Feeling a little bored (and run down with a cold) today, so just spent time building the Legend Beasts. I also built set #70132 Scorm's Scorpion Stinger and took pictures of the build and minifigs. If anyone's interested, the photos can be found in my Flickr photostream - an interesting build actually, but a little underwhelming for £35...

It includes some pics of the Scorm minifig for those who do that 'collecting one of each tribe' with Chima figs ;-)

@carlq - I did not realize that there were two videos. You are correct - that version by Judy Garland is classic. I love it. The song I was referring to was in the first video - something like "Driving Home for Christmas." Oh, I do love Judy Garland.

@Canuck26 - I'm sorry, I didn't realise there was another video, either! If the one you refer to is "Driving Home for Chirstmas", that was recorded first by Chris Rea (I also have a version by Michael Ball).

Glad to hear you're a fan of Judy - she had one of the richest and most emotive voices I've ever heard. I'm looking forward to sitting down this Christmas to watch both "Meet Me in St Louis" AND "The Wizard of Oz", since my Christmas Radio Times tells me they're both on this year! :-)

People still read the Radio Times? ;)

Feeling nostalgic today, built the sets from my childhood.

^ Nice! I have 2 of those sets, thinking of going through my parts to see how complete they are. I'm sure some of those blue supports of mine are broken.

Completely obsessed with Space Lego again right now!

Just finished building the Galactic Titan #70709 and Crater Creeper #70706 . The Galactic Titan is really a fantastic set, it looks great, ploughs with its tracks nicely across the pillows and cushioning of the couch, and I believe has lots of potential for MOCing too. The chassis of the planetary defender, is perfect for building an other body configuration on to with ample room for lots of minifigs.
Currently I am building the Hive Crawler set #70708 .
I got sidetracked with the contents of bag one though, after I finished building Billy Starbeam's speeder, I thought: 'this is really a cool nice looking little vehicle, but what can I do to customize and change it'. I don't care for the split function, so instead of moving on with the contents of the rest (the bulk) of the set, I have been just toying around with the bricks from bag one for now, and the left over bricks from the the two previously build sets, changing numerous little details, gradually rebuilding the speeder to my own liking.
  • FrictionPinFrictionPin Member Posts: 144
^^I had a few broken pieces in there as well. Mainly the ladders and the trans 1x1 round plates and bricks. They seem to have gotten brittle and cracked or chipped on the bottom sides so they won't say connected. Considering my parents had them stored in the rafters above the garage for 20 years I'm surprised more pieces weren't affected this way.

Fresh from finishing my 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive (above), I've today kind-of finished a 0-6-0 Pannier Tank engine, which I've built to be able to take Power Functions (oh yes!).

There's no pics yet, as I need yet another few BL orders to get bricks in the correct colours (it's currently a bit of a hotch-potch of colours). I'm torn, however, between doing the top half in dark red or black (as shown in the two photos below). What do people think?

    image
    image

I might end up just getting enough bricks to do one of each...

Since I missed out on the original holiday train. I just did a quick conversion of the lone ranger train using some olive green leaves.

Early today I built a house, garage and dog house for my daughters my little ponies. Using all pink and purple colors, looked pretty neat.

I also just built the City Fuel Truck 60016, but the box was a two pieces short of completion, needless to say I"m missing a wheel and side mirror.
  • Canuck26Canuck26 Member Posts: 55
@paperballpark - Dark red is one of my favorite colors that LEGO uses. It would look great used in this engine. Not only is it realistic, it's also very classy.

    ^^^My eyes!
I don't understand all of the recent sacrilegious talk that has risen in this forum. It has me a little concerned. Possibly confusion in the understanding of what the "brick" in "Brickset" means.

Anyway. Recently built the Galaxy Squad Bug Obliterator. Fantastic set, and I'd recommend it to any one who can get it for a little bit on sale.

Just finished building the final crane part to MK II. I had to rebuild a bunch of it as one gear piece on page 61 from the first book had fallen out :(

I am glad I finished this set before opening another. This thing is a beast, 5 functions controlled by one motor, I feel like a kid playing with it. Haven't figured out how to get the side supports to lower properly, but I'll get there.....eventually.

