Question about GameStop preorder
I'm curious if anyone could offer an opinion about this. I went a few days ago to pick up my Lego LOTR Nintendo DS game I preordered, paid, and then asked the employee for the minifig bonus that was supposed to come w/ it. He acted all confused like he didn't know anything about it, so i described it & he took a few minutes to randomly search around behind the counter for the bonus, almost as if he was stalling to see if i'd say 'oh, don't worry about it.' Since i didn't, obviously!, he then magically found ONE random pack just sitting there by the register and was like 'oh, this must be it!'
Now my question, is it at all possible that he didn't know about this bonus minifig?? I even asked him if i was the first person to ask about it (this was at least 3 days after release) while picking up a preorder and he said yes!
I had also ordered a wii version, so when i go back on the 13th i'm dying to see if he pulls that again.
Anyone else notice this? Thanks!

I just pre-ordered the LoTR for Xbox yesterday. He told me to get there early in case they run out. A bunch of BS as the offer is to receive the Lego minifig with pre-order -- not be told to be their early.
Want Elrond figure but don't want game. Ideas?
You should check this thread for some answers. The official reason is that Gamestop ran out of the minifigs. Although I got 3 and didn't preorder until the day before the release date. Maybe each store got X amount?
And thank you everyone!
So perhaps if there's another one close enough, it's worth checking multiple stores.
So moral is GameStop online not great but in store is better. (at least this time.)
How this occurs I do not know because when you pre-order you get the figure. So it would stand to reason that no matter how many people show up, or how late you show up, you should still have a figure waiting with your game IMO.
This does not happen and that is why Gamestop gets no more of my money.
Ironically, I pre-ordered online the last two times after hearing horror stories about receiving promo items in store, and yet in-store turned out to be the way to go. Go figure.
