Hit a Target on the way home from work (Madison, WI) because they still had the MF listed in stock. Of course it was not on sale. Another place with $101 BP and $41 Lighthouses though! They had not discounted deeper yet.

I just bought a Lighthouse for $25. It was half price off of $50. Target may be getting worse than TRU. That's a 25% markup.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ Same with the 2 in Cedar Rapids. I picked up one of the whitecap bay's they had since I was waiting for that to get to 50%. Just missing london escape now to complete POTC. Took me 10 minutes of standing there trying to decide if I wanted to buy all 4 Whitecaps or not. Decided not to since I dont really think that one will do that well later and it has too many of those castle wall pieces to be useful to me as parts.

I saw the lighthouse at $41 today - didn't bother. Only other thing on discount was potc Captains Cabin at $8.38.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I wouldnt bother on the lighthouse either when its $1 over RRP =)

Ugh! Why can't I ever find a QAR on sale?? :( That is the one set I have been praying to find lol
  • ChoochChooch Member Posts: 148
@jadedanc My Walmart has 3x QAR for $79... in Idaho
  • USMCYodzUSMCYodz Member Posts: 94
Just popped into the Target in Florida. #7962 Anakins/Sebulbas Podracer was $45 and #7930 Bounty Hunter Assaut Ship was $24.94. So both of them were pretty much 50% off
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
@Chooch That's a little far to drive from Tacoma, Washington lol.....although once I month I used to drive to Portland just for Sonic hamburger lol, till we finally got one about 10 miles from my house...hey what can I say?? Sonic is worth it!!! Now to find a Chik-Fil-A closer than Montana :)

Got trolled by my local Target. Called them since I live about 12 miles away. They said they had Anakin's Naboo Starfighter for $33.50 and the Pod Racers for $76.50. When I got there, the Pod Racers were marked but not the Naboo Fighter(the one I wanted to buy of course). Used the scanner and it still said $49.99. Asked the workers about it and they had no clue (naturally). I only have 2 Targets near me so they tried calling there other one and it wasn't marked down either. & I couldn't remember who I talked to on the Store Information number. FML. D:

They did have the Planet 1 series Naboo fighter for $4.98... Which I picked up for irony of it all. I'm pretty bummed...

I'm curious how each Target goes about deciding which sets get clearanced. Some stores have at least 50 of some random city set that are still marked at 15% or 30% off while PotC, SW & HP sets are already at 50%.

Not going to expect much from Target when I visit tomorrow.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
    @LegobrandonCP

Target in Lakewood, WA had the Fire Station for $69 (1 on shelf), Log Cabin $25 (2 on shelf), Cool Cruiser $27 (I got the last one), Podracers $63, Police Station $70, SW Republic Frigate $100, SW T-6 $30, POTC Cannibal Escape $31, TRex with copter $42, Large Dino set for $70 and the Small 3-in-1 red dinosaur for $12 (2 on shelf).

  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
^ A bit too far for my liking, but thanks for the info! If I were to go there, I would pick up the Cool Cruiser, Police Station, and Log Cabin.

    @LegobrandonCP
Yeah if payday would hurry up, I would grab you a few :). I still want the Dino sets myself but I won't pay retail for them. But on sale, yep I'd get them

JACKPOT!!!!! $0.76 S6 minifigs! I was lucky a man told me that they were marking them down, or else I would of have bought them at MSRP.
  • khmellymelkhmellymel Member Posts: 1,314
    ^ Jealous.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 820
I've read here that people have found CMFs for dirt cheap. Great find @Legobrandoncp. Still crossing my fingers for some amazing Target finds.

Damn, got so excited that I forgot which ones I already had in the cart. Now missing the darn Flamenco dancer that is needed to complete my set, I felt her like 4 times in a row. :-/
  • USMCYodzUSMCYodz Member Posts: 94
^I did that today with S7 when I found some at the store. They had S6 for retail but behind the counter and wouldn't give them to me to feel them out.
  • spaztrickspaztrick Member Posts: 8
Lately, I have not been able to find any LEGO marked down at Target (or even Wal-Mart). Glad to hear that some people can still find stuff.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
I picked up some TT's, QAR & HP Castles at "decent" discounts but have found nothing major. The best I found was a stack of seven Infiltrators at 50% off + 5% Red Card discount.
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
^ Hoping a big stack of infiltrators I found last week at 30% off has moved to 50% when I check again tomorrow, as well as a few TTs and frigates, if they haven't sold already... We'll see...
  • beabea Member Posts: 227
Total bust on the clearance here. Sad to see Target resorting to TRU-like pricing practices. I saw Lighthouse Island on "clearance" for $42, Street Rebel for "50% off" at $12.50 and Black Pearl priced at $120. Shame.
  • The_MackThe_Mack Member Posts: 239
I've noticed Target & Walmart price & price drop their items based on the affluent nature of the neighborhood. You want to find those "clearance items" either go to a rougher area of town, or one that is located in a smaller town. This isn't always true, but I've seen it many times.. Each Walmart is it's own beast, when it comes to finding clearance items. One will have items marked down, drive down the road to the other nothing.
  • beabea Member Posts: 227
While I have seen variations in clearance prices on the same item at various Targets around town, this is the first time I've noticed them mark the price up and call it a "clearance". This practice puts me off on the store as a whole.

Still, no change in the Lego discounts at the Mishawaka, IN Super Target. This hasn't stopped people from buying the big sets though. 2 Destiny's Bounty that were at $68 are now gone.

