Just finished building the 76031 Hulk Buster Smash with the kids. The Hulkbuster armor is a fun build, especially if you like mechs, but shorter than I expected. About the same height as the 76022 Sentinel and about 5-6 studs shorter than Power Armor Lex or the ExoSuit.

I have just built the Stagecoach Escape. I love how detailed it is, definitely one of my favourite sets.

^^^^^^^ Wow....I didn't expect the new Quinjet to be that much smaller then the original. So which one do you prefer?

Even though the new quinjet has a sleek look, i prefer the old one better. the new one short and The back of the new quinjet seems like it just stopped.

Got home from a week out in San Diego on business and built the #60073 that I picked up at the Lego Store at Fashion Valley.  (The employees there were especially helpful and this is the first Lego store that I've been to that wasn't packed the entire time I was there.  Was surprised to be the only customer in the store for at least 10-15 minutes.)

Just dismantling #10234 so I can use the parts to build a series 13 MiniFiguredisplay case.

Also picked up #75059 yesterday which should be fun.

I've decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on doing the Modular Avengers Tower MOC idea that I think everybody here has had at least once

Going to have to give up my Star Wars project, blow up a couple of my other larger projects for parts, and pick up at least 2-3 of the official Tower sets but I think I can actually pull it off really well.

My designs are working pretty well but I do have to figure out how to fill out 7-8 floors.

I'm also doing modular motorcycle shop (with a secret Ultra Agents base on the 3rd floor) and a modular martial arts dojo.

My year of stacking things is pretty well planned I think.
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
By the way, how big is that new Quinjet?
I'd like to add a hanger bay to one of the floors of my tower.
Would it fit into a 32x24ish area?

Good luck! It would be better if you sold off the figures between £5-10 each and you would get your money back but you have to be an avid seller and do it as soon as possible because once these become easily available then the value and hype of the figures detracts.

I don't really understand the whole figure craze
To me it's about building the model and the figs are really just accessories to that.

You're right though, I'll for sure get rid of my extras. But I won't be looking for any high amount of cash. It's just not worth the effort to me really.

I'd rather that people that want them get them. Actually, I'd prefer to trade for bricks in all honesty.

So much black, a little bit of yellow and the odd brick of trans red. My favourite. And unsettlingly a little bit of dark grey but it was necessary.

I've rebuilt my mother's Castle of Morcia today. She got it at a thrift store and it lacked a lot of pieces, but she has since accumulated quite a few of the missing pieces. There are still missing some, but it looks better than it did and it was super fun to build. (I want a castle!).

I just did the Friends Heartlake News Van. This thing was like a crayon box when you flip it over - don't understand why it needed all the different colors. I promptly modified the dish so that it would 'clear power lines' during transport. The saddest part about this set is that you couldn't technically pose the character behind the laptop as shown without additional bits. This thing needed seats!

I've also been trying to modify it to be more like a real news van, and also generated a new sticker sheet to boot.

I've built the Mill Village Raid. It's so lovely, I'm glad I got it. I wish I had more animals for the farm... at least a cow. (All the more a reason why I need the Medieval Market Village, haha!)

It's so cool: now that my daughter can assemble and disassemble her Duplo, we can both sit at the table and each play with our own bricks (and she loooooves it). So it's kind of like getting my "alone time" while playing with her.

Built #30301 Polybag Batwing, #70803 Cloud Cuckoo Palace, #70818 Double-Decker Couch last yesterday.  The Batwing was bigger than I was expecting for a polybag (I thought it would be as big as the #30300 Tumbler or #30161 Batmobile).

Side question: Is the Double-Decker couch in #70818 identical to the one in #70810 MetalBeard's Sea Cow?
  • EluneElune Member Posts: 99
^ Nice! I especially like the sandcastle.

This weekend, I have built #4183. It looks nice, but for some reason I can't put the stickers on. I can't separate them from the sticker sheet. >_>

@Elune I had that problem once. A sharp scalpel knife is the only way to get atound it, but make sure to only cut the top layer of the sheet which is not what I did. I'd also advise a ruler to cut against.

Work has commenced on my 4th mosaic.

Project: Mondrian is a 30" x 30" (4 XL base plates) representation of the original piece from 1921 that's 37" x 37". Cost has come in at a total of $200 for 2,304 pieces plus baseplates, pricey but still cheaper than anticipated. Pics to follow in about 2 months after framing is complete.

Just finished the #75059 Sand Crawler. Great model! It captures all the angles of the original very well. I was very impressed with it's sturdiness and the ability to steer and push it around. If I was eight, I'd think it was the cats pajamas as a playset!

Got my last order of parts today, will spent the week-end building #10181 Eiffel Tower, it is my 5th bricklinked project for large set, but the one with the most pieces so far.. slowly catching on the missed set from my dark ages

After a rather protracted wait for my 'Pick A Brick' order, I've been able to make some decent progress on my second Bricklinked UCS Falcon.  Unfortunately the replacement order was missing 10 6 x 8 LBG plates, so I won't be able to finish it until they arrive.

Nice work @Lobot.  Definitely on my list of things to try and do at some point!  Always frustrating when you can't continue building due to not having the parts!

My wife just built #60055 with our 5 year old & then he helped me with #75030. My wife didn't think much of the Monster Truck, build-wise she felt it pretty weak. As for the Falcon, I thought it was a fun little build (solid too), I can't understand why these are copping the flak that they are, I look forward the rest of series 1 arriving some time this week.

^ Holy crap.  Great comparison shot with Orthanc.  Crazy that both sets cost the same in the their respective eras.  If Lego re-released such a set they'd ask $400... at least.  I'd love to build it, but yeah where the heck to display such a thing unless you have a Legoland sized mini land in your basement...or backyard.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
samiam391 .. you know it could have been your Eiffel Tower in that room ;-)
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
@ColoradoBricks - True! Glad you were able to find one at the price you wanted.
