^^I reckon there's a private competition between him and @vitreolum‌ as to who can produce the most entries. They're the two highest-volume contributors to that competition so far. ;-)

Haha, anyone care to keep the bets? :))

Funny thing is I wasn't sure I was going to participate until I realized it was a brickset contest. I'll only add one more entry (unless a) some crazy idea that HAS to be made hits me or b) I actually manage to make a proper neo-classic spaceship that's not a stupid bird).

I have just about finished the second floor on my Fire brigade when I realised I had pieces missing. I know that can't be as all the Lego was placed in a sealed container and I have no little kids.

So I realised I must have done part of the second floor wrong...so now I have to undo it and rebuild it again to do it right this time. I will admit being tired is not a good time to build a Lego set.

I'm finally building the Dol Guldur sets I bought a while ago. I've already built 79014 and one 79011, but still have another four 79011s I got for the extra orcs. Unfortunately you can't just keep adding more to the main build, as per the Helm's Deep + Uruk Hai Army combo, so I will now have to think of some alternative expansion or just use the bricks for something else.

On the other hand, I've recently built a round fort out of four 79012 Mirkwood Elf Armies and now wish I had a couple more of them to make it bigger - this seems to be the most expandable Middle Earth set so far. My plan is to eventually integrate it with a couple of 79004 Barrel Escapes somehow.

@Adzbadboy‌ - Absolutely. I am organising some of the rock pieces for it right now actually, and the baseplates are laid out.

@CapnRex101‌, will you be relaunching your blog so we can follow your progress or will you be keeping things under your cowl this time?
  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 Administrator Posts: 2,364
^ Under the cowl mostly, more time for building that way.

haven't quite started yet but my next project is slated to be Cloudjumper from "How to Train Your Dragon" still trying to decide between display only (wings fixed in position) or semi-play where wings can be moved about.

I'm building the cavegod custom AT-AT ... 6000 odd pieces.
Done the head so far and now working on one side of the body. Took a while to get all the parts and cost me over a grand but it's awesome.

I've just finished #21108, my son has just finished #70816, and my daughter just finished #41038. A real LEGO weekend!

I just finished my first none-Lego modular building. Since my talent is to follow direction, I bought the plans for "The Speak-easy" from Brick City Depot. Very nice building with a nifty interior to include a craps table, piano, safe with money, small distillery and a roulette wheel. The old car out front is part of the plans. Next up is the Hardware store (also by Brick City) with a nice pick-up truck.

Having my first big on going project as a 1 by 1 meter spaceship. Building big has a few new challanges. Hope to finish around easter next year.

Hey all, I'm currently part sourcing the #10177 dreamliner and #10187 for my dad, but for the beetle, my dad wants it in white with red seats, just like his first car (which was a beetle), already have the licence plates. It is a very time consuming project, but I hope it will be worth it in the end!

It WILL be worth it, especially if your building it for an appreciative father! Is it a surprise?

Just finished Ecto-1, one of three sets I got at the weekend for my birthday. I love it to bits, what a great set, detail level is amazing, great mini figures and seeing as Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are among my most favourite films ever, I am chuffed to bits with this set, still think the £45 price tag is a little steep though.

@ecmo47 Actually he will be doing the building :( I'm gathering all the parts, so it's not a surprise, but he does like it!

Prepping yet another Aliens MOC. Thought about mocing something else but that Aliens movie has so many great scenes that are just crying out for building.

Since LEGO is unlikely to make any more LOTR sets after the fall wave for Hobbit: The Bloating of the Story(Part 3) - Gandalf felt a need to expand his interests.

I have completed my Bricklinked Green Grocer. Actual price $470...then add postage + $180. The reason postage was so high was because I was limited to a budget so could only spend a certain amount each time, making for more sellers :( but it's finished and I love it.
Sorry it's sideways, I have no idea why it's like that.

Just finished the Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout (79110) tonight. A fun build, and very educational for making MOC mountains. Unfortunately, the tunnel passage in the Silver Mine Shootout won't allow the Constitution to pass through; I was hoping to make a train tunnel for my son so he could play with it. But fortunately he is overjoyed by it having a slide and exploding walls, so its all good.

I just finished Brick City's "Hardware Store". Like the "Speakeasy" it was very nice build with a great interior. They have error-free instructions (PDF, not a wacky LDD file) and a thorough parts list. I think that I will change the tools on the sign to LBG so they will show up better. Miss Holly was supervising layout ideas tonight!

How do Legos react with water? I was thinking of making a MOC Infinity Fountain with real water, with a sort of River Country theme to it.
  • vitreolumvitreolum Member Posts: 1,406

How do Legos react with water?

They become cleaner. :)) The only parts you should not use with water is those with stickers on them, otherwise no problem.

Woke up at 1:30 so decided to finish this little project. I recently came across a very good deal on a used Pet Shop so decided to build it mirror image to go with the one I currently had. I am also testing out curb and street ideas. I am thinking of taking the flimsy base plate off all my modulars and replacing it with 8x16 bricks (8 per modular!)to give me some curb height.
