Unlike others here, I don't watch a movie while I build; however for this one I put on a playlist of James Bond theme songs:



Had a lot of fun building it, and showing off the play functions afterwards.
Used the template of #5005747 Black Card Display Stand to make a similar display for the Licence To Build Card.

Now moved to the cinema room, which my wife has agreed can be filled with movie-related Lego.

I wonder if she knows just how many movie related themes Lego has pursued in the last decade... Sounds to me like she may also have inadvertently given you a “license to buy” card also! 😀

@KungFuKenny When you have a whole room full of Lego, it's hard to hide how much Lego you have... She might not know the exact number of sets, but is well aware it's "stupid much" territory, including 100's of movie-related ones.

Was fun seeing all the bright colours on the inside, and then seeing them completely covered by black and white (and some grey) pieces:

Slow building weekend, but it was really nice to actually build anything at all after not having touched a set for a couple weeks.

Two sets that I picked up on super clearance which I really just grabbed for parts - #60176 and #41453.

Building #6085 with my son. Already unearthed all the bricks from my huge old stash during the weekend, now i gave him the bricks and he builds. Goes pretty well! A lot harder than more modern sets though, no bricklist per step, nor highlighted added bricks. Might be an idea to return to this format for creator expert, makes for some more challenging building!

Looks great!  I  bought the plans for this one when BBB had that sale a few weeks ago... I’m about 50% there on the parts.

Shame they don't share the parts lists. I always prefer seeing if I can scoop up the parts before buying instructions... Just in case the parts become tricky.

I posted over on the brag thread about my mega bargain free #8070 Technic supercar. The chassis was almost fully built up and parcel taped in the box with all the odd pieces.

The stickers are unused and a bag of black connectors was still sealed, several bags were still partially filled too. The previous owner said they had tried to build it but there was a piece missing and they gave up. Initially I thought the chassis was fine and I'd Just keep building from where ever they'd got to. But on closer inspection the suspension was binding as though it was built incorrectly and two of the shafts running front to rear didn't connect as they were too short! So I stuck a film on the TV, poured a beer and spent two hours pulling it apart and rough sorting the parts into last year's advent calendar tray.

Operation rebuild will start over the weekend.

@TheFew is that davdup's moc from rebrickable? I'm so on the fence about doing this as looks amazing but obtaining the stickers in good quality concerns me as not sure how good it will look without them. Look forward to seeing your progress...

According to rebrickable I have 96.7% of the parts - one day I really need to add sets on permanent display to the assembled list so it excludes them! Glad your going to add more snaps, very interested in how good it looks at the end.

The canopy is one of the trickier parts to find.

I just went for part 551ps1 from sets #7264 & #7166 with the intention of removing the print as they're quite cheap and readily available. (Also got more than one just in case it doesn't to according to plan on the first go).

If it is the same as minifigure wiping.. Brasso and a microfibre cloth.

Its a 2011 Technic set, of course it's paired with a 2017 Merlot! If it were a current Star Wars set it would be a bottle of Malbec. I tend to drink a  Shiraz with City sets, a local ale with Trains and a bottle of Blue Nun with Fabuland!

Last book to go now. As its before 5pm on a week day it's full fat Coke.

Picked up a brand new sealed #10211 Grand Emporium for a decent price on eBay, couldn't resist putting it together, so whilst the kids were at school I had a little building session...



I enjoyed the build, some creative ideas in this build. Interior is a bit basic, tables don't really do much for it imho but I did like this way they designed the changing rooms and escalators.

My 3rd modular build completed and now on the shelf with #10232 Palace Cinema and #10218 Pet Shop. Time to do some more BnP orders so I can get on with moc'ing some more buildings...

@COLT731 "The things that saved Lego from backruptcy back in 2000-2001" (picture of Bionicle models). I thought Harry Potter and Star Wars saved TLG's ass. Bionicle wouldn't have hurt, thought, and all of those show the market for toys that are part of a larger entertainment franchise, whether in-house or licensed.

I have the most space to build in the TV room so if I'm doing anything else while building it's generally watching something in there. Just realized it would be good for the breaks between plays in American football

@SeanTheCollector I love me some oldschool Castle but hadn't thought of DUPLO. Looks almost as nice as a small LEGO set.

@stlux I kept the Beatles figs from #21306 but listed the rest of it on BL, love the music but never watched their movies, figured they're cheesy, so I wasn't attached to the sub