^ I think I will take it apart and see what else I can build tomorrow, hopefully a plane!

Did it take anyone else half an hour just to apply the stickers too? :-P

Just finished Palace Cinema, completed Pet Shop yesterday and Grand Emporium the day before. What a great Christmas, and I still managed to help with the washing up and visit family! The children have just finished their selection of Friends and City sets. Not long before I'll be back to the reality of work, but I'll enjoy it while I can!

That's funny, I just finished the Grand Emporium last night and I plan on building the other three soon too. I have enough sets stockpiled, I've decided it's time to open up a lot of stuff.

Today I received #75040, so I built that. Oh, and I built an improved version of Boga to go with it, because the General Grievous chase scene isn't complete without her is it? (the eyes are custom decals btw)

Check out some more shots of Boga (plus a few movie stills of the chase I did using the MOC Boga and #75040.) in my Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theoneveyronian/sets/72157639013708353/

Building another #4206 I just picked up at Wm on clearance. They had about 15 still. Can never have too many vehicles in your city sets :)

The new monkey Creator set really is cute! Also building the Parisian Restaurant picked up at the LEGO store this morning; it looks fantastic so far! Hubby just finished the Imperial Hotel. Still have Robbie House in the box.

Cuckoo clock set from Lego Movie is also lovely. A great holiday time for building those sets sitting in boxes on the floor…some for a year. Palace Cinema is also in the line.

Finally putting the plans together for my Lego city. Roughed this out tonight in Excel to get an idea of how much room I have and potentially how it could be arranged. Now, all I need is enough spare time to build extra tables to hold it.

Just finished building #70805 ...I pulled out #4432 to see if #70805 is really worth $10 more?....I actually think it is. But I still think #7599 might still be the best of the garbage trucks.
  • Penkid11Penkid11 Member Posts: 788
    Just finished #70802 and #70804.

The former is an excellent futuristic looking vehicle and has some nice play features.
The latter is absolutely adorable in truck mode. The "machine" is not unlike many action theme sets, and there for looks excellent as well. It's almost worth having two of #70804 just to display both models.

I also recently purchased #70803 and found it two be a very eye popping build. Unikitty is kawaii (cute in Japanese, because anime kitty), and as the cheapest way at the moment to get Wildstyle without the hood, it's more than worth the money. It has a very random color scheme but looks very nice when complete.

Will do! Bought two of them so I don't have to take apart the first one, which is just too darn cute!

With the atrocious winter weather in the US Northeast, it is great to be stocked up with new sets that are begging to be built! Many of us are hooked on Parisian Restaurant, which is a total joy to build! Finished the second floor last night. On to the top floor later today while hoping that our roof does not blow off. At least we did not get the massive snowstorm hitting New England.

And there are plenty of TLM figures that need to be customized once I finish PR. Love the new parts and mixing in old parts to slightly change figs. Stay warm folks!

I built my Christmas gift 10124 Wright flyer last week, it was huge... even bigger than the 10226 Sopwith. The model was a bit more fragile as well, but I love it. I'm currently building 7965 after finally giving up the throught on the ridiculously expensive 10179 :(.... Wanted to get the Orthanc tower next but boyfriend hates it so not sure what to do!

I have just finished the VW camper van. I really enjoyed building it. I struggled with the front roof part with the windows, it didn't want to sit right and kept falling apart. I manged to sort it out though. I think the wife enjoyed it more than me

Just finished #31004 Fierce Flyer while enjoying my morning coffee. At 166 pieces, it is a small, quick build- but magnificent when finished. Quite lovely to look at and oh so very posable.

Yup, Fierce Flyer is wonderful! Glad you like it, too. It looks great with the little eagle polybag next to up.

Bought and built 60042 High Speed Police Chase last night. I like the gold rims on the 2 dirt bikes and appreciate the lady robber. The cop favors my wife's late grandfather(He was an officer, too). Wonder if he's Polish?

Not building, but taking apart. Taking my Winter Village apart for another year.
