This makes me irate. They are clearly depicting the pt store Lego set yet list it as a duplicate set and offer no correction in the description. They also have no feedback. What a slimy person.

@Jackad7, am I missing something? I can't see an claims it's a duplicate, they have mentioned Duplo as the theme, not a complete surprise, I've had to correct a few people over the years referring to Duplo as Lego or Lego as Duplo, my grandmother still does this from time to time.

technically speaking, Duplo is Lego in that it is made by the company known as Lego.
in the same why as die-cast toy vehicles that are made by Matchbox are called Matchbox cars.
but i do see the point you are making, ware as Duplo can loosely be called a Lego item. Lego can not be called Duplo.

@chrisalddin I think a better analogy would be the issue of people referring to Matchbox cars as Hot Wheels cars & Hot Wheels cars as Matchbox cars. Both are owned by Mattel, but their products are different.

They pictured a the Lego pet store set and without really thinking about it it is clearly advertised as a Lego pet store set. Would you be mad if I advertised the Lego tumbler for sale 200 shipped and I put pictures of it up as the UCS tumbler and then you received the polybag mink tumbler? Nowhere did I say it was the UCS but I clearly depicted it. The fact that you feel you can justfy this persons auction is comical or appalling. I'm not sure which.

@Jackad7, I was just trying to clarify where in the listing they said it was not genuine Lego, because I read through the whole page. The way you worded it, it sounded like you were claiming they were selling a chinese knock-off as genuine Lego. As for Justifying their actions, where exactly did I do this?

Before everyone gets too hot under the collar I will point out that in the original post it appears duplo was autocorrected to duplicate. This caused the initial confusion.

@MattsWhat, which is why I posted what I did originally, I suspected a possible auto-correct frak up. I was figuring I'd get a response along the lines of "damn auto-correct, it was meant to be Duplo not duplicate" or something...

I did mean duplo. 
I've attached some pictures so you can get an idea of the price difference and maybe understand that the people buying most likely had nor a clue they were actually paying for a duplo set not a Lego size pet shop.

@SumoLego  I'm not really curious about him, he's just a custom. What I don't understand is the 500.00 bid. I looked up his history and after 7 pages or so there is nothing that comes close to the bid of 500.00. After all, he's a custom and can theoretically be redone by anyone with the proper pad printing machine so he can't be that special. I understand the fan enthusiasm because of the video game but 500.00?

Yeah. I originally so the katniss figure and paused and  thought how $60 was a lot, but she didn't have a dedicated line, and I guesss dedicated collectors might want her and I literally scrolled down to see this as the next auction and had to do a double take.
He did mention it was his last one but like you said it could easily be remade by someone with the determination to do so.

Price isn't ridiculous but the scale on those sets is massive. I'd be surprised of they could support themselves. Puts Legos UCS sets to shame

Not a specific listing but type of listing:  The listings where they post just the build from some crappy little set and are trying to sell it for about 3% off with no minifigures.  Who buys those?  I know whose selling them, but selling sets like these with out the minifigures is so depressing.  It should be illegal.  Kidding...kind of.

That's actually the most legitimate part of the listing.

The "normal" blue that has been around since the ark is called, by TLG, "Bright Blue". This part is available in various shades that might be thought of as blue, but the Bright Blue version is only available in one set and is relatively rare. Calling it "true blue" is therefore justified to distinguish it from, say, the much more common (for that part) Medium Blue.
