clenches fist*

The product code for Gandalf is 904623.
  • HELLRAZR_28HELLRAZR_28 Member Posts: 61
The store employees were looking around for an hour before they found it on one of the side shelves, stuffed with other polybags. But I ended up getting both of my Mirkwood Elves!
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
I got my store pickup notification today. And it really was there! So not quite as smooth as the usual online order, but in the end I got all that I expected.
  • goshe7goshe7 Columbus, Ohio, USAMember Posts: 515
Looks like 30213 is now listed in stock online for shipping and store pickup. $3.99, does not qualify for BOGOHO.
  • JosephJoseph Member Posts: 651
Incase someone wants the link: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=17792396
It has Lego in the name now; I wonder if that means they added it to the system entry and thus will qualify for sales that don't exclude hobbit sets.

^ funny that it is listed in the LEGO Games section...

I can also confirm what NeilJam said. I had my local TRU look up the Mirkwood Elves and they said they had them in the back, but they were listed as a "product hold" until Dec. 2nd. It appears there is only 40 per box and my closest store only had one box. YMMV.

^My store put the Mirkwood Elves out early, appeared to also be around 40 of them. I checked and they did ring up under the BOGO 50% off. No Gandalf polys though.
  • pumperxpumperx Member Posts: 106
My store has plenty of Gandalf but no Elves yet.

One TRU i was in yesterday had Gandalf polys and they honored the BOGO.

#30213 is free with a $25 Lego game purchase this week so that's probably why it's filed under games.

Another Entry in the TRU Elf Saga:

I called my local TRU today and confirmed that they had 30 of the Elf polybags in stock, though the woman rather rudely told me she wasn't able to hold any for me. (Maybe I'm more naive than I thought, but every retail place I've worked at has had no problems with holds. Huh. Must be a toy thing.)

So...I drive all the way out there to be told that the polybags are being held in "overstock" for a promotion. The customer service woman couldn't tell me what promotion, or when the promotion would start, or well, anything really. She just wouldn't sell them to me.

    So, typical TRU experience, really.

I may be driven to paying Bricklink prices, lol.

^ Show up dressed like your Wolverine figure and they should sell the figures to you, no problem! It helps if you bring some members of your friendly local motorcycle club as backup.

^^ Miles, I feel your pain. On Wednesday my local TRU said they had them in back, but they were on hold until today. I went there this morning, checked the Lego isle and no luck. I went back to the service desk and the same woman who told me they would be available today said they probably sold out already, but I asked if she'd check again. They were all still in the system and she thought they should be on floor but didn't know where, so she called a manager.

This time, the manager told me they were on hold until the 16th. There is supposed to be a promotion starting on the 16th where you get a free Elf with a purchase, but she no additional details about the promo. The only bright spot was that she said they should still be available for individual purchase, but I don't trust anything they say at this point. I swear a team of drunken circus monkey's could run that store better!

Any word if there are plans for #30212 to come to Canada?
  • ElbazElbaz Member Posts: 7
I'm very confused about the Mirkwood Elf polybag. Many people have noted that they've seen it in their TRU stores, but I've had no luck at several locations. I've also heard that it is included as a promotion beginning today, but see no evidence of this at the TRU site.

Are these going to be generally available at some point or only available at TRU? I'd like a few, but they seem to be very elusive!
  • NeilJamNeilJam USAMember Posts: 271
@Miles It's too bad the person you spoke to on the phone didn't see (or realize) that the item was in a product hold and therefore unavailable. Although you should have been able to get it today. My store tried to put them back for product hold after putting some out, then couldn't find many of them. The next day there was a bunch on the pegs. :)

I don't know if TRU has any chain-wide product hold policy or not. My store usually does product holds, but not during the holidays. Probably in part to avoid a situation of customers seeing a hot item being held for a customer when they want to purchase the same item.

Of the four TRU stores I visited within the last week only one store had the Mirkwood Elk polybag for sale. I pickup up many since they qualified for BOGO 50% off. I asked a sales rep at one store and he said he couldn't locate the item in their system. I didn't pursue further since it was worth my time.

Haha, I know you'd think so, but some of those TRU ladies scare me...going in there during the holiday season is a bit like stepping into a war zone.

Though if some members of the local motorcycle gang wanted to act as a distraction while I 'liberated' some elves from their storeroom prison...

    ;-)

Sunday morning in Miami. Found the 30212 Elves on the checkout line pegs at my local TRU. Haven't seen that in a while.

On Wednesday, went to a different TRU and located an unopened box of 50 stowed away in the board game aisle. They rang up without a problem (nope, not rich enough to buy all 50). So, no system hold... no issues... just not on the floor but high in the rafters.
  • teal93mr2teal93mr2 USAMember Posts: 981
@krklint: My local TRU had the same thing going on. They had 3 x 50 at least, maybe 4 boxes. I picked up a few and left the rest for others to find.
