If you set your offers criteria low, you will attract piss takers.

If you set your offers criteria low, you will attract piss takers.

They don't know what the minimum offer threshold is though, do they? I think that is how it works. So if they do a low-ball offer it just gets automatically rejected but still counts as an offer. In that case even if you set it higher then you still get the piss takers, you just don't see them.

Luckily I only set it very low on a handful of items, just to see what type of offers would be made. You get an email for every offer, so I wouldn't do it again in future.

I can't say I have ever done a really low offer on an aution, but I'll try it later and see how quick it is rejected or if it is clear that it is rejected at the time of placing it due to a minimum threshold.

Also if an item doesn't sell and is automatically relisted it automatically allows offers of around 50% regardless of what the original auction was set to. Had many silly offers for lower than postage because of this (my auctions included free postage)

Not ridiculous, but amazing. I’ve never seen one of these before.

Early sets did use minifigures as babies! That minifigure does come with #5233

If they are genuine (and depending on price) Mrs Claus might be a good way to get Deadpool's legs.

^ Rubber band holders, before they started shipping rubber bands in little boxes instead. Worthless.

I think this can be classified in the "wow I heard old Lego is worth loads of money" category - unless I'm missing something!

^ Eleven photos of... Wait, it's pretty much just the same photo. Why not take five minutes and sort by color, then spread the parts out so we could see what's really there? Okay, maybe ten minutes or so. With the postage, that would be a little over 100 US dollars. I sure wouldn't pay that much without a better idea of what I'd get.

Washing some of the parts wouldn't have been a bad idea either.....

It's a UK item, with free postage in the UK. But yes a wash wouldn't have gone a miss, but possibly not an unreasonable price for the weight of lego (and the vintage motor is pretty heavy also).

Nothing immediately jumps out but the boat Hull and vintage motor are heavy items. A number of non-lego items in there as well but possibly not unreasonable after fees and discounts.

Because you're in the States and the item is in the UK. So that would be the postage. Same if situation was reversed.

Ah. In that case, that seems a reasonable amount for postage. I'd still want better pictures before I'd buy.

With the parts as dirty as they appear, I bet a closer inspection would show some pretty scratched up parts.  I see very little value in that lot.

866+ pcs... we're not sure... when we manufacture the parts, they're just in piles on the floor, so some extras probably snuck in.

Guessing it's the polybag only, no game? Someone funding the game purchase by selling the GWP. Who would ever stoop so low to sell a GWP to offset the cost of the main purchase? *cough* *cough* 😂

Guess it would be smart to end up covering cost of game.  I just saw it and know various people were posting about it.

Looking at Bricklink they are all within that price range also. I'm guessing it will change over time, but possibly not so low that I'll ever justify buying one.
  • CCCCCC UKMember Posts: 20,205
The price is on bids, so it is buyers setting the price not the seller.

That sounds like the very definition of an auction!  We need to spread this information far and wide... particularly to those complaining about 'scalpers' taking advantage of increased demand for a scarce item.

Anybody looking to toss an extra 50% toward an auction of Creator Parrot polybag?  Asking for a friend...
