Over the last 2 days I've put together #9462 The Mummy, #9463 The WereWolf and #9464 The Vampyr Hearse. I really wished I picked up these sooner even though I got them over 1/3 off and sort of miffed you can't get the Zombies without paying 3x the price.

Surprisingly good sets all in all.

Just finished building my MOC Train switch track station powered with a PF motor. Gotta decide how I want to create a control box out of lego so I can wire up my train table for adding more switch stations at some point.

Built Anakin's & Sebulba's podracers from Mos Espa Podrace, plus a pit droid & tool rack. Then the Flash Speeder. Also received a batch of various Star Wars minifig parts. Our clone army is growing. We have more SW sets than I thought. It's all Star Wars around here lately!

My kids & I watched some of Ep. III last night, specifically when Order 66 was issued & the clones turn on the Jedi. One son said "that's really a sad part, Dad"- which is EXACTLY how I felt about it when I saw it in the theater 10 yrs back.

I went to start building my Campervan last night, but I was quite annoyed that the bags are not numbered. Meaning I will have to open all the bags before I can start. I dont have much build space and I cant leave lego lying around because of young children.

Think I will open all the packets and put them into some sort of box and start to build that way.

Thought i'd chime in having just built Bag End and felt it worth mentioning.

Bag End looks absolutely wonderful. (ok i'm biased, as I love the Gandalf and Bilbo characters, and Bag End represents everything that is lovely about the simple life of central rural england, sorry, i mean middle earth. *cough cough*).

But even on a technical building level, there's not a lot to it, and the tricks are so simple, yet the effect of the windows and door front is perfect. (just a shame they didn't do more with the internal structure, and ceiling decor, for Gandalf to bump his head, etc).

Just built 75003 a-wing which didn't take long (applying the stickers took as long as the build) also working on a moc of vader landing on hoth with the ucs IS as a centre piece with elements of the 75014 hoth set incorporated into it aswell. Been collecting white plates, slopes and bricks for about 6 months to help me complete it but got a few days to go before its done.

Got all of my old stuff out of storage last week. Just built 6973 again and it reminded me how much I loved the Ice Planet stuff. But the real treat was finding an original blue space man among the extra parts in the bag. I know I have dozens of them in all the colors, but I didn't think any were in good condition. This one, though, is perfect. Helmet isn't broken, printing on torso looks brand new. He's definitely going on display in my house.

Discovered some odd long brown pieces are part of Droid Fighter, so I built that. Also completed #7660 Naboo Starfighter. Had to sub in several pieces from other sets & told my boys the color scheme may not look too impressive, but it turned out pretty well.

I just bought a huge collection of lego's from the early 90's....So I's in the process of rebuilding the major sets and started with The Royal Knights Castle #6090 ...Its been a while since i have built a 20 year old set and wow am I spoiled by newer sets. The numbered bags,clearer instructions and modular builds makes it sooo much easier. But on the other side its actually enjoyable having a challenge building a set. I can knock out a new set in no time but building this castle is really taking alot of time.

I have been building my entire Star Wars collection since before xmas. UCS Imperial Shuttle is done (2nd ever build) and currently on UCS Falcon (1st build) - the thing is enormous. After this Death Star and then I am done thank heavens - running out of space :D

Started helping my 4yr old build #3677 red cargo train that his grandma got him for his birthday. He got through bag one placing all the pieces himself. All I did was walk him through the instructions and place stickers. After he went to bed i placed all the stickers for bag 2, added batteries to power functions, and tested the power functions so he is ready to go tomorrow. I suspect that once bag two is built then we will build the track before all future building is put on hold so he can play with the engine for a week or so.

Got together with my childhood friend this past week end. He was the guy I used to build Lego with when I was a kid. We worked together and built a Fire Brigade for him and a Pet Shop for me. It was the last of the currently available modulars for me but Fire Brigade was his first and he is now hooked. It was a fun weekend full of childhood memories.

I agree on that one. Since the AT-AT just took me about 4.5 hours. I'm guessing DS II will take around 15 hours.

You should give it a swing with LotR also. Should be able to get Gandalf Arrives and Weathertop finished within time of Fellowship.

Definitely have that planned. I still have all my LotR sets in their boxes (first ones I bought out of my dark age...they're "technically" for my son). One day, I'll get the urge to watch the movies again and open them up.

