^ I thought it was generally agreed that you shouldn't make counter offers in other people's Marketplace threads?

^ I still don't understand what is right here. We could all have one thread each offering the same thing, or keep the marketplace tidy and have all the same offers on one thread. The latter usually happens with trading for CMF.

For real? What I don't understand is how it's okay to jump in and undercut somebody within their own thread!? Seriously??

How much is your Grandmother? Presumably she's on offer?

^ OK, so let's turn the marketplace into ebay every time there is a Sun promo on. How many threads will there be for the same item, with no price in the title, so you need to check each one to get the best price.

Presumably if anyone adds anything to a trade thread for CMF saying they also have some available, then they will also get jumped on?

Seriously? CMF trades in one thread can help everyone get what they need and consolidate a ton of requests.

This is the equivalent of poaching @geddes offer, thus benefiting only you.

I thought it was pretty clear.

tbh I am surprised that the mods/admin even allow the original for sale ad to stand, its a clear case of profiteering

    I disagree. If I say I have X, Y and Z and want A, B and C, then why should someone else be allowed to say I also have X, Y and Z but only want A and B? Or A, B and D?

It would benefit anyone wanting to purchase the item too, since it is cheaper.

But I understand, every person gets to have a thread for each Sun poly.

^ With pleasure. Will be interesting to see what response the new thread gets having screwed up somebody else's!!

If I were to buy one of these (don't need one thankfully), I would have contacted the original poster anyway as I wouldn't want to deal with the type of person that would hijack someone else's offering. Some people seriously need to learn some community spirit.
How would you feel @CCC if someone just followed every market place offering you make by offering the same for 1p less??

The community spirit of charging 5x cost price, plus making money on the postage. Whatever happened to helping people out where they couldn't get an item, or where you got a good deal. I thought that was community spirit.

^ I can understand your rationale that a single thread that listed all items available is convenient, but it gets messy, particularly when pricing is involved.

So yes, we ask that anyone selling an item create their own thread as the resultant clutter is preferred over the friction and arguments that are bound to break out when sales are usurped by others from within one's own thread.

It's worth noting that you took the OP's price and shaved off 1p. That looks more like the practice we are trying to curb than it does a charitable act for the community.

So will that be the same for any trade thread too? So if someone if offering CMFs or any other minifigs for example, then no-one else is allowed to jump in and offer the same things on that thread.

I just sold my spare two for cost price. So can be closed.

If someone else wants to jump in and offer them for 99p plus postage then I'll be interested.

Ah sorry I got confused with the thread split, for some reason I thought it was the Uruk-Hai ballista...

I'm all good for Quinjets. Still looking for Uruk-hai swaps (as I'm away that weekend).

^^ I'll see if I can get any more and I'll let you know.

^ no problem. Although unless I can score more than 15, it'll be difficult parting with them. Especially as my local branch is limiting them to three per person.
