Minifig Shadowbox Building questions

My wife and I building a shadowbox for our minifigs we want to cover the back of the shadowbox with baseplates/plates. If the shadowbox is 16x20 inches. What would I need to cover the surface?

Also if we want to box each figure in should we use 1x4 or 1x6 or just make a bunch of slots with bricks like building a wall? We want them in boxes so we can decorate with each fig. Thanks!

Umm definitely do not see the answer in that thread. I've figured it out tho. Two 32x32 baseplates and 4 16x18 baseplates will cover it.
