And as a puzzle for the reader, you may tell me what my obvious, intentional mistake in this step was... :-)
What do you mean, "It wasn't intentional"?
Really wish I'd picked up more monster fighters at the time!
From Chrismal Gift Money and a Rebate I decided to build one more Lego Set, so I decided on the Lego Carousel. I've been reading comments online from people saying that the base of the carousel is flimsy, but so far I haven't found that to be the case. I have no problem picking it up and the carousel turns like expected. I do say it's pretty clever on how this goes together.
This is one of the first times that I have put stickers on pretty straight and I think I found the secret of doing so. From watching online videos and remember from the place I worked for helped me out. The place I worked for was an automotive paint manufacturer and I worked in the QC Lab. I used to watch the Union guys put labels on the 5 gallon pails and I used to put labels on the one gallon and one quart sample. One guy would peel off many labels and stick it to his work clothes. I never seen a person do such a fast and clean job of putting labels on something like that guy. Of course I don't have to worry about how fast I do it, so I don't have to do that. The secret I found out is to use a knife or the brick tool to align the sticker and once you have it aligned just push it down like your stamping on the part quickly.
Overall though, a really nice model and I can't wait to get the Quake Mech to go next to it (once the price has dropped a bit).
It's an awesome build. Imposing, bigger than anything I've built before, with some great techniques and fun details. The nanofigs are nice too.
And the only thing left now is to recycle the biggest pile of Lego bags I've ever accumulated!
Clearly you are spending too much time Scrooge McDuck-ing in your pile of freshly opened LEGO!
This is my WIP attempt at the new McLaren Senna. Waiting on parts to finish it.
All done, and it is amazing.
and here's a printing press:
Black isn't the easiest colour to photograph, but they've not come out too bad. You can see larger sizes on my Flickr account.
Can't wait for the total package.
Like some of the posters above I fancied some modular building. Haven't got the diner yet but Ninjago City should bridge the gap.
Groundwork done, looking forward to doing more over the weekend.
