Glad you like the display, the IKEA Barkhyttan Display Box was just the right size for #75533 Boba Fett. Would love to find a bigger box to do a similar display for #75534 Darth Vader!

Just built the excellent Burrows alternative build for the Whomping Willow set #75953. With a few adjustments to the garden and interior, adding a fireplace, it's so much better than the original. Better than Lego's own Burrows set I think. Doesn't use any parts from the Ford Anglia so you can still build that. Used a few spare microfigures for the gnomes :)

#40358 while watching TV Sunday night

I was attracted to it for all the food pieces. The donut and quarter pie are new/rare, though the cookies are relatively common.

Like many LEGO sets it suffers from having a lot of small models, particularly the table, though the sales stand (especially the rotating display case) is fine.

The piececount is low for a $20 MSRP set but that's hard to judge given the special parts, high proportion of minifigures, bicycle and dog. While a Target exclusive, various promotions of theirs plus redcard make the price alright.

After today’s festivities died down I got out #40305 Brand Store to build while everyone napped or played video games. Spent too much time preparing my construction refreshments because I had only gotten done with the first floor when the toddler woke up. Hoping he falls asleep quickly tonight because I’ve got #70920 Egghead Mech waiting too!

Just built Las Vegas! Well #21047 anyway, an Xmas gift from the wife with special significance as its where we tied the knot (I bought her #853340 as a joke, little realising a few years later I'd start collecting as an AFOL!)

My sole contribution to our wedding decorations was #40165 as an AFOL.  My wife loved it, & is now a collector of Friends and AFOL herself.

A bit into book 2/2, #10196 Grand Carousel which I picked up in late October for a song. Not as intricate a build as I originally suspected, but complex enough nonetheless.

Between this & my previous build (Silver Champion) I can't help but marvel at the planning & overall thought processes designers must go through to develop these sets. Simply amazing!

Seeing how much of #60110 Fire Station (2016) I have, for S&Gs. Got this basically free in my latest haul. Just have the other side garage to do but missing nearly 100 pcs so far.


We have the 2011 Fire Station but I'm pretty sure my kids won't want to upgrade; this one kinda smacks of Juniors.

i just finished the #42077 which i got for xmas. loved this build. it freaked my wife out when she saw how big it was. she didn't think it would be as big as it was.

Just built 42057  didn't apply stickers ,nice build and cheapest way to get a 40 anniversary brick(given as a present - probably wouldn't have got it myself)

I'm about 40% through mine - it is a beast. Bought everything to electrify mine and make it remote control. Will do that once I finished as the YouTube video guide I've seen for the mod is based on the finished model.

I finished my #42077 at midnight last night (while watching 3 GoT episodes) including electrification/remote control.

The YouTube instructions weren't quite the whole story, especially as the standard power functions battery box I used is bigger than the suggested G-Whizz battery box. The standard box just about fits in the bonnet (or hood as some people might know it) at an angle with the front grille assembly altered slightly. The switch is accessible through a gap at the bottom of the front grille, but ideally I'd like to get some longer beams to extend the front end by 1 peg hole to lie the battery pack down flat.

I've just started Ninjago City Docks #70657. Initially I decided to do just two bags a day, but as day two bags 3 and 4 basically consisted of just 300 odd trans light blue tiles I pushed on a bit and found myself at the end of bag 7 before dragging myself away. I'm enjoying it, but it doesn't have quite the same impact as doing Ninjago City that first time.

Certainly not as exciting as whay many of y’all have been building, but after an incredibly fun day of cauking my mothers tub while home from college for winter break, I felt I deserved a little something. It was even clearance too!




For such a small set I actually left this one remarkably surprised. The speeder-thing is remarkably bulky for being less than 100 pieces.

How many bags are in the set, and is it a bunch of bags at once like Creator Expert or one bag at a time like regular Ninjago? It's on its way for me, and as it'll be the biggest set I've ever built, I'll try to split it evenly over a few days. I have a habit of never taking a break when building...

My wife bought me #21047 as a surprise Christmas gift, knowing I like the Architecture series.  Given it was already on my want list, not a bad find by somebody who’s just becoming an AFOL herself & I didn’t think was yet touted into what I like/want.  Nice!!
I haven’t even a huge fan of the skylines (even though finding #21003, basically one part of a skyline, in a gift shop at the base of the Space Needle in 2009 is what brought me out of my dark ages).  But Las Vegas is just such a cool city, & probably the only one done in a skyline that I’ve actually been to and recognize all the landmarks, and have memories of most of them.  So this was a great find & actually a cool build!

Bags from 1-19 I think, though there are multiples of some of the numbers. Pretty sure there are 24 in total, but I'm not at home right now. One bag at a time like regular Ninjago.

It's a really nice set, but #70620 is better, in my opinion, as you would probably expect given the price and larger part count. Of course that might simply be because some of the techniques, like the water, were first encountered in the City set and aren't therefore quite as revolutionary second time around. If you are building the docks first you won't have had that previous experience so it should be great.

I'm actually using the Docks as a stalling tactic before I attempt my minifig scale version of #71043. I have most of the parts I need, but barely a clue about how I'm going to start it.........

Another quick build of a tiny set #75195 I got on discount, this time from my most reviled SW film. Though no complaints about this micro fighter set. The minifigs are quite nice, the builds were fun, and the set contains plenty of SNOT elements. At €13,99 it is not too bad of a set. Actually the designer did a great job.

Picked up all the available TLM2 sets that interest me, and had a building splurge yesterday. Really like the disco bus & Emmet's house - very fun builds!

Very excited for #70840 Apocalypseburg, I think it looks fantastic!

Earlier in the day I built this with the youngest:

The workshop is very simple, the car almost as simple, and the spaceship only slightly more complex than the car. But I love the set! And here's why:
1. All printed parts
2. Amazing playability for 2 small vehicles and essentially a back-drop
3. The space ship is totally TOTALLY classic space! From the colour scheme to the parts usage, from the logo to the play functions and the overall shape of it. It took me right RIGHT back to the eighties and building ships with my older brother (who got all the best spaceships).

And my youngest son has played with it non stop for 3 hours. Can't recommend it enough. Anyone who is put off by the 4+ 'easy build' marking please reconsider - the big spaceship chassis is still very cool!

I pulled out Benny's Spaceship! #70816 in anticipation of his new crew that should be arriving tomorrow. I'd forgotten just how large it actually is. I swear, it's twice as big as it was before it was packed away. :p
