FOR TRADE: ELROND for LEX LUTHOR poly (UK)

edited October 2012 in Marketplace
Wanted: Elrond poly (comes with the LOTR LEGO game)
Trade for: Lex Luthor (came with BATMAN game) 30164 - brand new sealed.

Prefer UK trade. Obviously the game isn't out yet, so I doubt anyone has one. But if you want a Lex and are pre-ordering the game to get a spare for trade, then let me know.

I have pre-ordered 2 copies (1 X360 and 1 DSI) so i will have an extra figure to trade and I need Lex. If you dont find a UK trader and want to ship across the pond, let me know. I am new on Brickset but have great feedback on ebay.

    OK, thanks.

I haven't updated recently as the game isn't out in the UK yet.

Is anyone in UK likely to get a spare one and wants to trade for a Lex poly ?

    PM if you are.

Any interest from UK people, now the game is out?

Does anyone have a spare to trade?

I have a spare Lex Luthor poly, or a TC-14. Both are sealed.

Before anyone kills me for commenting on a marketplace thread this isn't meant to be anything other than an observation and a friendly remark!! I think you may find traders with spares in the UK quits scarce as (someone correct me if I'm wrong...) I believe the availability was a lot less than the Lex was with Batman 2. There was only one maybe two retailers that had them this time round.

I agree. Picked my Lexs for £6 each I think from Ebay a month or two after the event.

The Elronds, however are still quite high on Ebay with listings thinning out fast. I eventually picked up two two from a Canadian Bricklink store for £20 delivered. Arrived today. One happy Flumpy.

Maybe. Prices for both Elrond and Lex (and the TC-14) on bricklink and on ebay are similar, so I'd prefer to trade if possible.

Prices are, I was just trying to highlight to you there may be less availability in the UK as perhaps say the US? So a trade might be more fruitful with one of our fellow Bricksetters across the pond :o)

^ Exactly. I gave up trying to buy within the UK and so went to the US for help. £20 each in the UK versus £20 for a pair shipped from Canada. Go figure.

@CCC. A good tactic is to go to Game and buy the special edition, then immediately sell or trade in at a walk in CEX (that's computer exchange shop). My local two branches are a short walk apart. I would guess this could get you the figure for not much more than £10.

Even better tactic, just go into Game and ask if they'll give you an Elrond, never hurts to ask :-)

I tried that last week. They had no idea what I was talking about and even went so far as to tell me that LEGO hadn't released a figure this time round. The sales manager is a smarmy little git who has always got on my nerves. He thinks he knows everything about everything. He was telling me about LEGO this and LEGO that when really he knew f**k all. I took great pleasure in pulling up a load of info about it on my phone.

My wife had left the store by the time I'd spat him out.

^ after that, did you at least request to purchase the game and then demand the figure? That would have been my move :)

That's £10 of real money! I don't mind trading in a freebie but when real money is at stake, I'd rather put it towards other sets.

With the Council of Elrond coming, I'll probably just wait for him in that set anyway if no-one has one to trade... at least he'll be in the right era then too.

If any US bricksetters do have one ... I have the above polys (Lex, TC-14). I also have a spare Stig keychain if anyone is still after those.
