3:36 and 4:13 am? I'm never gonna get in on that. I was sawing logs at that time of the morning.

    Yea, no kidding right?

I commented to my dear understanding wife that I picked one up "last night" and she asked me what time... :)

    She just rolled her eyes...

In general that is why she is *only* rolling her eyes... :)

It was more about the 3am thing than anything else.

But 3x RRP is not going to come back soon on Minecraft I think, they are now down to $50-60 and will be a slow rise I think, unless they are gone for good.

Jinx doesn't have them now. I had Jinx set up to notify me when they came back in stock and I never got an email. I'm thinking they weren't in stock long enough for the email to be sent.

I never find email notifications to work on any site.

    @LegoFanTexas
Do you have some sort of spidey sense or something? How in the world were you up at "just the right time?"

Ironically, no... I was up that late because I couldn't sleep, so I was doing boring tax paperwork to try and fall asleep. I was doing my state sales tax filing for last quarter, it is due Jan 22nd so at least I was being productive.

There are sites with which you can register for in-stock notifications. They continuously scrape retail sites for stock availability and text or e-mail you when it happens. I received text alerts for the two brief Amazon restocks of Minecraft last night.

^ This is quite true, and believe it or not, I have nothing of the sort setup.

My business model does not depend on sniping qty 1 or even qty 5 of a hot LEGO set during the 20 minutes it is back in stock. :)

I'll do it if I just happen to come across it, but it isn't the bread and butter.

    ^ Well, they *did*. :)

Gone now, won't add to the cart...

Seems like if you are not near a computer (or smartphone) within 5 minutes of these notices you are out of luck. Your average parent or customer still has little to no chance of scoring a set at retail. For that reason I think these will continue to demand top dollar. Even with these inventory spurts, they are selling at around $60. Once production slows down again it will shoot right back to $100.

:) And I AM at my computer or phone all the time, I posted 6 minutes after the notice was posted...

So the inventory sure isn't lasting very long. :)

I have 12 put away right now bought for MSRP. I am really hoping they go up to at least $75 again. I am partly tempted to dump at current $60 rate, but I have a tendency to sell too early and thinking Xmas 2013 will be a good time for this again. I hope.

^ Yeah, I think they will sell well again next Christmas. Who knows, maybe even better than last month! :-) I think I had around 20 last year and don't expect to get anywhere near that many this year. I think that will be the case for most resellers.

In stock... looks like they have more than 5 (since you can buy 5).

    Should I buy more? Hm...

I wouldn't mind buying them, but here is the thing..
    1) many people are already hoarding these. So you have to hold them
    2) Right now these are going to be around 40-45 dollars depending on tax, shipping etc through LEGO's site (for most people)
    3) all sorts of people are asking the same question: Should I buy MORE of these?

I just cannot see buying these from LEGO as much as I may want to get a few for Christmas this year..
The price is just too steep IMO for something that could very well last well past through next year and not have stock shortages like last year, especially will everyone hoarding them away

This time they allow 5 per order which makes me little worried. It seems that they are confident now they can meet the demand.. or they realized they already met the demand.. either one is not a good news for us.

Maybe I should wait until amazon gets their stock. BTW, my previous amazon order is still backordered.

they also can bring it back when they want to, wasn't the cuusoo satellite set gone from retail and then came back? (just after I paid a premium to get a few from Japan!) They may release previous sets every time a new one also comes out
