I've been busy re-working my original 4-6-0 with a new mechanism, then thought "why not go whole hog and rebuild it as a Pacific?" And then, several hours later, it came out of LDD...
And then some minor tweaks later, plus importing it's tender and doing some tweaking of the cab base...

Still got to find somewhere for the whistle though. If you're wondering why the tender striping seems off, the tender isn't flush with the track, and the centre line is a brick high on the tender but only 2 plates high on the loco.

Never had a Technic set before so opened the seals on #42054 two nights ago, looked at the mass of Numbered 1 bags and decided before I start I need to get myself a good sorting tray!

Finished up #70905 today and then did #70902. Lots of new (at least to me) parts. Also both sets came with spares of the new utility belt pieces.

My only issue with the Batmobile is that the tires don't spin very well with the wheels pushed onto the technic axles to accommodate the hub caps. I may try kidding it with a bit longer axle to see if that helps.

just finished building #75155 Rebel U-wing Fighter.
love the build, love the model.
    wish it was bigger.
    but still love it.

^ looks good, I have been wanting to order the speak easy instructions for a while now. Was it expensive to source the parts for the building?
  • ecmo47ecmo47 North CarolinaMember Posts: 2,088
I built it a couple years ago so I do not specifically remember. I will say that I never had a large MOC that wasn't relatively expensive regardless of how many pieces I already had.

done with the fortrex. the inside looks very full, which is not common for a lego castle.

I got the Claas tractor as well. Cracked it open yesterday and spent half an hour pouring the various tiny bags into an old advent calendar insert, everything else is on a big tray on the kitchen table.

All set to go, spent a couple of hours last night and a bit of time spreadout during today.

Currently somewhere around step 180, got the motor in and the steering is functioning. Its a great build.

Finished number 2 bags of #10253.  I'm sure it'll be an impressive model next to TB.  But like TB, the build feels very repetitive.
  • mmozzanommozzano UKMember Posts: 413
@Speedman29 very organised! I've just got a large plastic tub I've put all the technic beams in and another for everything else!

I'm still only at step 70, friends round tonight so might get an hour on it tomorrow.

@Bumblepants thanks for the great idea with Ragana's castle!  I'm always looking for ways to encourage my daughter to MOC the official builds in subtle ways.

The news from last week had me wanting to build some Star Wars. So I did something older, the oldest thing I had, a Home One set, though I kind of pooped out and decided not to actually finish the set. Anyone else think Mon Mothma looks like Anakin in drag?

Then I wanted to do something really new, so I went with newest thing I had, the TIE Striker. I never dug how it looked in pics. Funny thing is that most pics do not do it justice. Nor does this one. But as I type this I'm looking at it and it's cool looking from so many angles it must look pretty cool on screen. Just one of those odd things. The Interceptor doesn't shoot well either in still photography.

    Spoiler alert:
the rest of the Home One is booooring.
  • blogzillyblogzilly Columbus, OhioMember Posts: 598
^The rest sits in bags, which sits in my bins, which sits on my shelf, awaiting sorting into drawers and other bins when I get them set up. I just don't have to desire to build it. Probably why that set, which had been opened months earlier, had sat so long. I only started building what I had because of the desire to build something old. Had all the minifigures not been in bag one I might have opened 2 or 3, but otherwise saw no need.

Just finished bag 3 of the Mercedes Arocs truck - halfway through, with the main chassis underpinnings and gearing done. The cab shell/interior, the crane (and associated hydraulics) and the tipping bed. The alternative build is even longer than the behemoth standard build and looks like it could lend itself to easily replicating G1 Optimus Prime (inc trailer) with some colour substitutions and additional panel parts. Bargain for £82!

Been progressing my XXL Batcave/Wayne Manor too, but run out of certain parts again.

Built the #60151 Dragster Transporter this evening. So much fun. Even applied the stickers though I do it poorly. I love when they have female Drivers. I think City should have a lot more females in typically male dominated roles. They do, I just want a few more and with hair sticking out.

    33 minidolls

One of my ongoing projects is an audience for #41105 Pop Star Show Stage. I take figs from sets I part out, and mix and match parts from duplicates.

I decided to open 21 #30399 and use several other duplicates. It's fun to build instead of handle inventory. I have some extra pieces so I'm BrickLinking enough to make complete figures and resisting the temptation to order more.

I've been meaning to build more seats. I see a deal on a large quantity of more minidoll foot holders (part 93905, 1x2x1 panel with divider)

Yeah, LEGO is making progress with having more female minifigures. The businesswoman, painter and lawnmower operator in #60134 come to mind. The starter sets are 1 in 4 women. Some other themes have a similar mix of main characters, which seems like a good balance between idealism and realism. It is easier with hair since that's one way to make the fig female.

Are you telling me the world is actually about a 50/50 split male/female? Not the 70/30 LEGO has at the moment?

It could be worse- it used to be about 90/10.

Do you have something to sell me? I'm easy to part from my money when it comes to Lego ;)

I mainly order from [email protected] when there's an interesting GWP or double VIP. However [email protected] EU this month is only offering a free #30378 Shrunken Headquarters with any Nexo Knight purchase, and as I don't collect this theme I'll have to spend my money elsewhere this month :)

5 of 6 stages of the Arocs done. I left the cab bit to last (to test out the hydraulics and motor functions) and realised that the lift piston in the tipper mechanism was in upside down. Its anchoring at one end (with the cogs) is buried quite deep in the chassis so I had to pull one side to bits to get to it. All working ok now, just another 90 mins or so to complete it.

Continue to build the biggest of the first five SW:R1 sets, #75156 Krennic's Imperial Shuttle.
Does not look like much yet having only completed the first bag (which also contains Krennic and the two Death Trooper minifigures) yesterday.

@blogzilly Thank you! Pretty much winging it - I googled 'modern architecture apartment building' for some ideas and I've based the balconies and larged curved windows on this apartment, but other than that I'm just freestylin'. Hopefully it all pulls together!

Just completed the Disney Castle during the holidays.  Install the light and surprisingly looks great.  This LED light was bought from xmas clearance and was supposed to put on a wreath for the next xmas.  I regret not to get more..
what unit is that? it look's like a Ikea one.

Yes, this is IKEA Besta storage system.  The castle is taller than one shelf (one door height), you will need to adjust the interior shelf height.  The light is battery operated bought from Target.

I've spent almost 9 hours over the last few days building a large octagonal tower.

It is not at all easy to build a large, sturdy octagonal tower out of Lego.

    I'm about two-thirds done.

Sorting and preparation works done for the Venator by Anio from EB.
Orders still in their boxes (the 2 Deathstar inner boxes are temporary storages used by 2 orders that were done for this project earlier). The boxes in the background are the permanent storage and not part of the orders

After all got repacked to cardboard boxes for easier access (those get relayouted for the build)
