yeah, I read lots of people were disappointing by the inside, but for a facade build I think the inside is pretty nice

Last night I finished the first stage of the Saturn V. I'm really enjoying the build as there are lots of great techniques, but the use of lots of glossy black parts really highlights how scratched they get in the box.

I finally managed to add Green Lantern to my recent DC Comics collection. Just built this:

I just don't see the need for that Batman in this set, though...

but... but... but, it's Batman! What more reason do you need?!

Tho my son watches the Lego Super Heroes films regularly and sinestro(?) does face off against Batman's Justice League on occasion...

    I put this together yesterday

#79003 was a used set picked up at Savers. Only bag#1 had been opened, and the extra bag#4 in the box made this from #75043.

Couldn’t sleep so I knocked out a chunk of Ninjago City. Still have to do the final section but I can say that the build has been great. I’ve really enjoyed it. This is the first large set I’ve done since the UCS Falcon and the experience has been night and day for me.  It looks great too. Will post pics when I’m done.

^ Yes, Ninjago City is a great build, full of lots of little details and fun techniques.

I'm currently on bag 7 of #21309 Saturn V and I am missing a 2x4 light grey slope and in its place is a 1x10 light grey plate, which shouldn't be in the set at all. I'm assuming that all of the bags are packed separately, so I should contact Lego for a replacement now rather than open all of the other bags to double check. Please could someone confirm if this is correct.

@kbw I loved Ninjago City too, it's soo much fun.

@Th1nDiesel I've had it happen that the missing part is in another bag, but if there's actually another in it's place I guess it can't harm.

I looked ahead in the instructions and the part is easily enough to replace once it's finished, so I've substituted for a different colour while I complete the build and if the missing doesn't turn up I'll contact CS.

So, I finished the Saturn V and a replacement part from Lego CS is on its way.
I really enjoyed the build and from a technical aspect it's probably the most interesting model I've built so far. The way the rocket comes together, with flimsy looking sections ending up making an incredibly solid final model, was fascinating. I have to say, it's the most punishing build I've experienced in terms of not paying full attention to the instructions; a couple of times I had to pull a few pieces out when some of the side panels didn't fit.

I showed it to my wife who declared it would "look good on the mantlepiece", so before she'd finished speaking, here it went:
One of my favourite builds, gotta find time to pop to IKEA for a LACK shelf so I can display it as no mantelpiece here!

@SirBrickalotOfLego The Saturn V is one of my favourites too, such clever techniques and it looks amazing. And it's a great eye-catcher. Even if you put it the other way round, like I've did. Was very lucky about the height of the shelf since it just fit!

i've just built the fish from on e of the 3in1 creator sets: Another build of the 31031 Rainbow forrest.

Gotta agree with all this Saturn V talk - absolutely phenomenal set both to build and display. I have it vertical like @snowhitie for space reasons, and it looks awesome.

Just built the Boba Fett Brickheadz. Hands down the best Brickheadz to date. Some great building techniques, not the standard build, and loads of pieces (so many more than a single Brickheadz and almost as many as some double packed Brickheadz). I highly recommend to everyone!

Review on Front page as well now.

I have to jump in on the Saturn V band wagon - it truly was one excellent build! Super interesting to build, and very rewarding at virtually every turn. And the finished product is a real beauty to behold!

But as for what I'm building right now - I'm getting the remaining few Lord of the Rings sets all built so I can take some pictures of the complete collection which I just completed.

Just started in on the rollercoaster and have the first half completed.

Doing overtime at work so it'll be a few days before I get to the second half...

Just finished #72004 Tech Wizard Showdown. I really don't care for the Nexo Knights theme that much, but robot mechs hit my soft spot. When I saw it on sale for 25% off, I figured that $30 for 506 pieces was a deal. Ordered from Walmart, so I also grabbed #30547 Dragon Hunter. Great little set with 63 pieces. Not only a solid build, but I grabbed it with a parts pack in mind - 3 sword blades with handle, a boomerang piece, 2 1x2 rounded plates, and 4 1x1x1 rounded plates with clip.

^That is a top notch poly! (and better than the larger set, in my opinion, though that mech has some cool parts)

@FowlerBricks indeed. I ordered 2, and may go back to,the website for a few more. Quite a value in that little pack.

Been busy of late and my spare time for building has suffered because of this.

So as tonight we had nothing planned, decided that I would grab something from the backlog.

First thing to hand was #75214 which was one of my more recent purchases but I thought what the hell, won't take to long, not many pieces and won't take up to much space.

I am enjoying it so far and had just got to the end of bag two when I realised this set was meant for a slightly younger audience.

Why's that? I hear no one ask.

Because being of an older generation, placing of the last sticker (a round, black rimmed Imperial insignia) onto the required black round tile, whilst having slightly dodgy eyesight that person's of my age are sometimes afflicted with was nigh on impossible to do and get straight without repeated swearing and repositioning of said sticker.

I'm not usually bothered that a set has stickers (I found lining them all up on #70612 quite therapeutic if I'm honest) but I will certainly not mind one bit if TLG never make another round sticker, ever.

Apart from that, cracking little set so far. Very sturdy and looks to be very swooshable (test flight will be held tomorrow morning while the boss is busy doing something else).

@mafon that is scary! Just in time for Halloween.
(@SumoLego you'll be glad to know) I'm enjoying building #75202. I like the colour scheme and the swivling canon is quite cool.

Said I didn't need any of this year's City Arctic sets......picked up my 4th one today while staying away for work. Fun little build on the Spider crane thingy

^ I said the same but somehow seem to have started to accumulate them. Now left with a bunch of city minifigures in arctic gear that don't fit in with either my city theme or my winter village!

Have to whip up some mid-sized Monster Fighter sets soon, we display them this time of year.

Also #7642 is slowly coming together, & progress on #7018 even slower.

I need 2 weeks off with no obligations.

I put together #21039 a couple nights ago, but I felt like something was missing, so I added a Jin Mao Tower. It’s too skinny, but at this scale I’m not sure I can do better. Not the most interesting building technique, seeing as it’s just stacked jumpers.
I also extended the two left legs of the Oriental Pearl tower by one tan 1x1 round plate each so they get closer to the lower “sphere”.

@bandit778 I can relate for sure! Round stickers can be a pain. That said, the worst for me are not those that go on round parts but those like the tail stickers on sets like #70816 and #60103 where it’s not just a matter of angling them right, but also matching the vertical and horizontal placement!

By comparison, I’ve found a really good technique for applying 2x2 round tile stickers, which is to just attach them to a square or rectangular plate before putting the sticker on. At that point it’s almost the same as lining up a sticker on a square or rectangular tile, since I can use the straight edges as guidelines. The only issue then is if it’s a pattern with a floral or otherwise organic pattern that has no straight lines or directional indicators to help with alignment, like in #10257. But of course, most of the time with stickers like those or some of the cushions in LEGO Friends/Elves it’s not a big deal anyhow and it’s just me being persnickety.

I spent most of yesterday doing the opposite of building. I dismantled all of my Lord of the Rings sets except the Tower of Orthanc for storage. Hopefully within the next year I'll have the proper shelving up in the "LEGO Room" to be able to have them all out and built permanently, but for now, space had to be made so I could go onto my next big build... VOLTRON!

Well done. Yes, it's broken. Gotta call maintenance.
@Switchfoot55 Hey, who said it was fresh? ;)

Anyhow, made lots of progress today. Normally I'd finish it in a day, but I'm spending time with a friend who's in town and am prioritizing that. It'll be complete tomorrow.
