That is hilarious. I have no clue about what the show referenced is, but the MOC is great.

The show itself is quite excellent....I would encourage you to check it out.

A great TV-show, that's about to start its final season. I didn't believe the hype previously, until I started watching season one a couple of months ago. Then I watched all four seasons in one go, at a rate of two/three episodes each evening. One evening I just couldn't stop, and only went to bed at around 5 in the morning.

By the way this is a direct link to the photo album on imgur, which is a lot nicer than viewing it via the dreadful HP: http://imgur.com/a/adbru

If a show that has the main character making Methamphetamine (Meth, Crystal Meth, etc...) and selling it is your idea of a good show, than go for it. And we wonder why this country is in the state it is.

I can't say I watch the show, or that I know what a real 'meth lab' looks like, but that is one great looking MOC!!

Cool lab setup, it could pass for a sci-fi too.

I did a quick photo for Breaking Bad last year as well :)
Very cool show. Gonna watch season 4 this week :D

I'm a pharmacist in Kentucky and see the effects of meth use and abuse nearly daily. Don't lecture me about having an open mind. Meth is a scourge on our society and needs never be glorified in any capacity. I don't need my mind so open that my brain leaks out.

The show in no way glorifies methamphetamines.

I don't think I've ever seen a show that shows an uglier side of drugs - meth or otherwise. When I watch this show I am tense from start to finish, even among the funny moments it's gruelling. The topic is meth, but all good TV shows are about the people, and their motives, and what happens to them, and how they handle it. Breaking Bad has had some of the most thought-provoking, gut shattering and socially relevant issues I've seen on TV played out. Don't knock it if you haven't seen it!

And the Lego lab is brilliant. :)

To each their own, but I'm not a fan of this show for a few reasons. One is I believe we should not be having a show revolving around meth cookers.. regardless of the 'context' of it. Another reason is I just do not believe this is a good show, I did watch the first season and a few episodes in the past few (hey, nothing else was on TV at the time). I think it is poorly written and the characters are morons in one way or another, and the show drags at a snails pace most times.

Now, these are my opinions and I know people will not agree, as it is one of the highest rated shows on AMC, but to sit there and tell people it is an awesome show is kind of misleading. It is up to someones taste.

Lolz at the comments from people who have never seen the show.

^I would agree with you if I also stopped after season one. However it truly becomes a GREAT show by season three.

It certainly may not appeal to everyone's taste but it has garned almost universal critical praise, especially seasons 3 and 4. Looking forward to more next month!

^^ Just had to google Lolz...
    First hit:
Adding a lowercase "z" at the end (Proper form, LOLz, or LoLz to switch between capitals and lowercase as is commonly done by a number of prepubescent horny teens, namely girls) does not necessarily add another word to the acronym.

^ yes I did, most people on here tend to talk english.
Oh and the 4th entry was:
A term for LOL (meaning 'laugh out loud' in chat-speak), usually typed by mindless ditzes who can't speak right.
  • MagnusReignMagnusReign Member Posts: 14
Most people on here tend to "speak" english. Unless you were referring to the good ole' folks in England with the funny accent. It's just plain petty to correct someone in an internet conversation unless that person seriously deserves it.

Also people should try to reserve judgement until they watch the show. It would sound almost as ridiculous for me to say Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Dexter all suck & are the downfall of society because one involves incest, one has cannibalism, and one follows a murderer.

I found the show kinda boring, but oddly enjoy another show about meth called Justified. Justified is awesome!

This forum is an Adults only forum.
For a long time now it has managed to encourage conversations that are meaningful, creative and stimulating.
One of the things that sets this site apart from the many other 'lesser' sites is that the form of communication does not resort to LOLZ, LMFAO, ROFL, flaming and other such childish behaviour.
And yes I am a good ole' folk from England thanks!
  • KulshanGirlKulshanGirl Member Posts: 67
^ I'm 41 and have no problem with the occasional LOL or other Cheezeburger-y bit of chatspeak thrown into a conversation. I get it. I DO it sometimes. Then again, I am okay with childishness sometimes. Most of the time. NEENER! =)

And honestly, I've been lurking here for quite a while and a good portion of the childish behavior I've seen here has been from the grown ups. Just sayin.
  • princedravenprincedraven Member Posts: 3,764
Not saying I have a problem with the odd LOL etc.
Not sure I like it when people aim their LOL at people in all honesty.
And I honestly had to google LOLz as I had no idea what the 'z' meant, seems no-one really does.

Bottom line all I was saying was it really does make the site nicer to read if it doesn't end up like this:
    QtPiEGuRlyGuRl24: lolz!!1 i luv u 2! lez go shoppin!
AbErCrOmBiEhOn121: aight honee lemme juss get mah REEL coach bag
    QtPiEGuRlyGuRl24: shut da *** up ***!
    QtPiEGuRlyGuRl24: lolz! jkjk!
    AbErCrOmNiEhOn121: lolz!!!

The adults in this forum should know better than to instigate. I wasn't trying to knock the English or insult you directly, although grammatically I'm sure people in England don't talk English. Just pointing out how silly it is to impose your will on someone through internet speak.
  • KulshanGirlKulshanGirl Member Posts: 67
^TOTALLY agree. If you ever want to mourn humanity, go open up any cute cat photo on Cheezeburger and read the comments. Horror! But Secretjedi's comment was very well stated in general.

