10143 Death Star II. Up to page 57 /100 . Nothing fiddly so far but I'm not looking forward to the Imperial Super laser part (lots of reviews regarding how tricky it is).

Finally, finally starting my lavender Market Street today. The mish-mash of parts is ridiculous.

The Marine mosaic is pretty cool....when you go to sell it, try selling it directly to the Marines....you see what the government pays for a hammer, imagine what they'd pay to have that on the wall at a recruitment center.   Can't you just hear the recruit pitch, "ya, on days when it' too hot to drill, we just play with legos inside for a while" :)

Thanks! I think either a recruit center or a Unit Command would be awesome for it. I love making them.

Just finished The Lonley Mountain; I'm glad I didn't use it for parts over displaying the set on a shelve. It and Smaug are huge; much larger than I anticipated. Is it worth £100? I would say yes since the model it sled is pretty large and that all one would cost about £70-£80. The dragons is the best dragon LEGO has ever made; its fully articulated abs poseable. I hope they avoid larger molds like these but if done right I would like them to be like this. The dragon justfiys the £20-30 increase in price since it uses many larger molds. For £50 I wish I had got two but never the less I'm happy I got one. It's definally a great set with many play features. I'd personally not get it for full price over other sets that are currently available since I still have not seen any of the movies yet. The model itself does not appeal to me over direct to consumer sets which are the sets I would prefer.

I really love this set. Smaug is amazing and the build is very enjoyable. I'm a sucker for sand green!

^That was my problem; it has a ton of sand green pieces which I could only use for Harry Potter MOCs.

Narrowing down my choices of which California Mission to create.

Not sure at the moment but tentatively Mission San Juan Bautista is in the lead.

Just finished the lego ideas minecraft village set,it was a nice and fun build consisting of 4 smaller stages. End result looks great (I am a sucker for tiles) but probably wont spend more money on minecraft sets. There are sets I like better.

Next to build will be the palace cinema,did order it this weekend and hope to get it this week.

Just picked this up in Raleigh on my way from Wilmington to Charlotte, NC.  I was just there Saturday at the Raleigh Lego store and it wasn't on the shelf, but figured I'd drop by and see it during the week when there aren't lots and lots of people there.  I'll be building this tonight in the hotel after dinner.

I've built #4706 yesterday. I had forgotten how ugly the old greys were, especially the darker shade. Other than that, I'm very happy about my first Harry Potter set. ^_^

I built #4706 yesterday as well, what a coincidence! I also built the original #4709 Hogwarts Castle. About a year and half ago I started a project to part together all of my old Harry Potter sets from my collection and buy whatever parts were missing (still need a few odds and ends). So I've finally decided to build them and check myself for completeness. It's going be a nostalgic few days as I work through nearly every set from The Sorcerer's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets. I think I'm only missing Hogwarts Express, Gryffindor Common Room, Knockturn Alley.

My kids did that one for school a few years ago....came out pretty neat.  Looking at it right now, they only did four of the arches, however.

Finally built the mixer.  Anyone underwhelmed by this set.....build it.  It's bigger than it appears even on the box.  All I could think for the build was how much thought went into that set.  Amazing.

Me and my 6 year old daughter just finished Arkham Asylum tonight (it was my b'day present and early Father's Day).

we stood back and admired it whilst my wife questioned if 'that's it?' She felt the £100 wasn't value for money. We think it was worth every penny.

one piece missing tho (grey pillar) which was a bit frustrating although not bad for a used set.

@77ncaachamps ....^ Finally got the pix to post of the San Juan Bautista Mission my boy built back in fourth grade.  He was actually baptized in this mission  in 1999, the real one, not the lego one :)

This mission is actually starting to fall down/over.  The church & park just had a meeting on it last week with structural engineers to go over what needs to be done to keep it upright....should I have suggested they bring in some lego designers to help out? ;)

Got my #10211 Grand Emporium from Ebay yesterday and put it together last night after work.  I knew it wasn't complete from the listing, but it was only missing the brush for the window washer guy and the parts to make the shopping bags.  Definitely not complaining since that's all easy things to come by.   It's probably not my favorite modular, but it leaves room in the interior to make it your own.


Now, back to my coastal themed Boardwalk, Coast Guard, and Beach layout.

I have a field trip there in a few weeks.

Will have to check it out.

Not surprised though, as the fault line literally runs in its backyard.

I'll try to update this site with my mission though I won't have time until summer because of report cards!

I've finally got the details printed onto my model of 4472 Flying Scotsman. It's 81 studs long, 7-wide, with about 1300 pieces in it. It's also got power functions built into it.

I'm extremely pleased with how the printing has turned out. :)

Last thing I build was #75052 Mos Eisley Cantina, two nights ago. Got some mixed feelings about the set.
Anyone else got this set too?
Love the minifigs, wish they had included a second sandtrooper though. Luke's speeder looks good, but it seems way too big somehow in relation to the minifigs. It has the proportions of a 1970s Lincoln Continental instead of a  compact roadster.

I love the colours, I don't believe I have any other bricks in this orange-brown nougat.
The cantina was fun to build but is so small. The set does not come with a barman either. Nor does the Dewback have any articulation points except for its jaw.
If the set wasn't as expensive as it is, I would love to buy a second one so I can MOC a bigger cantina.
Ideally, if I let my imagination run wild, TLG should release another add on Cantina set, with more different unique minifigs from that same Cantina scene from ep. IV.

I built #60091 - Deep Sea Starter Set tonight and am pleasantly surprised at what you get for the price.  Going to have to buy the Deep Sea Submarine now to keep it company:-)

I've also realised it's about the only theme where there aren't any cops or robbers.  NOT complaining, but "Deep Sea Diving Police" trying to arrest sharks could have been fun ;-)

I just built #75092. The ship is great and it comes with a great stand that I wish more space type ships came with! I did not bother building the extras although I understand others may like it.

The ground level is the flimsiest, and I remember the legs/pillars collapsing a few times as I pressed down the next height of brick. Once built, it's sturdy enough though, and it's probably the most visually arresting of all the landmark sculptures.

I agree the ground level is a nightmare, the legs collapse but once you get past that it is quite a sturdy and impressive model.
