^ I got my best retail deal at K-mart (the 2 $30 QAR's) but I never check the one near me unless someone posts about clearance there.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 820
@graphite YES! I NEVER shop at Kmart unless I learn about the half off clearance sales here on Brickset.
  • Mom2LegoBoysMom2LegoBoys Member Posts: 14
My target today had Alien Conquest 15% off, some HP 15% off, but not all of it, Black Pearls for 15% off, a Sponge Bob set for 30% off, and some of the 8497 Flo's V8 Cafe at 50% off. One of those boxes was damaged and looks like some pieces are missing, so they gave me a extra 20% off bringing it down to $23.xx. We are going to put it together and see if they are all there or not.

I checked my local Wal-Mart a couple days ago, and the best discounts I saw were 10-15%. Nothing super.

Target in Mishawaka, IN had Alien Conquest and Ninjago ship only at 15% off. The clone tank was also on clearance at $101 or so. 15% off maybe?
  • gdelahoussegdelahousse Member Posts: 153
Some targets in Denver area had the 8098 Clone Tank, 9085 General Grievous' Starfighter and 4842 Hogwarts Castle at 30% RRSP off each + a bunch of others at 15%.
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
Target closest to me in Queens, NYC had a few things on "Clearance" recently above MSRP! I got pics =-( Mostly AC but pretty fail. Did do quite well on the last big K-Mart sale though.
  • dotknottdotknott Member Posts: 30
I went to target today, they had a few things on clearance.. Nothing that made me bite.

Funny thing the clearance tag for the black pearl had it on clearance for $101 reg price $99.

  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ I went to several Targets where the Black Pearl went from $99 to $120. Go figure . . .
  • ChoochChooch Member Posts: 148
Picked up 5770 @ Target last night for $20 (50% off)
  • dotknottdotknott Member Posts: 30
My local target had 5770's but none better than 15%

Hoping I'll go there and find better discounts on them and 4842
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 375
I found in central VA the 5886 T-Rex Hunter for $34.98, but otherwise most deals were 15-30%.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 820
So far Target has been FAIL for me as well. Nothing marked lower than 15-30% off other than some Heroica games. When will the next round of mark downs begin?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I checked out my 2 Targets today and there were a few things at 30-35% off. Some POTC, AC and the SW frigate. One of the 2 had almost no SW stuff so they must have cleared some of it out and I missed it or an employee or something bought some of it. The kick is the marked up than discounted ones. Only one of the 2 had the light house and the one that did had it at $34.xx reg price $46.xx which is just BS.
  • FatMattFatMatt Member Posts: 502
Local Target today had Black Pearl marked "down" from $119.99 to $101.XX. What a steal! :)
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
Saw both the $34.xx light house and the $101.xx BP, which actually got picked up by a shopper :(.
  • RainingBoroSi02RainingBoroSi02 Member Posts: 59
Had to pick up a Destinys Bounty at $68. Not a great steal, but it's one of those sets that will fly fast at any discount.

    ^

Still 8 of those sets sitting here at $56. Wouldn't worry too much about the Target clearance as Walmart still has plenty more coming.

Trust me, with my Lego clearance "luck" I'll not find one at regular price. ;-)

Some good discounts at the local Target. The best was probably the MF at around $100. Took a lot of restraint to leave it on the shelf.

So what's your point? $56 is a pretty good price for Destiny's Bounty.

Anyone know when the next round of markdowns will come? The clearance stuff at my Targets is still around 15%-30%. Waiting for 50%. Any ideas?
  • dotknottdotknott Member Posts: 30
My local target marks down toys on Thursdays. Yours may be different, but it's a start.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
Two weeks of checking without any real luck. Here's what I found discounted.

    Tripod Invaders $17
    Alien Mothership $42
    Turbo Tank (one left) $101
    Bounty Hunter Gunships are gone.

I almost bought a pod racer set today at target for $63? I noticed that one side was "retaped" and had a different number code on it. They had 2 sets and both of them were this way. I'm not sure if i would keep it or resell it later but I put it back instead. A little unsure on what that means.

They had the orange star wars battle pack for 50% off. Also Lego game minataurus was 50% off. Falcon was still full price.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Yeah I saw the Alien Mothership discounted to $50, and was laughing. The other guy next to me in the isle, gave me a strange look.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
The Target near me had a ton of Creator Lighthouse sets on the shelf with clearance tags on them of ~$41. They also had a BP at about $83, but the box was pretty banged up. A few other random things, but none of it was beyond what's already been posted.

