2011 Colour Chart from LEGO

LEGO, through the Community Engagement & Communication (CEC) team, have released the official colour chart for the 2011 sets; these are the brick colours that will be included in sets this year.

Compared to the 2010 colour chart, two colours (both from the 'effects' category) have been retired (better to call them 'rested', as they may be reintroduced in future); they are #131 'silver' & #148 'metallic dark grey'.

Nine colours have been introduced this year; one of them is an old colour making a return (#20 'milky white'/'natural') & the other 8 are new. They haven't released the names of the new colours, or indicated if they are 'solid', 'transparent' or 'effects' colours. I've asked for more info & will pass it on if it is forthcoming.

Thanks for the info! Please keep us posted on any new details. I enjoy doing MOCs and I'm always trying to stay on top of the new colors coming out.

322 is presumably the blue used on the Alien Conquest torsoes

It might be 321, since the Cars 2 sets use a light blue, although that could be 323. I'm assuming that another major colour in the Cars 2 sets is sand blue.
Looking at some of the images, I thought we were getting an olive green, but I guess that must be sand green.
It's hard to tell from the pics we have so far.

This is a great chart, although we'll have to learn the bricklink colour names too.

Shame about silver, but fantastic to have sand blue back, and in quite a few different parts.

Since most of you are unfamiliar with the early years of LEGO, back when they had slotted bricks (1949-56)... they had about 21 different LEGO colors... and you could have the bricks in any sizes... as long as it was 2x2 or 2x4. ;-)

Here's a pic (from my first LEGO Sets/Parts Collectors Guide CD)... that shows the 21 colors available in the early 1950s. Note: my favorite color is what I call "Peacock Blue"... 3rd blue down in the first column....

Thanks to Andru over on Brickish, the new colours are -

    #315 - 'Silver Metallic'
    #316 - 'Titanium Metallic'
    #321 - 'Dark Azure'
    #322 - 'Medium Azure'
    #323 - 'Aqua'
    #324 - 'Medium Lavender'
    #325 - 'Lavender'
    #326 - 'Spring Yellowish Green'

The info comes from LDD, so I think it's a pretty reliable source.

Just so you know, 321 Dark Azure is the colour of the Alien Conquest good guy mini-figures.

315 and 316 are replacing 131 and 148 which as mentioned in the first post are being retired (they are pretty close to identical but use a different metallic additive).

Excellent - many thanks for the great info and pics, guys !

PS. @LEGO_Nabii is the 'net gossip about the "NNENN" sticker in the new Alien Conquest 7066 set true ?