Back to topic, I LOVE the creepy bald brothers in Lego. And Walter Jr. Hehe.

I was going to bring up how racist it was to show Gus holding a big drumstick but then I did remember he did own Los Pollos Hermanos...still a little bit tho.
  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 3,169
Magnusreign: The people in England don't speak grammatically correct English? Crazy talk that is. There will be people everywhere who mess their language up in the way they use it. We don't all speak like the Queen, but I would say in general the people who speak and write the most grammatically correct English will be the English. The most correct speakers/writers of Spanish will be the Spanish etc. Either way, I find widespread use of text speak cringeworthy - my niece thinks that "LOL" is an actual word.
  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 3,169
I'm such a pedant, thats why I rigidly use the English language correctly, even if I do have a Geordie accent.

Some people may not agree with 'lol' and 'lolz' but there's definitely no need for all this forum policing. Secretjedi's post was perfectly coherent and this topic is getting way off track.

Back on topic, that MOC really is excellent. I've still not started watching BB yet but I saw the first episode.
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
By the way, I tend to use Lolz as a sarcastic form of Lol. ie. when someone says a tv show is terrible when they've never seen and have no idea what it's about. ;)

Considering the lead actor has won the best actor Emmy for the last 3 years in a row (and every year he's been eligible), and they won supporting actor last year as well, and it's been nomitated for best drama every year, I don't think anyone is blowing smoke here about how great the show is.

I think this may have also been a little nod to Lego's gag use of the drumstick in its prior sets e.g. Jabba and the Wampa. The fact that Gus is "the chicken man" makes it truly fitting.

Maybe, but I will take meth in our society over censorship any day....BTW the show hardly glorifies this drug...have you ever seen it, or just being prejudiced?

  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Never said anything about censorship (though self censorship is a great thing). I am just saddened that a show like that would find an audience. Not surprised though.

^ Lolz! Your opinion is completely and utterly invalid and unwarranted. How could you possibly have an opinion on something you know absolutely nothing about??

The use of meth and its consequences in this show is one of the most terrible and horrific things likely ever seen on network tv.

That being said, it is arguably the best acted and best overall show on tv today.
  • KulshanGirlKulshanGirl Member Posts: 67
@pharmjod, have you watched this show? I think it's a pretty good deterrent to meth use and production. This show is about BAD decisions, one after the other, and the effects on everyone. A "show like this" made me weep, made me worry, made me hide my eyes and sit literally on the edge of my seat. I'm not fully caught up at this point, but where I am, it's just all ugly. And I wish there were more "shows like this." It may be the best show I've ever watched. (Along with Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, and Dead Like Me)
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
Ok, so this has gone way off topic, can we put a stop to it please and refrain from getting personal with insults, thanks.

By the way, my mother-in-law thinks LOL stands for lots of love, now that will get her into a lot of trouble one day...
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
Ha, our last descriptions make it sound like this must be the absolute worst show ever. What a testament to how great it is.

@Kulshangirl Wow if you're not caught up yet, prepare for the wildest ride yet!

    Btw, the moc is fantastic!

    Lots of love everyone! ;)

I'd argue that Game of Thrones itself hits each of those themes. ;o)

May I quote the forum guidelines?

"Ensure your messages can be easily understood: bad spelling, grammar, 'leet' speak, txt abbreviations etc. are to be avoided."

This is Huw's house, these are his rules, and we should all be grown up and polite enough to follow them without bickering about them.

    Thank you for your attention.

IMO Emmy is a useless award that is more 'political' with in Hollywood than based on actual acting.. there are plenty of better acting jobs out there than in Breaking bad, but again that is just my opinion, which I believe people are still allowed to have.

I'm a little late to the party but the Original MOC here is great (I'm a sucker for anything with lab equipment)

@atkinsar My Grandmother thinks it means Land O Lakes because it's printed that way at the deli counter. She also thinks that on Facebook you send a friend request by typing "I want to be friends with SO-AND-SO" in the status update.
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
^ if it is an informed opinion, yes. If you have never seen the acting on Breaking Bad, then no. :)

Sure, the Emmy's aren't the be all end all, but when an indie show on an indie cable network comes out of nowhere and gets 9 major nominations and 4 major wins over a 3 season span, plus boatloads of all kinds of other awards, that is a pretty good indication that it is a fantastic show.

^ I have seen the acting in Breaking bad, mostly first season, but seasons after as well, an episode here or there.. It just always seemed poorly written and overacted IMO.But I will add that I agreed with what you said. to make blind critiques about something is a bit extreme
  • mrseatlemrseatle Member Posts: 410
I just can't watch it without thinking of how funny he is in Malcolm in the Middle.

I do find it funny how coke heads and prescription pill abusers always "look down upon" meth heads and pot heads.
  • KulshanGirlKulshanGirl Member Posts: 67
^ Me too. I kept hearing Hal's girly scream in my head and seeing his spazzy frustration arm waves when I started watching Breaking Bad. I don't any more though. Now there's an artist.

This is one of less than 10 MOCs I have ever seen that I would buy immediately if it was available. The choice of heads for Walter and Jesse were perfect, Walt Jr not so good.
