Here is a link to the hobbit lego homepage, on a different day starting from the 22nd October to the 12th November there will be a different set revealed (we all know what they are though) but I presume that there will be a lego designer video for each set. I just thought I'd let you guys over here know.

Thanks -- there's some nice large images to be extracted from there :-)

I Know that this image is probably old, but does anyone reckon that there will be some new lord of the rings sets for 2013, such as the isengard tower because on the picture slightly to the left of the big lego toy story woody and buzz there is some lotr sets and some hobbit sets (you can just about make them out) does anyone reckon that a few of them might become made into sets or is it just another MOC

Oh, would I love a tower of Orthanc set.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
What's the release date for the Hobbit sets?
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
December 1st, I believe. Though they'll probably start turning up earlier.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Any word about the shelf life for current LotR sets? My guess is that a few sets will be phased out.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
like any other waves, stock will likely just naturally dwindle over the coming months. my guess is there is lots of LOTR sets piled up on the supply chain however, as sales were lackluster from the start according to most sources.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
My guess is that they will keep Helm's Deep around as there isnt a set to replace it. The rest are probably fair game.
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
Riddles of the ring set should be revealed today, and there might be a designer video
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
Here is riddles of the ring set listed at lego.com
    http://thehobbit.lego.com/en-us/products/79000
I don't know if this set has yet got a video, but it might soon
  • stegmancostegmanco Member Posts: 42
I wonder how they phase out current themes, when new sets come on. That isengard would be so fun!
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
I wouldn't get too excited about that tower in the picture - there are a lot of other items in the picture as well that are clearly either just MOCs or concept items that didn't get green-lit.

but of course it's possible. by far the biggest question in regards to LotR/Hobbit is whether or not there will be a summer wave.
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
^ I totally agree with you
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
I just heard on eurobricks that you can now buy these sets in Greece, hereis the link to the comment about the guy who had received his in Greece, here is the link to his comment, (it's the comment at the bottom of the page) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69506&st=7150

    Eagle-eyed @kez, very impressive!

It could be a prototype set that didn't go into production, though. This particular image contains a number of them, for Alien Conquest, Star Wars Yavin temple, etc. I would expect Lego to focus on Hobbit-related material.
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
^ cheers for that, I hope that the isengard tower isn't just a prototype though, I agree with you that it would be based More on the hobbit sets, lets wait and see if there are some new lotr sets coming out in the next year or so :)
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
Oooh really hope for many more LOTR sets to be released next year.

Indeed the Tower of Orthanc / Isengard would be fantastic!
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
This has been known for a few days now but I just thought I would let you guys over here know incase you didn't so here goes, THE LEGO HOBBIT SETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN GREECE here is a link to a guy reviewing the riddles for the ring set over on eurobricks and he says he will also be getting a few more hobbit sets and he will be reviewing them too, here is the link http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75373

anybody know how much the little set with Gollum will be?
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
#richo I suspect it will be £9.99-£11.99 like the other little sets are, in Greece though I have heard that people have spent something like €18 on that set, but that's probably because of the euro prices in their country, in the us it will just probably be converted from the pound sign to the dollar sign as always.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
    Great spotting finding that tower.
I'll keep saying it .. watch out for UCS LotR.
I have no evidence, mind you, it just makes sense, and I really think they'll do it.
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
    ^ cheers for that
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,637
^^Shouldn't be too difficult to do either, I doubt there would be hardly any new molds or even colors of certain bricks needed to make a good Isengard or Dark Tower or whatever they might do
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
The main menu of the Lego LotR video game demo features a minifig-scale model of Orthanc (animated, of course) which looks like it would be entirely possible to make from real Lego bricks if you had enough.
Having said that, it's possible that the model in the background of the photo (way) above is a sort of reference model used for animating the video game. The video games (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, etc) are notorious for showing models and minifigs which we never see in sets. :P
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
^ I think you are probably right there because In that picture slightly to the left of the lotr display case there is a lotr video game poster on the wall, but you never can tell if it might be made or not, fingers crossed it will
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
    Haha, Here's hoping!

Another very dry delivery on the video though. lol
  • kezkez Member Posts: 831
Yeah, most of the designers are very dry, maybe because they speak a different language and come from a different country probably means that there jokes are different to ours ^

    Riddles of ring-$9.99
    Attack of the Wargs-$49.99
    Escape in the barrels-$39.99
    Goblin King-$99.99
    Escape From Mirkwood-$29.99

They have the Hobbit sets for sale right now at Smith's (in Utah) which is also known as Fred Meyer elsewhere. I picked up the Riddles of the Ring and Escape from Mirkwood sets. I will post photo tonight, will review once that becomes available on the brickset page, reviewing is not given as an option now.

kyleJohnson11 - you are correct on the prices. Better than I expected for most of them. I thought the Riddles set would be the same price as the Gandalf Arrives, nice that it was lower.

I will add the Mirkwood Spiders set later after dinner

I picked up 2 of the Hobbit sets last night at Fred Meyer's in Lacey, WA. They had all of the sets except for one. I got the Mirkwood spiders and An Unexpected Gathering. PLUS, the LOTR & Hobbit sets are all 20% off right now :)

Yeah, I got them 20% off too. Have you put the Mirkwood spiders set together yet? I was surprised how much I liked it.
