Changing user names

I've noticed a few people changing their user names recently, and their activity record gets changed comlpetely to the new name. If they update their picture, then this gets noted in their activity. However, something significant like changing a name does not. Is it possible to have a note of who someone was on their profile after a name change?

    Also, is it possible to remove comments from others on my wall? These are usually made when they don't know how to use messages properly.
