^ I knew that you were in the service but I though it was the Air Force. That Marine symbol your making is called the Eagle, Globe and Anchor or "EGA" for short.

A maglev system for automobiles which will replace the transmission and engine in personal vehicles thereby lessening worldwide dependence on oil as fuel and which operates on existing roadways. Or did you mean building with LEGOs?

That anti-aliasing, though! I would never have thought to use those brown bricks between the yellow and the black!

@plasmodium‌ yep going with what my computer program puts together.

Still having problems with the motor on my LMS 2-6-4 Fowler Class. :( I can't really see a way to solve it either. I think I'll take it to Brick 2014 and see if anyone there has any ideas.

Train Depot. I bought the original plans on eBay and then extensively reworked them. The model had some bugs to work out and I improved various features, specifically the clock tower portion and roof.

@shib we had a missing piece in the Sith Infiltrator this morning, my daughter made sure to check it wasn't hiding in the brick separator. You've forever changed the way we search for pieces :).

Just started #75052 Cantina while watching Star Wars...couldn't find Luke Skywalker's head, was about to give up...

I've found that a 1x1 tile often gets wedge inside a 2x brick.

I was convinced it was going to be in one of the Landspeeder's jets that I was left a little baffled. It was propperly wedged in the brick seperator so i didnt even see it on picking it up, wasnt until I completely flipped it!

^ Don't forget to check the bags too. I've had several occasions where a little piece gets wedged in the creases of a plastic bag I've already thrown away.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
^ This has happened to me more than a few times lol. I thought it was just me :)

Currently I'm building a proper motorbike showroom, Not like that one from the 60026 Town square, I'm talking 10+ motorbikes and everything else that would go along with them, Just waiting for my latest order to arrive so I can make some signage and figure out just how many bikes I can fit while making it look somewhat believable.

I don't throw the bags away until I'm done for that very reason. Normally first check for me if I cant find a piece.

*Ok, so its not really gravity defying but I knew if I posted this picture it would likely end up being upside down!

Yeah...I don't even bother keeping boxes, with the exception of the cusoo/ideas type ones.

  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
@Legoboy‌ Uh-oh, do I need to ask for a change go rooms? :-P
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
@Shib - don't worry, you're not alone. I don't keep the boxes either. And last week I threw out all my CITY instruction books too. I'd kept them all nice but realised they were just taking up space.

It's one of those odd things in the Lego collecting world. I don't begrudge anyone who feels the need to keep boxes, but I buy to build, if I build a set and it doesn't look a good display piece I break it down into my parts supplies. I know I'm never going to sell that on as a set so keeping a box is just wasted space for me.

Not so. You keep more today than you did 3 years ago. ;o) I was horrified when you announced the Death Star box was destined for recycling bin - I think it got saved.

This thread is beginning to make me feel very uncomfortable. ;o)
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
I used to save the boxes for everything, but they took up so much room that I went through them and threw out everything except Ideas, Modulars and a few for sets I may dissamble someday and not use for parts. I have more of a problem with instructions now, even for sets I've never built and never will build. A big box of instructions is HEAVY.

I just moved houses and it's bad enough all the lego I had to move but when I packed up a box of boxes I felt that went to far...
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
I'd been keeping them but when it came to moving back from France with a strict weight limit they had to go. I'd kept them until the end though, goodness knows what our recycling guys thought :)
  • DrmnezDrmnez Member Posts: 855
I use to never keep boxes or manuals. Now I keep all manuals and very very few boxes. I am thinking about putting the boxes in the recycling bin though

With instructions its different, seems a shame throwing them away, if you ebay the lot or take them to a charity shop, will make someone's kid with loose bricks happy.
  • dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
Man, if anyone is getting ready to throw away the instructions for the Winter Village toy shop, I wish they'd let me know. I accidentally threw mine out. I know that you can find the instruction in a .pdf online, but I'd rather have the actual booklet.

With the Christmas sets finished, I can work on completing the Ghostbusters set. Problem is all the pieces are mixed in with this pile. Good times!!
