Comic-Cons 2012

We're getting closer to the San Diego Comic-Con (July 12-15). Anyone heard what the LEGO exclusives/giveaways are yet? Is anyone attending? If so, I'm interested in collecting whatever the LEGO items are this year, and willing to compensate for the cost of the item(s), shipping, and effort for obtaining them.

I don't think there is anything out there yet - http://awesometoyblog.com/san-diego-comic-con-2012-exclusives/
Nothing listed here or on other sites? Either a very well kept secret or maybe there isn't anything this year? Which would be odd.

I'll be going, but Day 1 will be the Hasbro booth for me, unless Lego comes out with something related to the Super Heroes line. Last year they spread out their sales throughout the 4 days, but you had to be first 50 people in line when the exhibit hall opened.

I know that SDCC is the Grand Daddy of them all but the title should be more specific and mention San Diego. There is at least one other Comic Con out there that the title Comic-Con could be referring to such as NYCC.

Having been to 3 NYCCs I'd love to be able to visit SDCC one year to see the awesomeness in person instead of on the net and G4.

^ I thought about that (re: title), but left it without the SD so that the thread could capture questions/requests/finds from both events. Perhaps the events are distinct enough, and far enough apart, to warrant separate threads. Whatever the mods think is best.

There are at least nine that I'm aware of, two of which are held in Chicago.

There will be exclusives! :) The LEGO Group will have an official presence at both San Diego and New York Comic Con this year.

Comic Con has become the default title for just about every comic book show or convention I go to now. Even small one day shows will have Comic Con in their title.

Not lego but found a link of some other toy exclusives from SDCC...

Just got back from Heroes Comic Con in Charlotte, NC and picked up a Brick Magic Space Fighter kit (small but neat little fighter. 71+ pieces or so) from the Two Morrows booth.

Is this the exclusive from Hasbro you're goin' after?

That's all well and fine but there are several which are of considerable size and not merely one-day affairs. In fact, the four-day Chicago Comic Con is older (founded in 1972) and larger than any of them except San Diego (founded in 1970). In fact, NYCC is actually one of the most recent, founded on 2006 (its Chicago companion convention, C2E2, was founded in 2010 and has grown quite large relatively quickly while the other two New York Comic Cons have faded by comparison).

^I know all about it. I'm a regular comic book artist at shows since 1995 all over the country. I was talking about how every show big and small use the Comic Con default now no matter the size.

If anyone else gets a Comic Con Minifig I would also be really pleased if anyone can get me one. I have a Sealed Mini Hulk, I could swap plus postage. Thanks.

Johnny my friend you are going to need something in the neighborhood of a Chrome DV to get whatever they have. I paid 130 for the Batman/Green Lantern combo last year and I've seen them sell for over $100 consistently on ebay.

Yeah, the ComicCon exclusive figs have gone for insane amounts. I'm still holding out hope that they will release the ones from earlier this year at retail.

Jar Jar in carbonite is an interesting choice. Certainly a nice nod to the Han Solo fans, though.

@legoDad - I am going for the Marvel Universe and GI Joe stuff. Although I collect Lego SW I do not care for the action heroes.

If anyone has something they desparately need (other than what I get for myself) at the Hasbro booth since I am destined to be there let me know.
