^^ It’s obviously an American all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant.
Featuring three different varieties of Mountain Dew, no doubt.

I've been working on a wide variety of models for my new project on Lego World Builder, Buildovian Treasure!

Feel free to check out my work and leave suggestions (which are very welcome)!

Below is a link to Buildovian Adventure, the first project. Buildovian Treasure is a sequel and I encourage those interested to look at Buildovian Adventure first to gain an understanding of the characters.

    Some of my MOCs include:

    • A fully detailed Germanic castle on a lake
    • dance hall with a mechanism allowing the couples to dance
    • a complete 1930's airport
    • saloon cars, roadsters, 1920's truck and other vintage vehicles
    • biplanes and monoplanes
    • 1930's salvage ship
    • complete shipwreck
    • Italian farm with fully detailed farmhouse and various old fashioned agricultural implements
    • motor yacht
    • flying boat
    • abandoned 'Pirates' style fort
    • jeep
    • reconnaissance aircraft

I added a few recolored trains to my roller coaster. The dark tan 1x1 curved tiles are pricey.

I really like the look of those roadster’s and planes! Not sure if you did the royal train but that was pretty nice as well.  Have you tried building any of them “in the brick” yet?

#75308 R2-D2 is finished! more or less ... HELP ... I can not get the center leg to deploy. Back near the beginning I found I was missing a part ... one of four the same of #6327559 ... I looked in my spare parts and had one that looked the same but in white and I used that instead and requested a yellow one from Lego.com. I really don't know if that is what made the difference to the deployment of the second leg. Anyone with any experience building this set ... please HELP!

@KungFuKenny Thanks for the feedback! Glad you like the roadster's and aircraft! Yes I did make the Royal Train, did you think someone else made it??

It is actually a much improved version of what was originally the 'Orient Express' I made on Lego Ideas years ago.

No I haven't built any of it with real bricks because that would be way too expensive, and my collection is currently packed away at the moment anyway.

Hi @GrannyLEGO Sorry to hear that. I ran into the same problem. I can't offer any specific quick fix unfortunately. I can't remember where exactly I messed up, but it originated in bag 2 or 3.
If your issue is due to a building error, it most likely originates also in the builds for bag 2 or 3 - there are numerous call outs in the instructions to make sure the parts are in exactly a specific position as well as turning the model on its axis repeatedly while building. Missing any one tiny part of those call outs could cause your problem.
In the end I removed the head, outer legs, and paneling in chunks (bags 4 - 13) without really having to take anything apart, and then went back step by step, removing parts piece by piece, until I discovered my error.
After that it worked just fine.
When you think you have fixed it, the leg should deploy by the end of bag 4 when lifting the body and tilting it back. And then you can continue reassembling the rest with a good feeling.

Good eye @560Heliport they are from a company called 21st century toys. They came in a box already put together and painted. My Grandfather was a gunner on an M4 during WW2. The Lego ones are from Brickmania.

    @gmonkey76 very nice models,
I find the history of WWII fascinating. My grandfather was in the pacific in WWII, I can remember going to the Naval Academy in Annapolis with him back in the late '70's for parades.
    Good memories!

@Brickchap I don't think they're in business anymore. I got my tanks around 2002 or 2003. They also made 1/18 scale aircraft and 1/6 figures.

I think the problem was their target market-segment collapsed, or they couldn't keep the quality up and still sell at the prices Walmart was squeezing them for.

Previously I posted a couple of my Lego World Builder projects. Despite months of work, a ton of effort and many different models with lots of detail and a good story for both, sadly neither have become very popular.

I have a new idea which is completely different to what I would normally do. Rather then once again waste a whole bunch of time and effort on a project only to find it barely gets a handful of likes and a couple of comments from the admins, I thought I would run it by you guys to see whether people like the idea.

Sorry if this is not 100% relevant, I don't have any facebook groups or personally know any fellow AFOLs to ask.

So, a possible new Lego theme: Deep Freeze '55 or Eis 3055, haven't got a title.

Basically its Ice Planet 2002 meets Mars Mission/Power Miners meets the Cold War in the 1950s.
There's two rival groups one would be sort of traditional Ice Planet colours and European/American sort of thing, while the other would be Soviet style with characters with Russian sounding names etc.

There would be a mix of classic space things, as well as 'spacified' Cold War stuff, like a MiG 15 fighter jet but with a red transparent cockpit for example and made for space, and a Starfighter for the other side (Starfighter is a 1950s USAF fighter jet, it would also have neon pieces and ice planet colours).
Then there would be things like 1950s drilling rigs but again spacified, robots with Soviet-esque helmets etc.

Some of the vehicles could use various 20th century vehicles as inspiration, like the Char B1 Bis tank for example. Or like an Sd Kfz 6/2 halftrack anti aircraft gun but as a laser gun.

That's what I've got so far. What do people think?

@Modeltrainman Well that's the thing see, I haven't made anything yet. It's all in my head at the moment and I'm conducting a feasibility study you could say. "Are other people actually interested in this?"

As I said in my above comment, I made these two great worlds (well one was a sequel to the other), spent months making MOCs, getting backgrounds for them, writing descriptions and even dialogue in some cases, yet after all that I only got 8 and 5 'likes' respectively. All the comments were from admins (who were very helpful and encouraging). If people are interested in my idea, then I will start making MOCs and I may post them here. But there's no point building stuff no one is interested in.

@KungFuKenny Thanks for the advice! Glad you liked them. I did enjoy making my Buildovian stuff since I love that era and the majority of the main 'good' characters are based upon my family and friends which was fun.

Normally I would agree with you but it is very disappointing working for months and no one is interested. My main concern you could say is how I made Lego Ideas projects years ago and got supporters in the hundreds, even some of my earliest MOCs got 100+ supporters. My LWB projects are much more sophisticated (my MOCs are a lot better), there's a story and characters (rather then just a car or modular building for example), and yet even my first ever Lego Ideas submission (a 1950's car) got more supporters than both of my LWB projects. I've tried promoting the LWB projects but only one person out of a whole bunch replied (Huw actually), and Brickset doesn't do LWB promotions yet.

The whole point of Lego World Builder is collaboration so other people that think your world is cool might either make a written suggestion, or better still add their own MOCs to your world. Eventually there is a chance Lego themselves may make your theme, which has happened to some others.

Now I won't continue this further, although I will explain that it does get disheartening when I make lots of MOCs that although I am happy with them, literally just stay on my computer (I use LDD, haven't got the parts for large MOCs). It's like a painting that no one wants to buy so it sits up in an attic covered by a sheet. Hope that's not coming across as 'poor me', just thought I had better explain myself.

@gratefulnat I will have to try that I think. My arthritis has decided to act up so it will be a day or two but I will try, in fact the missing part is said to be on its way so perhaps I will just wait for it to get here and hit two birds with one stone so to speak. I thought I was exceedingly careful to follow those building instructions that are so picky in the first few bags, maybe I missed something some where. Thanks for getting back to me.

Just finished making the Daily Bugle set. Boy is that thing a tall beast and with all the characters in action poses the set looks really dynamic. I just wish they had included larger pieces for the glass windows as putting all the little parts together was really tedious.

    🙀 🤩

What’s your guess on how many that will hold?!

I think my “dream home” Lego room/ basement will have a full door of display space for minifigs. Saw someone who had that type of display and it looked pretty nice. Yours will be even more space than I had been dreaming about.
