Now building #10123 Cloud City from collection! Going along pretty well so far, with very few color/piece substitutions. As you prob. know, this set has numerous exclusive (& expensive) elements, so I'm cutting corners where need be.

So far I've got the dining area & the carbonite freezing chamber done. Trying to finish in conjunction with Christmas & all the SW sets my son is getting :)

Was all stoked to start building the Winter Train that came today. Box was hammered by shitty Lego Store packaging. I open stuff, but I keep all materials and I expect it not to look like a Gorilla tried to f**k it.

They always send me crap boxes on large stuff I should have known. Will have to call for a return. Bugger...I'm steamed.

Finished 41180. As usual for minidoll sets, I remove or redesign furniture with smooth surfaces that figures can't actually use. The scale of the tower was impressive and as with many sets, I liked the little details. Getting out Brick Bank to finish later.

Putting together my recent eBay find #9463 The Werewolf #9465 The Zombies and #9466 The Crazy Scientist and his Monster only £90 all 3 used but 100% complete (No Boxes) which I thought was a more than reasonable price not very seasonal but as we usual binge on Christmas themed horror movies this time of year quite appropriate for us

Having fun with the small stuff still. Wondering when I'll tackle a larger project. And...having way too much fun with image apps...WOOHOO! Well, at least one was an Image Resizing app...

This is a bit of a cheat since it's not really what I'm building right now, more what I finished building a couple of weeks ago and have to take down tomorrow. It's a Christmas scene I've set up in work. I've covered over the shop sign since I don't really want people on the internet to know where I work.

I ran out of white plates so there's a lot of grey and green on the ground.
I sympathise! I think the only solution is to go for a non-LEGO white base, which would allow you to spread things out a little more as well. I'm going to go down that route and dismantle the baseplates on my display.

A couple of 100(0) white tiles would also work ;)

Yes, I realised it would look better with the paper I spread around underneath the whole thing and then thought I should just have put everything on the pages in the first place!

There isn't much room to spread out more than it already is. That's why everything is kind of on top of each other.

Rebuilt #7675 AT-TE Walker after it made a nasty fall last week to make sure all pieces are accounted for. Decided to give it some company by building #7671 AT-AP Walker.
To add some Christmas flavour, they are now on Christmas presents guard duty, to prevent... euh... an attack by the Grinch? Me opening my presents early?

Just built #21027 Berlin skyline, my first Architecture set. Trying not to go down that rabbit hole: "only skyline sets, and only of places I've visited recently". So just Berlin then. *crosses fingers*
  • blogzillyblogzilly Member Posts: 598
I lost Berlin in my recent move. Can't find it anywhere. I'm hoping it turns up.

Good luck @sid3windr! I'm currently building the rest of my Christmas sets. I'll post a photo in a bit...

Suddenly I feel the urge to build the #31039 Blue Power Jet instead of finishing the Lowrider and swooshing around the living room looking for Iceman. WOOT!

After a recent thrift store find of a bin of Lego train parts, I've decided to start piecing together #7722. The bin had the engine base and complete battery car along with a couple dozen other associated pieces. I started pulling pieces from my other Lego bins last night and think I'll end up about 75% complete before having to make a BL order. I'm excited as this will be my first Lego train.

Had a quick one-day trip to Houston and was able to stop by one Target store, only found #30303. I find it a good polybag but would like a better designed car.

  • sweetness34sweetness34 Member Posts: 417
^ that has been one of my favorite poly bags recently. Between the bumper car and the mighty micros and dimensions super hero sets, I got a lot of useful parts and characters for my joker bumper car ride with lots of extra bumper cars.

I still ill need to make cars for Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman

^HAHAHA!!! Favorite post of the day. XD

While it's true that I'm a bit (lot?) OCD about order and cleanliness of my & my Sons stuff (and collecting, and my immediate surroundings, and the world in general), I've always reverted to childhood when it comes to building LEGO: just dump it and build. :D I thinks it's more than that though... I like my builds to last a while longer; becomes more of a challenge when you gotta hunt down every single piece out of a pile.

Same with the Dimensions accessory builds too, I try to piece those together by just studying the box art. :)

Oy...that would kill me. I have to be super meticulous about it when it gets up to a certain piece count or I go crazy. But different strokes...

I do get the point about making it last (that's what she...) I just watch something on TV usually to kind of make me pause a lot. Of course, that has me doing a shitload of reverses and redos. Well..that's how I make it last I suppose. ;)

My OCD makes me have all the little Lego logos facing the same direction. North/south, east/west. Makes building last longer and keeps my mind at ease lol..

I've been busy re-working my original 4-6-0 with a new mechanism, then thought "why not go whole hog and rebuild it as a Pacific?" And then, several hours later, it came out of LDD...
And then some minor tweaks later, plus importing it's tender and doing some tweaking of the cab base...

Still got to find somewhere for the whistle though. If you're wondering why the tender striping seems off, the tender isn't flush with the track, and the centre line is a brick high on the tender but only 2 plates high on the loco.
