^ Love that Model Team truck with helicopter. One of my favorite sets that I had as a kid. When I got it out and put it back together the 2x16 helicopter blade plates were significantly curved from it having been assembled and sitting on a shelf for probably 10 years in my room as a kid.

Just received the last BL order in the mail today to complete my BSB! Can't wait to finish this up and align with my other ships.

I have the police station and the Exxon station. Do you notice them getting brittle, or could it just be mine are too sun-damaged?
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,268
    ^ I haven't built them up yet, so I can't say.

It's a given in my home - Lego NEVER stays more that a short period in direct sunlight. 2 major Lego rooms have minimal direct sunlight entering - one is curtains mostly closed; the other has minimal windowing. In my lounge, sets are not typically left out for long.

Just finished my latest summer MOC which will be on display at Yorbrix in July

Similarish in concept to a published build my 11yo daughter made earlier this year (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/383245 ); however very impressive.

I designed this baggage car for the Emerald Night train. It's built on the 24 stud base instead of the 28 stud base of the passenger cars. Though it would add a little variety to the train. I'll post some pictures when I actually get it built.

Just finished building #70816, and what a fantastic bit of kit it is!

Working on the ground floor interior of my Bricklink Cafe Corner project. an empty green floor leaves a lot to be desired when compared against the newer Mods. Hopefully will have pics in a week or two once all the parts arrive and I get the ones I inevitably forgot or miscounted.

Indeed it is. I was a little worried I'd be bored by it. But it's one of those builds that stays interesting with each new bag. And I'll just say that it's a good value even at retail. There are so many interesting parts if you are a space fan. My only gripe is that the windshield was scuffed up on mine. I wish they would have bagged it separately. It's not terrible but it's noticeable enough I may contact Lego about it.

  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ do contact them. The more people that do the more likely they are to fix some of their packaging issues. I emailed them over the weekend because the face of the IR receiver in the 4x4 crawler which comes in its own little plastic bag was all scratched up most likely due to the PF functions all being loose in the box with the other bags of parts and they bang against each other in the 2x too big box that most technic stuff comes in.

I also mentioned my distaste for them not cardboard backing instructions of all sets like $50 and above since they always seem to come out mangled.

I'd love to see that. My Bricklinked CC is almost done as well, but I haven't thought about the interior yet.

I just sent in a request for a replacement. I had no problems with them sending me a replacement windshield for my UCS IS. But yeah, I was having such a good time building that it was bit of a downer seeing the scratched windshield. I wish they would have used a bigger box because it's pretty full. And the windshield is crammed in with all of the other pieces with no protection.

Just finished up 76021-1 . It was a fun build. Some neat tricks to make the ship work. Loads of stickers, which I am not a big fan of, but the end result is great.

    ^ Love it.

Unfortunately, I didn't order enough of a few pieces, so I'm waiting on parts at the moment. I've gotten the majority of the main building done, but the roof has yet to be built (pending parts). I should have it all finished by the end of the week. Very enjoyable build, wonderfully created.

Something micro for the NCS comp. Some more ships for my Micro battle fleets for Yorbrix and more Ents for the assault on isangard for Knightcon.

Well, I didn't think it turned out as well as the first one.... :o)
  • klatu003klatu003 Member Posts: 729
@samiam391 The parts are impressive all spread out. I kept mine in tubs in layers to facilitate building on a small surface. The roof connections get a little tricky. Sorry you are short pieces, delaying your build. Let me know if my list needs update.

Another Neo classic space MOC, albeit this time not for the contest.

    ^ Something big?

I'm in the design process of my Neo-Classic Space MOC contest entry. It's at 430+ parts; need to cut it down.

^Nice model. But why does it appear that there's a lot of non-Lego parts on it? Or are my eyes deceiving me?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I don't think much of it at all is LEGO.

Yes , your eyes do not deceive you at all . This is not Lego. I wanted to not mention that right up so this could be looked at un biased even if just for a while . It's about 900 pieces ,non of which are big moulds except the life boat and helicopter.

I was very happy with the details and the end results . Thought I should share . I hope this is strictly not "what you are building (with Lego only )"thread and I apologise in advance just in case.

Lego does not fulfill my military vessel appetite so I do tend to wander now and then . :)

I know what you mean @Vortex. During my hibernation phase between my lego eras, I was attracted by MB's offerings of military cruisers and jets. Something completely missing from Lego's lineup or scope.

The heli was obviously not official, but assumed it was chosen simply because it fit the scale you were going for. It was actually the mast that caught my eye. Then the little radar dishes confirmed it. And then the lack of 'Lego' imprint on the surface platforms sealed it. All that aside, I still think this is a good representation of the real model. Perhaps next up could be a Zumwalt class with accompanying laser/rail gun?

Just built this tonight. I liked the way it looks with the offset doors and windows. The only problem is that the doors do not open and the reddish-brown hinges were very hard to find!
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
Designed this based on the experience of building the above car. It's on a 28 stud long base vice the 24 long.
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
Not the greatest picture but long, skinny trains are hard to shoot! I dont like that the windows are 1 plate too high on my car so I redesigned it as shown above.

Picked up Technic 9397 Logging Truck few months ago. Sitting there looking at it. Just wasn't impressed. A truck like that should have Duelies for the rear two axles. Also didn't like that only the forward axle had a "pumpkin"(differential). So have taking on the task of adding duelies, and a second pumpkin. I have also widened the stakes on the rear to align with the expansion of the rear axles with duelies. There is also work to add fenders over the rear tires. They need protection from the logs/branches that will be over them... I have also re-done the rear bumper. Didn't like the front of the truck either, too much gray, so have switching out all the gray pieces for black ones, to leave only the front bumper and actual grille gray. It will also be getting a rear license plate as well. Last, I added a light bar to the cross bar that goes over the top of the battery box.

@samiam391 Cool. I think the substitution for the rare arches is a success. Good job.

I just finished a #10178 that I resurrected from a pile of Craigslist sets. Not Lego's best rendition of the mighty AT-AT but boy was it fun to watch it stomp across the floor, swinging it's head left and right. Very impressed with the mechanical aspect of the model. Here's some pictures of it next to my #4478 edition so you can see the differences.

I have just completed the Bike and Cafe shop, which is sitting next to my Parisian Restaurant. I am now building the Fire Brigade, then comes the Haunted House. I am putting them side by side, it looks great to see them together.

Finally finished my revised Café Corner. Finished out the bottom floor and changed the awnings to Chima yellow and the red roof to dark brown. Apologies for the terrible lighting in the first photo but I was in a hurry.
  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
@ecmo47 #10178 has always been my favorite AT-AT. The walking and head swinging is flawless.

^OMG You already have set the bar high with two entries; I cannot imagine the third one being any different.
