Buying from FAO Schwarz

I just got in an order from FAO Schwarz for 22 Grand Emporiums. Upon pulling them out of the LEGO boxes (2 per box), I feel like 15 of the 22 are not acceptable. They either have crushed corners, large creases in the box (random places), or even small incisions. Am I being too picky? What is your standard? Normally, the actual set box itself holds up quite well when shipped in LEGO boxes, but these didn't. I am on the phone with FAO now to get the damaged items exchanged, but what a hassle. How do you handle this personally?

Why did you buy from FAO Schwarz?

The price point was right. Is there something I should know about FAO?

They're owned by TRU now, right? That alone would make me nervous about their shipping.

Yes, they are owned by TRU. However, these were shipped in actual LEGO boxes (2 per box) and still 15 of 22 were slightly damaged or worse.

ETA: iccarus beat me to it

A lot can happen during shipment. I believe LEGO boxes are very tight (ie no room for airbags) so they do not provide that much cushions upon impacts

I would send them all back, and then buy them again when GE actually EOLs, preferably from Amazon which has an easy as can be, no hassle return process... ;)

How did you bypass the "2 items per customer"?

^ The limit is just a per order limit. You can make as many orders as you want.

Purchased these through FAOs eBay account.
