Seriously, nice start to the festive season. It has inspired a question though:
In the Winter Village theme there are basically a bunch of quaint buildings with snow on them, populated by regular minifigs.
And then slap bang in the middle is Santa's Workshop. So, is the Winter Village really a North Pole village (but with no elves), is Santa's Workshop really just a promotional thing (like a Winter Wonderland theme park), or is it something else (such as putting the workshop far away from the rest of the village, so they're treated as being completely separate)? I could never justify sticking the workshop in with the rest, which is why I only bought the workshop - you have to have Santa! And a gingerbread house, because it's still fantasy, and a Christmas train, because Polar Express.
trying to limit what i have to strip down from the model ware i can i am keeping sub build (like the roof) in 1 unit so i can just place them back.
should be fun.
I guess there still will be some explaining to do when taking it to the mechanic :-D
one Mirror build of #10220 done.
did have a 1x1 tile "white" vanish on me. no idea ware it got to.
so pulled one out of my spear parts.
i am happy it look right now. not like some USA import.
Castle done, with added Cinderella and Prince Charming minidolls.
What the heck to I do with these?
Still need yo source the cockpit. I may end up buying a dark trans version, as they are a reasonable pice compared to around £9 for the clear trans original...
will do stage 3 later today i think.

Well done, all of it. Between your display and a few others... got me thinking about FINALLY collecting the winter village sets... ohhhhhhh boy.
EDIT: Maybe photoshop the Ferris Wheel in first to be sure? But I say go for it. ;)
Power pellet tree. I must google this!
Thanks for your kind words.
btw, just built a second power pellet tree!
Yesterday bought a white felt to use as a base and finally displayed them in the only table-like piece I had around that was free of electronics (read: TVs, game consoles, video players, etc.). It's very cramped, but the other option was a countertop in the kitchen (not really, the Akro-Mils cabinets are already there).
I really should be decorating the bedroom as the roof leaked badly last week and came through but I can't put this set down!
day 5 done. and i not run out of key part's yet even if i have has to sub other types and colors to get the same look.
My status is I've decided not to build the Winter stuff I bought specifically for this holiday season and put it up for Christmas. One, the move from one house to another has me running out of time. Two, my autistic/intellectually disabled son is having spikes in aggression. Yesterday he threw a 2lb iron door handle at my head. He'd probably go Hulk on the display. Can't risk it, or any other sophisticated LEGO displays out in the open, until we try some new treatment options for him, which sadly all take time to implement. Not sad because of the aforementioned. Sad just because it's effing sad. For him.
So status for the time being is just small sets that I'll store in my bedroom (has a door with a key entry) to keep my stress levels slightly lower, and maybe work on the Chestburster if the rest of my freakin parts ever show up.
Built these this weekend...time killers...and lightweight in case, well...in case they became projectiles. :)
This F1 Racecar was something Dugald and I have been talking about doing for a long time. All of the regular batteries and motors just aren't fast enough. We tried our best to keep everything light weight, but enough paneling to show the curves of a real F1.

Fastest car we've ever built by lachlan cameron, on Flickr
Technic Addict was so kind to lend us his RC buggy motors, battery pack and Michelin tires. (I am quite fond of those tires, but I checked bricklink and found the cheapest used pair to be 110$ for all 4 so yeah... not going to buy em
Dugald asked Technic Addict what he would like to see built with these motors and he was really keen on seeing a light F1 car to show off the speed of the motor. SO here you go Technic Addict! Thanks!
My brother and I sat down yesterday at 4pm, grabbed a few drinks, and built the night away. At 12pm we were done!
The car weighs 1450 grams or 3.2 pounds. Most of the weight is in the Michelin tires
Super low car for better aerodynamics
