Wanted: LEGO City The Mine 4204

If anyone sees an extra one of these laying about at their local Wal-Mart at the $39.97 price and would be willing to pick it up for me at cost+shipping and any fees you may incur, I'd greatly appreciate that. I hit all three of the Wal-Marts near me today, and nothing. If not, no big deal. It's just a set I wouldn't mind owning at that price.

Thanks!

Hi Josh, If I can grab some, how many would you want?

I'm just looking for one. Thanks much for looking out for one.

And just to note: I'm not concerned about box condition, and actually wouldn't mind if the box were pre-discarded, especially if it would cut down at all on shipping.

I'd love one as well. No interest in the set myself, but at that price it'll make a great Christmas present for a friend's child.

    I'll look tomorrow too.

I tried, man. Went to WM and waited forever to be condescendingly told NO over and over: no we don't have any somewhere else, no there's none in the back, no you can't have a rain check, no you can't have a comparable item, no my handheld says we are not getting any in (!), no we didn't have any to start with because my computer shows we sold only one 4 weeks ago. Yes exactly all that just happened.

Was able to grab 3, so have one for you @josh and @amberyl. PM me with your shipping requests and details.

Hey, if you have an extra one, I'd love one for my son. Deboxed would be just fine as well, hopefully that saves on shipping.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Sorry Tex, the two went to the above members and the other was for my personal collection. I'm gonna stop by Target tomorrow and if I score, I got one with your name on it.

I would love one as well.....if anyone should happen to get one they'd be willing to part with. I just my nephew everything else from the Mining line and that'd be the topper on the cake! And after I just asked the toy manager on Friday if they planned on reducing the Mining set and Vampires Castle anyone since I saw someone else posted they found them for $60 at WM. I know they had 3 but now the WM website says 'out of stock'. Gonna hit a few tomorrow and cross my fingers at Target. If I get any extras I'll pass them along!

Ha, ha. Makes me feel a little prouder that I was able to score one and the master did not ; )

If anyone has a spare they picked up at that price I too would love one.even after shipping to the UK it should, work out cheaper. Also dont need the box. Now it's a bit of bother to ship to the UK but maybe a trade for upcoming sun polys at cost may work out? Can't promise 40 Urak hai or anything as I wont pick up more than a couple multiples until late in the day (I know - bloody morals) but I should be able to get a good few of each. At cost they work out at about either 0.6$ or 1$ each.

Could I also jump on that bandwagon, if someone is able to sort out Cheshirecat and has a spare after that, I could also send some Sun polys and/or cash. They could potentially be shipped in one package too.

Just be careful with UK customs here folks.

I will also stop by target tomorrow to see if I can get a price match, however TRU kept my Walmart ad so not sure if it will work. I'll update later with more info and see if I can get enough for those above.

I managed to get two, one in a beat up box. For those above who haven't yet either picked one up, or have one coming via a friendly fellow brickset member, PM me.

I'm in US east coast and am willing to send these out at my cost + any fees and shipping for those who actually want the sets for themselves or gifts for friends/family, not for resale. I am willing to ship overseas, but please understand the implications of the shipping costs and potential custom fees on your end.

If I can find any more (just found one so far) I will gladly send to someone in need for a trade of sun polys or something else!

I got another one from Walmart if anyone is interested. With my local taxes and paypal fees would be $44.20 + at most $12.26 shipping (inc pp fees and tracking) from 80018 to Continental USA (5lbs 24x15x4 box, but will gladly de-box to save on shipping). My store had at least an extra 3 so if more are interested I can make another run, just PM me.
  • JP3804JP3804 Member Posts: 332
My Walmart still had them in stock. I picked up 2 if anyone still needs one. $43.17 plus fees. PM me if interested.

Thanks to Jenni for managing to sort me out for one. However, I'm greedy this strikes me as a set that would look good with a bit of expansion, so I'm in the market for another one (or two!), with Sun Polys as a trade.

@LFT - I stopped into the WM near my office during lunch break but nada left. Will try the other nicer WM near my house on way home.

    ^ Thank you...

I had someone offer me one via e-mail, but have not heard back yet.

I am still looking for one of these, so if anyone has an extra, PM me.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Good news Tex! Josh scored from another member so I have the single copy if you would still like it. It's all packed up and ready to get sent out. But no worries if not =)

@murphquake, @gir3691, @jwsmart you've got a copy of this set waiting for you in my basement! Will trade hands once we meet up again.

To those of you in LUGs, I hope you hook up your LUGmates with finds like these. After 4 trips to Wal-Marts I bought several of these sets and will keep 2 for myself, selling 3 to LUGmates at cost and the last copy will go to another LUG member so we can draft this set in the near future.

Seriously though, being in a LUG is awesome. Multiply your buying power by that of the members in the group who look out for each other and it would be difficult to NOT find and take advantage of deals like this.

I've got two of these available for those who still need it. Again, please don't ask if you only want to resell, this is for those who want it as a gift for family/friend. I just ask my costs to be covered, $39.97 + 5% tax, shipping (US New England area) and any paypal fees. PM me.

PM sent. I'm also looking for a set if anyone has an extra one. I didn't notice this deal until late Sunday.
  • cheapinkccheapinkc Member Posts: 5
Pm sent, my wife had the car out of town. If anyone has one I would really appreciate it. My son really wanted this for xmas.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
I've also got en extra one of these sets now too. Message me if anyone wants one. 6.25% tax, shipping and paypal should come to about $55 total.
  • jlpythonjlpython Member Posts: 77
I know I'm coming in late here, but I'd love one as well - can PayPal today and don't need it boxed, but dont mind it boxed either. Thanks!

While I don't need one of these sets and unfortunately have none to share I would like to note how nice it is to see collectors helping each other out. I'm not saying it's a rare thing, just noting how nice it is.

Hey guys... I am new around these parts and recently out of my "Dark Age". I have tried to find this set locally and none of my Wallyworlds has them. If there is someone out there with and extra set, I would certainly appreciate it. Not looking for the box, just the set and instructions. Who wants to help out the new guy?
  • JP3804JP3804 Member Posts: 332
^ I still have one. PM me

It's good to see everyone helping each other out. Very kind.

A "mine" is a terrible thing to waste...

look up if you had any wonders about why people would donate random dark turquoise parts to a guy like @bmwlego... the 8AM "you owe me forty-five dollars" phone call was weird but awesome... Buuuuut... having just done a 260 lot online draft this set might be a LOT to draft buddy... unless it was just a couple, not 1 per person lol
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 819
    @murphquake-thanks!
Looking at the inventory for this set I agree that it would be a lot to sort prior to drafting but it could be fun. It would have to be done outside a LUG meeting or at the Xmas party?
Last year we drafted the Forest Police HQ and that set had 231 unique lots. This set has 302 unique lots so yeah-this set would be a major time consumer if we were to draft it.

@murphquake & @bmwlego Sounds like the draft we had a couple of months ago....Helm's Deep. Now the next mega draft we are having is the Sopwith Camel :)
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
@jadedanc i'd love to draft the camel it's such a great parts pack... need to get another...or 3
