Hey Melbournites (and other Aussies),

Does anyone know where I can purchase the orange Lego brick separator: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=630-3 in Melbourne? I'd prefer not to have to buy a set to get it.

Thanks in advance!

You can get it at Lego shop at home website but the shipping cost will put you off

How much would you buy it or trade it for?

One of the best parts Lego has ever invented, not sure why they never made it years ago :)

If you don't need it in any kind of hurry, I'd be happy to send you one of the dozens of extras I have for the cost of postage.

They did! First time it appeared seems to be 1986. (albeit without axle jobbie)

Thanks for your offers. I've placed an order with a Malaysian seller which will be waiting for me upon my return to Kuala Lumpur from Oz next week. Sort of not looking forward to breaking down my stuff, although it mewans I do get to build it again :)

Frankly I find the old green 1 better, you can stack both on top of each other when seperating 2x 2x1 plates.

The stud on the orange one does not allow it to do so

Yeah, that is a problem for 2x1 plates, for bigger plates not an issue. It would be better if they shifted that technic pin. I normally use one of each type. The sharp end on the orange one is a god-send for getting tiles off the middle of a large plate.

^ I second using the one of each type, even if I mostly use the old one. The orange one is a bit too thin and flimsy for my hands (and I've got pretty small hands!).

I DO like the tapered edge of the orange like @CCC said. Makes getting tiles off of plates a breeze!

Does anyone know how to find which sets have the separator included? My tool hasn't arrived from eBay yet and it's a four-day public holiday in Malaysia :(

I've begun breaking down my sets and despite only taking a hour for the three smaller SW sets (Tie, X-Wing, Walking AT-AT) my fingertips are pretty sore. Was hoping to pop into the toy shop and see if I can get one in a cheapish set.

If you know a way to search for which sets have one, please let me know!
    Thanks :)