Picked up some Lego board games at 70% off last night... they were the only sets marked down at my local Target. Heroica - Waldurk Forest $5.98 and Minotaurus - $7.48.
  • psychopuppetpsychopuppet Member Posts: 71
Target in Dover ,DE dropped most of their Lego Clearance prices last night or this morning. Prices I remember are 7051 Tripod Invader $9.98 , 7052 UFO Abduction $14.98 , 5887 Dino Defense HQ $33.58 , 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle $29.98 , 7930 Bounty Hunter™ Assault Gunship $24.98 , and 4644 Marina $29.98. Everything else vanished overnight , was still coming up 30% off , or marked full price in the other Star Wars sets case. Picked up 5887 Dino Defense HQ as it seemed liked the best per piece deal at $33.58. Plus been wanting a T-Rex for my Batcave . I noticed Target has marked some of the Lego price up that were not on sale. Some of the original prices on the clearance stickers were jacked up to. Like the Dino Defense HQ original price said $111.99

Was able to pick up some Frigates at 59.XX at my local Target.
  • Mom2LegoBoysMom2LegoBoys Member Posts: 14
Picked up an alien conquest set for 50% off this morning, no mark up on it. Nothing else was left for clearence.
  • mterr1mterr1 Member Posts: 14
Millenium Falcon $42.28 and Dino HQ $33.58, out of stock but confirmed price, has anyone had any luck return - re-buy with the "I need to change the CC its charged to." At these prices have to give it a shot.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
Patience payed off and the unmarked big Hogwarts castle finally dropped to 50% off today ($64.98). Gave the second one to another AFOL who showed up a few minutes after I did partly to be nice but mostly because I do not have time for re-selling anymore.
  • forumreaderforumreader Member Posts: 97
T-Rex Hunter 5886 was $20.96 at my Target, so I grabbed one for the kid. Other sets were cleaned out at pseudo-30% off weeks ago, so not much made it to this markdown phase.
  • psychopuppetpsychopuppet Member Posts: 71
Stopped back by the Target in Dover, De on my way home all they now have left is 20 or more of the 7930 Bounty Hunters Assault Gunship $24.98. Everything went quick once the mark downs hit. Also stopped by the Target in the Christiana Mall . Most of the stuff is still scanning at full price.
  • jamiewjamiew Member Posts: 165
The only Lego sets marked down at my local target was 7930 for 24.94 and they had about 10

Are these prices supposed to be nationwide? Because my Target has the Falcon in-stock, but it's still MSRP. :(

Target by me had dropped from 15% down to 50%. Picked up a couple Alien Conquest sets, #7067 and #7065. I finally got a Jet-Copter Encounter. :)

None of the Dino sets were marked down and no MFs in stock.
  • slovakiastephslovakiasteph Member Posts: 62
I found a Black Pearl for $60 and the Mill for $20. I was hoping to find some LEGO notebooks, but they had a pretty small selection.
  • rolvtdrolvtd Member Posts: 52
At the Vacaville Target, I just picked up a 4842 Hogwarts Castle for 50% (65.00). There's one left if anyone wants it.

Heads up to any Heroica Fans, at the Fairfield Target they have 2 copies 3858 Waldurk Forest for 5.98 and 1 copy of 3857 Draida for 4.50. Note that they aren't with the board games nor the Lego, but in a clearance isle on the other side of the Lego shelf.

My Targets are pretty much tapped out. Out of the 6 within a 30 minute radius, the only things left are a couple of City Marinas for half off. I got one, left three on the shelf. Oh, I did see a couple of Alien Motherships for $40, but found them for $20 at a Wal-mart. All the other AC sets were wiped out.
  • mterr1mterr1 Member Posts: 14
Return-Re-buy successful. Millenium Falcon $42.xx, Dino HQ $33.xx and Dino TRex Copter $20.xx. Of course Black Pearl was $35.xx according to scanner. May need to return re-buy that as well.

My Target in North Carolina finally dropped the price on clearance items to 50% off. Picked up the last 2 Grievous Fighters for 24.98. Passed on a some AC sets.
  • ZathrasZathras Member Posts: 70
Two copies of Waldurk Forest for 5.98, bought one for my son, the other (save the figures) went straight to the parts bin - everything else on clearence was long gone it appears.

Going to check a couple more stores tonight, would really love a $30 mothership for parts and maybe a $42 MF for parts/Luke but not holding my breath on the latter.
  • atxleeatxlee Member Posts: 155
Was finally able to get a sale item from Target today. It was the Ewok Attack at 50% off. This was all I had to show for after visiting 3 targets and 1 walmart.

It was amazing at walmart. There were tons of lego but not a single item is on sale. The lego star wars section was full of the 2011 wave.

Didn't see a single set of AC, POTC and other themes mentioned here, but Stockton CA had a few games on clearance. I saw one Ninjago board game for $8.98, a Minotaurus game for $7.48 and a Heroica game (3858 Waldurk Forest) for $5.98.
  • sonsofscevasonsofsceva Member Posts: 542
I found the games mentioned at 70% off and one Ninjago Destiny's Bounty for $40. That was it from five Targets.
@mterr1 :Wow, I have never even seen any Targets with that many big sets at such clearance at the same time, much less that they would allow the return/rebuy approach. Most tell me that I have to get another off of the floor rather than rebuy if it was already a clearance purchase.
  • Pacific493Pacific493 Member Posts: 379
I hit two Targets this morning and didn't find anything of note on sale.
  • HELLRAZR_28HELLRAZR_28 Member Posts: 61
I called every Target in the South Florida area that had the Falcon listed as in-stock online, and all of them had it at $139.99. Damn it, damn it, damn it!
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
No falcons are discounted in any stores around here. I think it's a relatively rare event compared to everything else...
