I know many on here know that I had hip surgery and also had to fly back to Louisiana cause my dad had a massive heart attack 2 wks ago. Well, my dad just passed away at 2033. He was at Walmart with my mom while I was at home. He had a seizure & another heartattack and never woke back up. They tried to code him in ambulance but it didnt work. We just got back home from the ER. I didnt get to see him before he passed this evening (didnt make it up to the ER in time) but they let me see him after. Still in state of shock and upset. Won't probably be around much for the next few days/week. Haven't stopped crying since about 2100 (I am a big daddy's girl)

    Thank you everyone for the condolences. Still in a haze quite often today. Had a few visitors today.

    Well, the arrangements have been set for my Father's funeral. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening & Friday morning with a service at 1100 on Friday at Resthaven Funeral in Baton Rouge, LA.

    Obviously, I am still not sleeping too well as it is presently 0300. All I ask is everyone keep me and my mom in their thoughts and prayers. It is going to be a very tough week. Later today I have to go with my mom and pick 45 pictures for the funeral home to turn into a photo montage for the viewing. Also, we have to go through his shed so I can see if there is anything I want. My dad was a carpenter and has a 1 story shed that he converted to 2 story, with all his tools and stuff. This is gonna be another tough day.

    My mom gave me my Father's rank and some of his dress uniform items yesterday (he was a US Marine for 13 yrs).

    My apoligies to anyone for the update. We have no other close family and there are a many of y'all I consider good friends. Just needing a "vent" Hope no one minds :)

    Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Let the tears come, they are very healing. Going through your dad's things is tough, but in years to come you will treasure them. {{{{{Michelle}}}}

    We have been looking through old pictures so we can pull 45 for the funeral home to make a slideshow. Also looking through my music for songs to play during visitation. We have to go to funeral home to make the final arrangements.

    Tomorrow is going to be REAL busy running around and getting stuff done, like Social Security to get benefits transferred to mom, funeral home arrangements, file life insurance, get some groceries (we have about 15 relatives coming in from TX, IN, and north LA). Also have to find me something to wear for viewing and funeral. I dont carry around my dress uniform so gotta go find a dress and shoes. Ugh, lol!

    Obviously still not sleeping. Gonna call a friend of mine who is a doctor and see if he can call something in for me to help with my insomnia. Plus I have been out of my medication i use to help with my nightmare.

    It is only going to get rougher this week. I am trying to be strong for my mom but I haven't been succeeding very well. Just taking it one minute/hour/day at a time :)

    @AFFOL_Shellz_Bells, @littletoki, @samiam391, @davetheoxygenman, @LegobrandonCP, @bmwlego, @andyscouse, @Redbullgivesuwind, @atkinsar plus all other emails:

    Thank you again everyone for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Hopefully tonight I will actually sleep. I think I have been dreading the funeral arrangement. Hence the anxiety and insomnia.

    I have ran out of sets I brought with me or won in auction. Got USC R2, Avatar Fire Boat, Space Center and a few smaller sets done. Guess I need to keep fingers crossed today that I will find a QAR or BP. I built a QAR for the new Lynnwood store but I don't have one for my personal collection yet.

    I am so sorry. Hang in there it does get better. I have lost both my parents in the last 2 years. My father just 2 months ago.
    My advice is to read the pamphlets on grieving from the funeral home. There are support groups for people going through the same thing that might help. You have to have someone to talk to. PM me if you want my phone number. Sleeping? I still have nights I can't sleep.
    Remember, if it doesn't kill us it makes us stronger and you are never given more than you can handle.
    My prayers are with you
    John

    Your welcome. Losing any family memeber is a horrible thing. However do try and sleep even if its just lying in bed in the dark. Getting overly tired is not very good and it can make you rather ill.

    Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! Services was this morning. My 8 yr old daughter sat in my lap the whole time with her and I both crying. She kept wiping my tears away with a Kleenex for the whole service. They did a flag presentation with Taps playing. My husband actually was in the presentation honor guard and gave the flag to mom. My 12 yr old daughter stayed on my right hip and the 15 yr old daughter stayed by my mom's side. All in all, it was a very moving and beautiful service. Thanks again y'all! I will be returning to Tacoma, Washington on Wednesday and my husband leaves Sunday for Washington DC.

    Sounds like a wonderful tribute to your dad! I'm happy your girls could be there for you and your hubby could be part of the presentation honor guard. I know this was a very difficult time for your family. You've been in my thoughts and prayers.
