^ what did you think of building it?  I’ve been tempted to add this one to my city since it’s a nice looking house with a strong vintage town vibe.  It’s also a complete 4 sided building!
ZOMG! You need to get this one already! You know you want it. :D

Inspired by the recent lighting review by @Mr_Cross I've decided to pop the seals on another of my recent birthday presents. #10269 is a lovely build incorporating some interesting build techniques. Very pleased I took some advise and built this.

Another great display piece for the collection, just need to find somewhere to display it now!

Also, did you do anything to preserve it opening in half?  Or did you just stick it on the baseplate & call it good?  Curious as I look to add these to my city with modulars, because the floors don’t come apart with half opening buildings so you have to either mod them more extensively, or I’m thinking if I pin them down on tiles, the buildings could still then open up in half.  Of course you’d have to leave enough space to do it in the overall city.
I'd say go ahead and get it.  Its a pretty nice little build and a good scale for the city.

I haven't yet actually attached it to the baseplate, just set it there to see how it fit.  my plan right now is to build up a plate underneath the house so I can use tiles under the front half and allow it to swing open.  As it sits right now, the house swings open and sits flush with the right side of the baseplate when its open (The assembly right of the house will need to be relocated)

I do!  I think this is the 2nd time I’ve asked about it.  I keep waiting to find it on sale though, thinking I should be able to get 20% off.  Then I find it on walmart, & now they took the sale off before I ordered.  Oops.  They say it’s on sale at our local walmart, but isn’t.

Thanks Boardshorts too for your take on it & sharing plans of how to make it swing open.  Kinda what I was thinking.  As I need to do the same to #76108 & #76038 in my city to have some smaller than modular size buildings.

    ^ haha @KungFuKenny

Its just a matter of finding a blank wall to put up a shelf or making space on an existing shelf! Think my wife has given up on me when she comes home to find yet another IKEA Lack shelf purchased for the purpose of displaying Lego!

^that coast guard base is perfect to anchor a beach/coastal area.  & I admit I want the city garage for my own city, as it’s just right for a parking garage in a downtown/modular area.  Maybe one month I won’t be quite so cheap with my BrickLink budget :D.

@M1J0E- I decided earlier this year to upgrade to the dark bley plates since most of my City vehicles are now 6-studs wide & said plates have slightly wider lanes to accommodate them. I had as many "classic" light grey plates to work with prior to my decision, & pretty much traded plate-for-plate. Was kinds lucky in that regard, that they came along when they did

^ awesome find then!  I might well need to pick up some more as that was my old city, & well I do need a few more to put together what I’m thinking of next.
  • M1J0EM1J0E Member Posts: 644
I kinda had the debate on car size with putting together a city using the modulars as a street, since 4-wide vehicles are a smaller scale so won’t overshadow the buildings as much, but really in the end, it seems 6-wide is the way to go.  There’s just so much more variety available with 6-wide from a greater number of themes.

I think if I do what you did with using the modern dark bley plates, it’ll space vehicles enough out from the buildings to set them off on their own, and make a more interesting city.  Thanks for the ideas on how to lay out something interesting!

Had sone fun with #60224, then it was off to PaB counting. (595 1x2 tiles DBG are a PITA to count unless you bag off each pack of 100 as a checkpoint). Built Apollo 11 inbetween. (those DBG plates are probably goin to be used somewhere in relation to that...)

My boy asked me to make the B/W car from #79874 Chevy Camaro Drag Race, & I thought I may as well go the "extra mile" 😂 & do the starting line too, added some mods. Car has custom striping that turned out pretty good IMO. Had to steal from a few sets though, stealing the deep fenders from the S.C. Bugatti

I've been slow to build my Brickheadz collection (though I'm not entirely sure why). Last night I put together #41615 Harry and Hedwig and #41616 Hermione.

They certainly weren't the most complex of BH builds, but still enjoyable. I quite like how Hedwig looks.

I think tonight I'll had Ron and Dumbledore to the display.

A Lego doormat would just be a bunch of baseplates?

Maybe a baseplate covered in these?

Or maybe not, their height is too big...

For the €700 UCS ISD, would a household appliance freebie be a worthy freebie of such a large spend?

Maybe a Henry Hoover, but the main unit is an oversize minifig head instead of Henry's face?

Just build my second copy of #60150, took it apart at the will of my 4y-o. He rebuilt it all by himself. Proud dad.

After being sat in the loft for nearly 2 years, I finally cracked open the big Disney Castle set. Completed up to bag 9 - that's enough for the weekend. Bag 3 had a missing piece though - a white pointy 2x1 brick (2 of them side by side make a pyramid). Definitely not anywhere, and the bag had a tiny split in it because a piece only from bag 3 Dell out of it before it was opened. Looked in bags and the internals of the box for it.

Up to bag 10 of the Disney castle and more issues.

I'm missing a 1x2 white block and 2 light tan 1x3 blocks. In their place I have 2 1x4 light tan blocks. None of those pieces are unique in bag 10, and what I've got will weigh about the same as what I should have. I've checked my work and everything was built right, nothing substituted.

The 3x1 light tan/brick yellowblocks are common as muck, as is the 2x1 white block. Already found one of everything missing in the communal brick stash at home.
