Hi all

Please help me understand if it is worth bringing lego home from Russia?

Thanks in advance.

It depends (1) if they have any decent sales and (2) what prices you normally pay at home.

It's probably more expensive than elsewhere, but if you find smaller independent shops, you can find older sets. I remember finding a treasure trove of early-90's sets at an independent store in Thessaloniki, Greece not long ago. It's not rare for smaller toy shops to have sets 10-25 years old collecting dust.

well, Im from denmark and we proberly have the higest lego retail prices compared to other places... I rarely buy lego in denmark though because it is only worth when there is designated sales. Compared to the ratail prices in UK (and sales prices) I'd rather buy lego other places.
The price policy that Lego has in denmark is strange since it is produced here and so on.

Wow - you should look around for any Lego that might be unusual and something done for Russia - however if it's a normal Lego set you can pick up at home and the price isn't great enough than it's not worth buying it and dragging it back home IMO.
Also, I think it would be interesting to see some pictures of their setup if that's possible...
    Have a fun trip...

Do you have more details on the price policy? I don't understand why they don't allow you to go to the factories and shovel bricks to your trunk and pay $5 for it. Is it because they don't want you to resell? Or maybe the factories are in the Czech Republic? Like iphones are not cheaper in China. But why would your prices be higher than the other countries.

In Denmark everything is more expensive so I guess it's just because they can...

I think @nadana86 nailed it... I think the prices are in that level because the people here in Denmark thinks it is the level they are around the world... There is almost no free competition in reselling Lego as I understand (please correct me if Im wrong).

Btw. Lego has the possibility to by "scooped" lego, but only (as far as I know) in one shop located in Lego Land (Billund, Denmark). The issue is that you pay a fairly high price pr brick thus you pay per 100 gram.

Can you please try to describe what you mean about pictures? if best what kind of pictures... I could take a picture of my self bading almost undressed in my lego at home and send it to you, though I don't think that was the kind of picture you'll asked for... :D

:D nope but maybe some may be interested :D

It's probably nothing different than any where else but having never been to Russia and if they have anything 'Lego' set up differently or unique to Russia in the stores that would be interesting to see. Hopefully this clear up the picture gate :D

In any event - have a good trip...
