Looks like his mom (housecoat) got in the way of one of his shots :) 

His lot is very similar to many that I have bought at garage sales for $20.

@Pitfall69 Then you are very lucky. I'd be thrilled to find something like this for $20 at a garage sale, but it seems I always get there too late. Last week I missed a "big box of Legos" (demonstrating the girth with his arms of course) the guy sold for $10. Oh well at least that's better than the guy that told me he threw away bags of Lego.

Maybe lucky, but just last year I turned down a box of "Vintage Lego" roughly about the same size as the craigslist ad. The guy wanted $50 and I offered  $20 (My magic number) and he scoffed and used the line "I paid well over $100 for these "Legos". I told him that he had an incredible memory because the box of Lego was over 30 years old ;)

^/^^ The first one has a grand carousel and a bunch of modulars and tower bridge in there but no market street. The second one... have never seen those large Lego minifigs. Are they real or is it just clever photography?

hmm, that's the way to get rid of my "vintage" legos. 500€ for a bunch of plates and bricks and 2000€ per minifigs. then I buy mister gold and sell it back for a billion.

Based on the going prices of some of those sets, and possibly the number of pieces the guy has it probably is worth $30k, however selling it a lump some will probably never happen.   Based on the market value of sets I have about 60k worth of Lego but I'm pretty sure no one would ever buy it straight up.