My son and I just finished 70703, Galaxy Squad's Star Slicer. It was fun and creative build. The size, shape and stability are impressive.

Just did this one today myself! I also got an imperial landing and a darkside development kit but for some unknown reason (and for the first time) i put them neatly in my lego room for tomorrow. Every time a set/sets come in the mail they have to get done, no matter the size and time required! I just can't stop usually.. Also have a UCS Grievous and UCS IS on the way in the mail! Happy days!!

^We got the same taste in SW. It walks funny doesn't it? But its still better looking than #8129 that I also have next to it. Its the printed dishes that make this one as closest to UCS.

Nice batch, I've always wondered about the Darkside kit. Do let me know how that one works out for you. But don't rush to the IS, it deserves a special moment to fully enjoy. I had a random itch last night to build the IS again, thinking about how awesome it was finished. But alas, it must be a new one I haven't gotten to. Tough choices, but leaning towards Y-Wing over DS II & ISD. Hmm =T

Built #6075 Wolfpack Tower yesterday. Checked out the existing later castle sets, hoping to break down Vampyre Castle & use it for a Medieval castle build. Didnt find anything so I settled on 6075. It's being used as a pirate hideout.

My boys are all over the LEGO map! Refuse to let me dismantle Monster Fighters sets, but want Pirate sets built, & after watching Clutch Powers (again) want the Troll Warship built, so I placed a couple Bricklink orders for the few pieces I need. They're also trying to build #7632 Crawler Crane by themselves.

I'm building various scenery from Tolkien's universe: Bits of Emyn Muil, The Dead Marshes, Ithilien, Cirith Ungol, and Moria. Just built a small exterior hobbit hole as well.

You said you were both building SW sets while watching the films. I do the exact same thing with a lot of my Lego set building! Especially with the larger sets. It can be difficult to match things up, but it makes the experience feel so much more appropriate for me. I suppose that's a palpable sign of OCD....

^Agree completely. I'm a little kid at heart as it is; why not maximize the enjoyment of the movie with LEGO.

I am building an oldie but a goodie.... #8480 ..its my first Technic set and i'm having a blast. I'm really just bulding it to make sure all the parts are there because I intended to sell it but after all this work i'm having second thoughts...might be a keeper.

Finished the #10174 UCS Imperial AT-ST last night, it was a fantastic build (especially the legs), highly detailed and a lot larger than I expected :) (I also got this set off Craigslist for $70 and it was 100% complete with instructions). Then today I finished building #8129 AT-AT Walker and I absolutely love it, it reminds me of when I was younger and I had the motorized AT-AT, I spent days playing with that thing :)

a pre birthday splurge for myself and a good spoiling on my actual birthday and i've been doing nowt but building and shopping for lego in my spare time!
Started with #9496 Desert Skiff, just had to get this one the minifigs are awesome and the skiff itself is very good a nice little build and looks very authentic. #9462 The Mummy & #9463 The Werewolf next, I love the Monster Fighters theme they have an awesome Scooby Doo/ Saturday morning cartoons vibe. The vehicles and minifigs are excellent but the werewolf tree and mummy cart are just ok the monsters had the short end of this stick on these two sets i think!
Next up was #9498 Saesee Tins Starfighter, I like this one a lot a fun build lots of movable parts and play features and it looks good without having to put the stickers on which is a bonus pig ugly but interesting minifigs to go with it. Onwards again with Star Wars and #9497 Republic Striker Starfighter, the only reason I got this one was because it was going for just over half price if I'd have paid £40 for it I'd have felt ripped off even for a Star Wars set. I doubt the characters will resonate much unless you play Bioware Star Wars games (which I have!) and the ship is swooshable but just a little bit too dull compared to the sleeker looking jedi ships imo.
That was the end of spoiling myself now onto the birthday stuff! #9464 Vampyre Hearse, I love this one the look of the hearse is absolutely spot on a fun build and shooting a vampire out of a hearse would never get old! And on to the star of the show #10228 The Haunted House. An intimidatingly heavy box full of bags of legoey goodness. Three shiny instruction manuals a couple of thousand bricks and ten hours later and the clock from #30201 added just inside the front door struck twelve, the witching hour, and I went to bed very satisfied. A great looking set full of character and detail, and I can see it merging with the Vampyre Castle set to make an awesome MOC.
Now I just need to find somewhere to put everything!