    No more Falcons in stock.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
^Ok that's ridiculous to have Lighthouse on clearance for $41. The general (non TRU) retail price for the past 2 years as been $39.99.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 820
I keep checking this thread hoping that someone reports a good deal but all we keep hearing is how there are none at Target.

Very disappointing to say the least as Target has been my go to source for 50% or better finds. Patience is a virtue that we need to practice. If non AFOLs pick up the "deals" and clear Target out of their clearance LEGO for less than 10% off then that is bad news for us bargain hunting AFOLs but I will NOT buy LEGO unless I am getting a great deal.

50% off deals at Target have been pretty rare in my experience over the past year. There were some after Christmas, but they didn't come until the sets had already been clearanced at 30% off for a few weeks and, by that time, there were only a handful of sets left.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
There have been plenty I've seen at 30%, some I've got, some I've left, especially the BP, and I'm not sure they'll hit 50%. Mid-summer is a totally different animal from the post-Xmas shoppers ennui. But what gets my goat is that the two MFs I was waiting to go from $120 to $100 got gone. Phooey.
  • wagnerml2wagnerml2 Member Posts: 1,376
I don't know, I made a haul last summer getting multiples of all the kingdon sets and the HP sets 50% off. Bought over 20 sets. That sale was wierd though. The sets never started at 30%, they just came out at 50% right away. That was last June, I think.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
Man, I wish. The best I've seen so far is Hogwarts dropping 30% at once. Everything else has gone a laughable 15% first.
  • ZonZon Member Posts: 213
Target doesn't clear things out quickly - the prices could eventually get down to 75% off, but people usually scoop them up earlier than that. For the most part, at least in my area, Target clearance gets cleaned out at 30% and rarely makes it to 50% off.
  • pvancil27pvancil27 Member Posts: 588
The Target he actually removed all their clearance prices except on AC and PotC. All the SW stuff is no longer tagged and rings up full price. Sucks, I was hoping to snag a Pod Racer set.
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
If you miss out on Target sales, I'm expecting many of these sets to be on sale at Walmart as soon as the summer sets hit the shelf in a week or two.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Actually, aside from holiday clearance, I think the lowest Target goes now is 70% off. Could be wrong though.
  • legoDadlegoDad Member Posts: 529
Picked up a Bounty Hunter Assault Ship for $35.00 (30% off) but Target advertised it as a better deal with a $65 retail on it (it's a $50 kit).
They also had the T-6 Jedi Shuttle at the regular retail discount 30% to $42 bucks..and The Black Pearl for $82 or $83 bucks. The only thing with the Black Pearl is that this Target (Elmhurst, Queens) retails it for $119.00 (another large mark up so you think you got a better deal). Found the Black Pearl for $65 bucks at Yoyo.com (a ToysnBrick head's up on this). Free shipping and got it in 2 days.

Don't necessarily count on summer sale prices at Wal-Mart. Last year when K-Mart and Target dropped prices on several sets, Wal-Mart did not. They moved the merchandise to a clearance area, but the prices did not budge, I think until after Christmas. That being said, they have discounted some things already this summer, but not at 50%. Even though they dropped some prices further, the Lego was the same at one Wal-Mart last week.
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 375
I too have seen the Black Pearl "clearanced" at $101, marked down from $120. Who knows, maybe some unsuspecting sucker will buy it at that price. It's not like Target will lose business over this practice.

^ I actually saw someone picked up a $101 BP, although she did so without much hesitation (which is not what I would have expected most people to do for a $100 item), so perhaps price was not a factor in this case :).
  • malachirobertsonmalachirobertson Member Posts: 268
I saw no movement in the prices for the Lego at two Targets today (South Bend/Mishawaka, IN). Still about 15-30% off.
  • cynthilinacynthilina Member Posts: 188
scored a geonosian fighter fro $15
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
Just picked up Destiny's Bounty for 50% off.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ was it marked or did you scan it to see that price?
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
    ^ marked. Also found 2 queen Anne's for $59 (marked). :).

Picked up Flo's Cafe for $29 today - seems like Target indeed is moving these sets to 30-50% off.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 851
I have 2 Targets in my area (Iowa) and the larger store had some of the LEGOs at 50% off. Aliens (7065) and POTC WhiteCap Bay $39.xx. But the Cars Flos Cafe was $41 and the SW Clone Turbo Tank was $83. Otherwise, the only other stuff of POTC were still 30%. Everything else was wiped out.
