So far I've got the dining area & the carbonite freezing chamber done. Trying to finish in conjunction with Christmas & all the SW sets my son is getting :)
They always send me crap boxes on large stuff I should have known. Will have to call for a return. Bugger...I'm steamed.
I also need to find some room for the new WV train as well.
some happy modular building til baby jesus arrives with all the presents!
#41101 friends grand hotel for my niece
#70323 jestro lair for my nephew
#41129 hot dog van for me...
i ll just grab the hot-dogs and leave the hotdog-van at their place... hopefully they wont start fighting over it, who gots to play with it when uncle is not here!
I ran out of white plates so there's a lot of grey and green on the ground.
There isn't much room to spread out more than it already is. That's why everything is kind of on top of each other.
To add some Christmas flavour, they are now on Christmas presents guard duty, to prevent... euh... an attack by the Grinch? Me opening my presents early?
The Astronomy Tower in the back is all mine, but I'm going to photograph that better when I get around to making a lightbox.
I still ill need to make cars for Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman
I was really looking forward to Gremlins. I love the two builds. I gotta say I think the tampography on the Gizmo (the white paint 'pad printing' on the brown plastic surface) is weak, weak, weak. Needs another pass minimum, maybe two to get a rich full white. Completely ruins the look of an otherwise fantastic and beautiful set of Minifigures.
While it's true that I'm a bit (lot?) OCD about order and cleanliness of my & my Sons stuff (and collecting, and my immediate surroundings, and the world in general), I've always reverted to childhood when it comes to building LEGO: just dump it and build. :D I thinks it's more than that though... I like my builds to last a while longer; becomes more of a challenge when you gotta hunt down every single piece out of a pile.
Same with the Dimensions accessory builds too, I try to piece those together by just studying the box art. :)
I do get the point about making it last (that's what she...) I just watch something on TV usually to kind of make me pause a lot. Of course, that has me doing a shitload of reverses and redos. Well..that's how I make it last I suppose. ;)
And then some minor tweaks later, plus importing it's tender and doing some tweaking of the cab base...

Still got to find somewhere for the whistle though. If you're wondering why the tender striping seems off, the tender isn't flush with the track, and the centre line is a brick high on the tender but only 2 plates high on the loco.
