^Well let me be the first to say that whichever TIE they pick I wish they had picked a different one ;-)

^ I would love a UCS version of the plain old TIE Fighter, so that would be great.

It will be fabulous, if they do a remake of the UCS snow speeder!

Any remake is a terrible idea. Just look at the poor X-wing sales

I wonder whether the poor #10240 X-Wing sales were at least in part down to the fact that used sets of the old UCS X-Wing were still reasonably inexpensive even before the remake was announced. You could pick one up for under $300 or so. In contrast the UCS Snowspeeder, for instance, will set you back around double that. I wonder if that greatly increased discrepancy would bring more people out of the woodwork.

On a side note, how cool would a 5000+ piece UCS minifig-scale Jabba's Sail Barge playset with brick-built sails be?

iso -- if you want your source to remain a source, I would keep it as anonymous as possible. In other words, avoid gender-specific pronouns.

So if the Slave 1 is coming out in Dec./Jan and something else (possibly Tie) is coming out in May....is there something from the SW UCS series soon retiring?

^ Oldest one out currently now that DS (kinda) and SSD are gone is R2 right?
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 852
R2-D2 was my thinking...just wasn't sure if it'd stick around longer because of it being a 'loveable' character in the movie. Was trying to decide which UCS/Modular sets to cross off the list before their gone.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if R2-D2 sticks around for another year. I'd really rather be proved wrong since I'm sitting on a pile of them, but it's a tentpole set in the Star Wars line at the moment and I can only imagine it's done well for TLG. They might even choose to retire #10240 before R2 goes.

Was able to pick up #75060 Slave 1 at Legoland a couple days ago. Have to finish building Palace Cinema and need to start sorting my holiday sales haul of stuff before I can build it but for now the box looks nice!
